A minor patch for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is in the works. No details or ETA are available at the moment. Except it might be out in the next few weeks.
On another note, please submit Diablo lore questions to blizzcast@blizzard.com
The BlizzCast episode 2 podcast will feature Chris Metzen answering Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft lore questions.
Also please make this your personal goal to tell all your friends be it online, at work, family or friends at school / college to download the BlizzCast episode 1. There is a reason to that. There is a milestone that needs to be reached to guarantee Blizzard head-honchos route resources to produce more.
If the milestone on downloads is reached, and if this is something fans like every month, more Blizzcast episodes will be made with a video upgrade ... and you never know ... Blizzcast could be a platform to announce details of the Team 3 in the future, when the time comes to be unveiled. So help WoW and Starcraft now. And you may be helping Diablo fans in the long run.
Medieval I believe is pretty up there with Blizzard (not programming wise exactly, though maybe?), and Blizzard probably secretly tells him stuf.
I am not a Blizzard employee. However, the fansite I operate is 5-years old this month and I have grown close to Blizzard throughtout the years.
On the latter, correct. I have contact with Blizzard at least once a week or every two weeks. I do have a few contacts inside Blizzard. And outside Blizzard I have a plethora of contacts: novel writers, DC Comics, WoW comic book writer and artists, Upper Deck, White Wolf Publishing (RPGs/d20), voice actors: Jim Raynor & Kerrigan. Sideshow Collectibles, etc.

And how big will the patch be?
And I've learned to trust this guy, he doesn't sign on often, but his info is usually good.

I told fans a World of Warcraft Comic Book was in the works. A week later, DC Comics posted the official Press Release. It happened.
