Just a little something to keep things going. Just talk about how you started to play Diablo.
For me, my brother got the shareware version of Diablo 1 and one night I sneaked onto his computer and played for about 3 hours until I got caught, which made led to the doors being locked in the computer room at nighttime.
For me Iwas used to buy magazines with demo CD ( Yeah I bought theses shits when I was a Boy >.< ), So One day I found Diablo, the rest is known as I fall in love with that....thing!! ^^

I honestly can't remember how I got the game, whether my dad bought it for me or I borrowed it from someone.
But I was first playing it on a machine with only 8 megs of RAM and it was really choppy. Then my dad saw how poorly it was running and later that week picked me up another 8 megs and the game ran beautifully after that.
A lot of my other friends were starting to get into it at the time as well. Then when we heard about the duping trick, we all thought we'd died and gone to heaven. I never had a knack for duping items though. I always picked the one piece of gold up a little to soon. It was easier duping Arkaine's Valor or Griswold's Edge I thought than duping gold.
The music in Tristam was hypnotic too. Back then I could have easily just listened to that music for hours. At that age, being more impressionable can be a gift as certain video games have a much larger impact on you than when you're an adult.
my friend told me about it at school. I then went over and played it at his house, i still remember how it was so foreign at the time and i was worried it would be something crazy... idk what my young delusional mind was thinking
My Korean friend got me into it... At first I was like "no wai! teh graphics look teh gayz oi!!"
Yes, thats how I spoke back then, being an ignorant little only-plays-cs arse
Then Diablo stole my life, and in some ways my friendship with said Korean friend - As I would rather stay home and play Diablo
Come to think of it... I honestly don't know if he did my a favor by introducing me to Diablo 2... I may of "grown out of games" early in my teenage years without it... Maybe instead I could of learned how to socialize and talk to members of the opposite gender... damn...
My younger brother played in at a friend's house and would always tell me about it. The friend in question was like A family friend. The children in both families would routinely stay at each others houses, we sort of matched up quite nicely, we were the same ages, except for me and the guy who owned Diablo 1. he was older than I was. So I was not there as often as I would have hoped. (Yeah less Diablo for me, at least for a while)
As the tales my brother span about the game became more and more intriguing, both myself and my other brother began to play it more and more. The tales were had heard tell of were indeed true.
As time went on, we soon began sick of sharing the one disc. bearing in mind this was back in 96 and few people back then had Cd burning programs let alone knew how to use a computer. Soon we bought our own copy. After performing various chores for the parentals. Actually working to get money to buy something you want. How strange. No one does that?! Bought it, loved it. Secretly wish I still had my orginal box. Good old flip front box 4 times the size of the matchbox crap games come in today. Yeah who remembers when computer games came in giant boxes with huge manuals and maps and catelogues with previews for other games?

Yeap I still have my Alone in The Dark 2/3 and Lands of lore huge Packs!
I remeber having AOD in 24 floppy disk xD (yes back in the old times xD ) and books that I passes hours , hours to read! All that packed in a big Box =D
Lands of lore 2 was also a big Deal (4 cd boxes )! When I got it , I was like WTF?

A friend of mine bought it, and I went over to his house and watched him play. he got owned by Andariel on normal. I bought it that same summer and it's never really lost its appeal to me, not entirely at least.
Diablo 1, tried that, but too late. I couldn't appreciate it at that point in time.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I'm not 100% sure how it started, but I believe one of my older brothers' friends brough the first game over to our house many years ago when i was a young lad. After that day I wanted that game so badly. I had seen Doom, Wolfenstein, and whatever else there was, but I had never seen a violent game with spells and swords. Years later my brother came home from work late with a copy of diablo 2 in his hands. I watched him play and something seemed really familiar about this game, and it was as soon as I saw the goatman that my prayers had been answered. So yeah I've been playing D2 since the year it was released and still go back occationally. Sadly after so many years of the same quests they are starting to lose their appeal I can't wait to play D3 for 10 years

YUCK!
My friend told me he bought this AWESOME scary game and I should come over and check it out. He just HAPPENED to be on the butcher part...He went up to the blood covered path leading to the cathedral and that freaked me out immediately. And soon, i was very acquainted with the butcher. From then on I was hooked!

My brother was playing it with all his friends on battle.net, but got a cracked version for home, so I started playing it. That was around 8-9 years ago.
I started by playing the demo CD from PC Games (now PC Gamer) on my friends PC which was better than mine. I actually went right to D2 and just recently (like a week ago) got D1 and started playing it. I still have the magazine that Diablo 1 was announced in; even though it's a bit torn up.
Well, since Diablo "changed" my life, I still remember it vividly lol.
A long time ago I went to stay over at a friend's house and between laughs, playstation 2 and internet, my friend told me about this little game he thought I might like, called Diablo.
I did not own a computer at that time (early 2000) and I must say, I was stunned.
I was in a very "dark" age at that time and that gothic/horror atmosphere made me feel like I was home. That day I spent nearly 8 hours playing it straight up until 7am! My friend went to sleep and I stayed awake the whole night playing it. I was... addicted!
My friend didn't care that much for the game but I was completely enticed. The music, the adrenaline and fear of taking a single step forward. All those tales and gossips from the townsfolk, I was reading all of it! People usually don't care for those in games but I was amazed by everything.
Surprisingly only late 2000 I was able to convince my mum to buy us a PC. I had "forgotten" about Diablo this whole time, but guess which was the first game I bought?
I played it for about a year and a half exhaustively until I got to know Diablo 2 and well, I played it too much, until late 2003. Then I switched to an MMO. At that time I had no idea about the whole battle.net thing. I really thought Diablo was only single player and tcp/ip so MMOs felt much more cool for the online aspect.
Well, now here I am, been playing D2 at battle.net for old times sake and avidly waiting for D3.
My stepdad used to play it all the time. I was little, and the moment I heard the Butcher say "Mmmm... Fresh Meat!" I was hooked. That was all I said for days. Been a proud Diablofan ever since.

My brother played Diablo 1 when I was around 7 so I didnt play really. I would get one but I was always afraid of dying so I barely played. Then when I was around 12 I started playing Diablo II after watching my brother beat it. I didn't get LoD until about last year.
