I don't see how mephisto is the most powerful of the three. My merc alone was able to kill him 3/4 of the way and my sister can attest to that. I don't see him being able to beat Baal even let alone Diablo.

"I'm like a dog chasing cars." - Joker, Dark Knight
well off game type. and more on lore. its a close battle. each have there strong points and there weak points. i am going to have to go with meph though. because he is the oldest and wises. he would probably play a more stategetic game then more head on like diablo. then i would say diablo second. becasue though he is the youngest. he probably wouldve learned lessons from meph and baal. last i would say baal. for we dont know much about him. so i cant really make a prediction of what he would be doing or anytning.
Everyone should care about strategy and tatics, if not then it would be like 20 men take on Russia
Being the eldest and wisest, Mephisto probally knows about his brother's secrets and weakpoints etc, therefore Mephisto would be able to critical hit any of his two brothers, this being jsut the three head on
Now if it were armies led by the three Primes, Mephisto would probally win this too, using strategy and tactics to outmanuver the counterpart armies. Diablo would probally just charge head on, while Mephisto and Baal gather up and siege
Who cares about which ones more wise it's a game man. They will just use the moves they use on other players.
ok then lets take lilith for example. in the game she has all the same moves as andariel. but in the sin war books.
*spolier alert*
lilith does not have the same skills as in the game. so thats why i said all that. becasue if it were a movie or something. when the prime evils would have personality and emotion and actual thought or something. there would be alot more varibables.
ok. if you read a book and there was this battle between diablo vs baal vs meph. you think they would have intelectual ideas and what not. that it what i am talking about.

Alright you two are arguing about a stupid prediciment that is not related to the topic. This is too see which one of three prime evils will win in a deathmatch, either head-on, armies, etc. Criteria of the topic includes: LORE, GAMEPLAY, OFFICIAL INFORMATION (Blizzard), or a MIXTURE of the three

Probably not. In the books, the servants of Mephisto were the most reckless, Malic was just ordered to keep blasting Uldyssian time and again, and never succeeded. Astrogah on the other hand was a servant of Diablo and much more sneaky. Diablo stayed in the shadows all the time. He is equally as smart as his elder brother, as is Baal. There's no way you can rule Hell and foil Heaven for close to an eternity without brains.

Judginf from Game lore, Mephisto seems to be the wisest, after all he did plan out the whole epic but inevitable takeover of the Sanctuary didnt he?
I'd say it's not clear at all who is the mastermind judging from the game. I think Mephisto simply led the Three at that point because they were in Kurast, his realm of corruption. The minions were his, he knew the temples, how everything worked etc, so naturally they followed him. Doesn't mean they're less than his equal though.

Sorry if I misinterpeted this but 'they were in Kurast'?
Last time i checked Diablo just finished off Tristram and Baal was still in Tal'Rasha. Mephisto was probally already free from his soulstone, so why would Diablo after rescuing Baal go to Mephisto? My opinion is that Mephisto devised the plan before the Horadrim sealed them in the soulstones.

Um, what? You have so far, as I understand it, based your opinion on the games alone. As such, any conclusion you've drawn about Mephisto being the leader must have been derived from somewhere within the game.
In the fourth cinematic, we see Diablo, Baal and Mephisto all gathered in the Durance of Hate, which lies below Kurast. There, Mephisto assumes the position of leader, since he does most of the speaking and can be interpreted as "ordering" Diablo into Hell.

What I've said was that why would Diablo after freeing Baal travel into Kurast to visit Mephisto, this being at the end of Act 2 cinematic. Yes they've been in Kurast but the question is why?
Yes that. It's always fun to get sprayed by that when you're rushing a char and he runs up to you and does it.
