What I've said was that why would Diablo after freeing Baal travel into Kurast to visit Mephisto, this being at the end of Act 2 cinematic. Yes they've been in Kurast but the question is why?
Why? They wish to be reuinited so they can once again spread chaos.

I've always had this theory about the Prime Evils that they were most powerful in their own respective realms of Hell. So whichever one is on their home turf is more likely to be the most powerful. If not that, I might bet on Mephisto cause he is the eldest of the three and embodies hatred which is such a conquering force in itself.
Hmm, this is sort of a tossup between Diablo and Mephisto. Diablo obviously has the most power of the 3, but Mephisto(as has been said earlier) would know their fears and weaknesses, and would strike them like that, while Diablo would overwhelm Baal and Mephisto power-wise, Mephisto might be able to strike them both where they're weakest, sort of like kick in the balls but for the Primevils.
I personally voted Diablo as soon as I saw the poll, but now that I think of it it's quite a tough decision.

yea but thats really the job of all evil isn't it? i mean really when ever you see evil gathering u know something bad is going to start up again that is the one good thing about it, when u see chaos start to manifest it's self then thats your cue to get the hell out of there

A redundant response, let me take you in my point of view:
A gathering of all three Prime Evils is rare, when they were banished they went on their own seperate ways, Mephisto - Kurast, Baal - Desert, Diablo - Tristram. SO if they were to gather, which they did, it must have been some kind of ultimate purpose. This purpose being I believe a plan set into motion when they were first banished, led by Mephisto himself
Um, they were united, I believe. Didn't the Horadrim fight them near Lut Gholein and then imprison them? Then from there their soul stones were split up- one for Mephisto, which was kept at the bottom of the tower of Travincal, Baal's that was sealed in Tal Rasha's chamber, and Diablo's that was unaccounted for location-wise (before Diablo was released), but was never-the-less summoned up from the bowels of Tristram.

Diablo and Baal both went to Kurast, specifically to the bottom of Travincal's tower (Mephisto's Durance), and met with Mephisto there to open the gate to Hell, which they had been banished from for some time.

Or just some kind of purpose that would require all of them, perhaps such as opening a portal into Hell.
This plan you speak of could indeed exist, but I still don't get what you have to support Mephisto being the leader except that they did go to Travincal and not the other way around.
I don't know to what extent Mephisto could have left his Durance, but I do know Baal couldn't really move, so it was up to Diablo to fix things once he broke free. Baal was the closest to him, so naturally he went therey first, joined up with Baal, and continued to Kurast. That's why they gathered there, most likely in order to open the portal into Hell, since clearly Diablo leaves afterwards, so no massive plan could have taken place there.
They could have gone through the plan before opening the portal. However, Mephisto clearly greets both Baal and Diablo in the beginning of the cinematic, indicating that they have not seen each other for very long. Thus I do not know when this plan would have been excecuted, and where Mephisto fits in as the leader.

They might have also went there because Mephisto was technically the most powerful at the time, he had been free for some time and had an army of quite powerful slaves serving him, and he had almost full use of his powers, while Diablo and Baal were still incredibly weakened due to their comparatively recent freedon and Diablo was only slowly corroding the will of the wanderer at that point, so Mephisto was the strongest and most used to the mortal realm. They probably went to him because Travincal was the stronghold of the three in Sanctuary at that point in time. I think Mephisto was a sort of leader as well because he was the elder brother, the way he speaks it just seems right for him to be the one guiding Baal and Diablo with his wisdom, though there isnt much evidence to it it seems very likely.
Baal would spank them both. More attacks, Tougher (more hp) , Cannot be terrorized. (its big Bro of course he goan win.)
I mean come on, he is the end end end boss from the series. And in uber trist he was in my opinion the hardest to take down. Mephy conviction aura raped you, but uber baal was a stone in a flower patch.
I really think that The end boss from Hellfire would tone them all though, Can't recall his name but he was BADthyFawkass.

Umm, Mephisto clearly says for Diablo to enter hell:
Mephisto: Now my younger brother, it is time to assume your true form: Diablo, Lord of Terror!
-Diablo walks toward the hell portal and stops at the entrance looking back-
Mephisto: You are the harbringer of our return Diablo, send forth your Terror into Hell.
Not sure what you don't get about those quotes, Mephisto is clearly sending diablo into hell, "Send forth your Terror into Hell" really acknowledges this prediciment.
