I just reinstalled D2

  • #1
    Hello, I'm New Here.
I got so excited with the new news of diablo 3 that I reinstalled my old diablo 2 and lod.
It's been quite some time since I've installed and played the game I;m a little bit out of the loop.

I did some searching around in the threads but couldnt find any information about the stash mods. I simply cannot play this game without the extra stash room. The default stash is so small as we all know. My question is (actually 2) If I upgrade to the newest patch, is there a stash mod compatable and also if not, where can I get a stash mod for a previous version. I used to use phrozen keep, but it seems they are not up.

Thanks alot for any help at all.

I am aware the stash mod works for singleplayer only, im ok with that since I realy only play single player. I'm having a hard time finding a stash mod for 1.12. can anyone direct me to one please?

    Thanks in advance

As far as I am aware, there are no mods increasing the Stash size compatible with 1.12a. The latest would be PlugY for 1.11b.

The phrozenkeep seem to be having some troubles with their links. Every file is, at least last time I checked, being linked to from another site by the member Volf. If you look through the last news post in the keep, you should find a link to it.
DiabloWiki.com - PlugY PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Honestly, just play the game, the stash is part of it, if you need a bigger stash you are probably storing junk.

Honestly, don't listen to JAZZ. I know you know the bigger the stash, the better the game ;)

don't waste your time, play some modern games and stop wasting your time until D3 comes out

As for the phrozenkeep, their links have been fixed for now. You should be able to find PlugY here (Installer) and here (archive)

Thank you so much Phrozen. I really appreciate that help. Im very excited about D3 as I said earlier. I spent like 3 hours last night trying to find mods and groups of mods that may in some way augment my stash. I found plugy and installed it and tried and tried to get it working then I realised... 1.11b not 1.12a. I felt like a fool.

    Thats ok.
but now I have more questions. I downloaded Median2008 which expands my stash... but theres alot of crap that goes along with it, I wish I could just disable all the special stuff and just leave the stash. Id like to atleast play the game as classic as I can eventhough I am still technicly cheating.

the next question, can I unpatch 1.12 to 1.11b? or do I have to reinstall.

Thanks so much for the help.

median 2008 is an over all mod, google it.
it ads completly new skill trees for every class, new monsters, new quests, etc etc etc, basicly not diablo as I know and love it. I just wish I could eliminate the other crap. As im reading the documentation it shows I cannot mod the mod, so.. I will have to uninstall

    :-(

May just be easier to uninstall d2 and just install the old 1.11b patch.

Just use ATMA. You'll have an infinite stash.

Uninstall Median 2008 (by replacing the existing Median 2008 patch.mpq with the 1.12 LOD one) and simply use Plugy. Although the character inventory won't be as large, the stash will be nigh infinite.

The only way to revert back to 1.11 would be to uninstall and then reinstall Diablo II as far as I know.

gorgora can I use plugy for 1.12? or do I need to definitely reinstall

whats atma, I looked it up but couldnt find it for 1.12

    thanks guys :-)

ok I uninstalled d2lod and erased everything. I reinstalled the whole game and installed patch 1.11. Then I installed plugy.

thing is, I use the plugy exe to start the game and I notice no difference with the game. I tried reading the readme but its a little cryptic to what exactly I have to do.

any direction... I put the plugy folder that was inside the modplugy folder into the base d2 directory like I read on another forum somewhere.. this doesnt seem to be working

got it, seems to be working now, I uninstalled the installer version and just downloaded the archive version which had different files in it. I just put the whole thing in the d2 directory and it now works.

    thanks my stash is ginormous

the next question, can I unpatch 1.12 to 1.11b? or do I have to reinstall.

I was too late for this time, but in the future, you can remember this very easy tip.

If you want to downgrade to patch 1.11b from 1.12a, all you have to do is download an old game.exe of the game, say 1.09d (it can be found in the keep as well). Then put it in the D2 directory, and run the patch installer from Blizzard. Voila, no reinstall.

And you can further use the features of PlugY, for example you can reallocate skill and stat points, kill DClone and do the Pandemonium Event in singleplayer.

Anyone know if someone have made a mod that allows u to use /players 8 command in non lod versions? Like 1.06 etc. I'd very much wanna play that version only if it had that option :)
I think I found some fix so i can make tcp/ip game with multiple clients on.. have to test that :)
