whenever i finally get some time to play LOD and i log in it seems like no one from this site is on Battle.net, i remember a time when i would log in and our clan channel (OP xSICKx) would be full of members here, but not these days, where is every one?
Bored?
Sick of it?
still playing?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I've been playing on and off all day today. My connection was interrupted several times during Baal runs.
But it's funny you mention that at all. Cause I also feel like no one is ever on anymore. I'm not sure what my agenda has been lately either. I have a torch, I've given up on my Anni, so lately I just collect keys. Even though keys do me no good cause I've already got my torch. I like collecting runes as well.
Sometimes it's just fun to help out people who are just starting out in Hell. So when I have no idea what to do, I'll start Act I games with people and show them how feisty my Sin is. Trade games have gotten kind of boring though because people only want runes, Tal Rasha items, or Immortal King items. There's very little trading just for the fun of it. In many ways, it actually gets less fun the higher your level gets. For one thing, collecting unique items loses it's charm because once people are in their eighties or nineties level, they never want what you have to offer.
I do go into our channel first thing I log on. But like you, I rarely find anyone in there.

I have been trying to get back to Diablo 2 LOD as how I used to be...but things have gotten better between myself and my family. I used to play probably 13 hours a day on LOD. Now i just go on, see if anyone is playing, if not, I get off. I want to get back to at least 4 or 5 hours but I am bearly doing 20 mins

I didn't vote, cause you didn't put my reason up there. It was too addicting for me... so I had to quit. Was ruining my school. Guess I'm not as good with that stuff as some.
I'll take another shot at controlling my addiction of Diablo 2: LoD sometime in 08.

It's the weirdest thing. I had actually stopped playing for awhile, but for some reason, I felt the need to get my wife in it.
It's actually quite satisfying, getting someone into the Diablo franchise who has never stepped a foot into it. The look on their face when they first see Andariel, their squeals of joy at the dropping of their first Rares and Uniques.
I never thought in the span of my life, that I'd be playing LoD over TCP/IP with my wife. And we'd both be having fun. I don't think I can possibly love her any more than I do right now.

It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
I hardly ever play D2 Lod, but that is going to change because I'm going to start over and make a Sick_name account and try to be as active as I can be.
p.s. I still give squeals of joy when I get a unique
yeh ladder reset didnt seem to be all that worth it it the whole scheme of things.

Playing occassionally, a bit bored because I only have SP, I think I wouldn't get bored fast if I had MP.
I used to think I'd hate multiplayer before getting into it. I was a little used to cheating with my characters and I knew I wouldn't be able to do that on Battle.net. Playing on multiplayer has given me a whole new appreciation for the game. But at the same time I've found many annoying things about it too. Particularly with the majority of the people who play online. But I guess that's not the game's fault, is it?
no, i think the game is designed pretty well, its just some people have played it so much they know how to exploit certain aspects of the game.

It's not just exploiting certain aspect of the game. I can respect that. It's the overall shitty disposition so many players have toward each other. Especially to people just starting out and who have questions.
thats fairly standard for any game i think. which is sad, evne seasoned veterans had to have been noobs at some point. i guess they are just retaliatiing for what happened to them when they were noobs.

Man, I always thought Diablo players were nice. In Counter Strike your only friends are clan members, if even.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
But when I first started out, I wasn't even asking for detailed advice or maphacks or anything like that. Some of my questions were as simple as, "What's an SoJ?"
Their reply? "Shut up, noob." Without the punctuation and capitalization of course. All I'm saying is that those people on Battle.net should try taking a little more pride in their community and behave as though they are just that: a community.
And I'm certainly not saying people have to always answer other people's questions or assist them in quests, or leveling up, or anything like that at all. But I am certainly saying that high level characters don't need to act all high and mighty and tell noobs to, "Shut the fuck up." You know what I mean, folks?
Besides that though, there are still occasional people to help out. Being mature while asking for help certainly helps too.
