Ok this is what I have gotten so far:
PvP is the end-game.
ESorts is very possible.
They can add in anything that the PvP is missing.
PvE'ers don't like to be competitive so they don't want anyone to be.
I am the only one who has played the PvP on these forums.
I don't like Jay Wilson and not everyone at Blizzard thinks like him.
With enough people Blizzard will change their attitude towards PvP.
I have already bought my copy so I should get a say in something I have invested in.
This is ground zero. Imagine when the game comes out and again when the PvP is released. It is like adding fuel to the fire. The biggest question to me is how to get more people on our side.
The only way we'll see eSports is if players themselves manage it with the limited features offered. Blizzard won'd design the game catering towards eSports.

Considering I'm the most vocal PvM player on this forum and I've been continually stating how I'm looking forward to PvP and even hardcore mode, I'd say you're wrong. What I (and many others) don't want is the game focusing on competitive PvP. I don't the return of egos and bullies. I'd prefer the game be focused around people just having fun...because... you know.. its a GAME.

Um, maybe right? Most likely just wrong. However, wrong or right the point is moot as you're not going to get the majority of the community to side with you.
I have already bought my copy so I should get a say in something I have invested in.
Sure, you get every right to complain. Doesn't mean you have any right to change the game though. Blizzard knows the market they are shooting for with Diablo 3 and they've nailed it. Unfortunately for you, it doesn't seem to be aimed at you.
This is ground zero. Imagine when the game comes out and again when the PvP is released. It is like adding fuel to the fire. The biggest question to me is how to get more people on our side.
You... won't? Sorry, but as stated many times the majority of the community DOES NOT WANT TO THE RETURN OF DIABLO 2. They enjoy the way Diablo 3 has turned out and are actually looking forward to the Arena system. You're not going to sway a community that likes the current design to a design that they obviously don't like. At most, you're likely to get some support for more Arena modes.. which I myself have already been in favor of.
Honestly, it seems that the people complaining about PvP are those that no longer fit into Blizzards target market. In addition, they tend to last out with insults, statements of how awesome they are, and similar such things. Blizzard has already decided how PvP will work for the most part in Diablo 3 guys, period. If that means the game isn't for you, then oh well...its not for you. Don't try and say that you know best, when obviously you don't. If you were the majority, Blizzard wouldn't be designing the game as they are.
I think your just mad that I am right. You have no exsperiance in PvP and I do. You are the one not listening to the music. Nothing had can happen by making it an eSports. I have pointed out many times that you don't have to pick between PvE and PvP because you can have them both. You are the only avid anti-PvP poster here because you refuse to hear the truth. You stick to your same arguments of "they could but they won't". You keep kicking us "minorities" in the dirt because "we don't matter". You see something wrong with that mentality? Frankly it is rather irritating, because all I want to do is gather a crowd together who thinks like me, but it is really hard to do when I have to keep arguing with people like you. None of your arrguments are even solid anymore.
Now to your arrguments.
1. Wrong: Inferno can and will be beaten and if it can't people will give up. As for PvP there is going to be dramatically more PvP matches then there will be boss runs.
2. You already confirmed what I already said.
3. You are being ridiculous and also confirming what I said.
4. If you don't like to be competitive then don't play PvP because it is always going to be competitive no matter what you do.
5. I assume that because no one else has come forward. Point one out to me.
6. Nothing wrong here.
7. You have no idea how it is going to turn out.
8. Exactly, you and Blizzard are simply wrong.
9. Here again you have no idea, peoples opinions change all the time.
As for your last paragraph, if the tables were turned you would be doing the exact same thing and I think you are even doing it now.

Ahem... There are few real PvP'ers on this forum. Probably in the range of 5-10. Only about 3 actually are vocal and active though.
I think your just mad that I am right. You have no exsperiance in PvP and I do. You are the one not listening to the music. Nothing had can happen by making it an eSports. I actually have quite a bit of experience in PvP. I've played various Fighting games, Shooters, MMORPGs, RTSs, MOBAs, etc. So, I actually understand PvP pretty well. I tend to play more for enjoyment and not as much for competition, however, so my mindset is different and I don't end up with the need to boost my ego.
I'm also am not anti-PvP. If you actually pay attention to the posts I've made, I have a lot of interest in Arena PvP. I am against implementing features specifically to cater to the more hardcore PvP crowd. This means I'm against rankings, ladders, hostility, open world dueling, etc. These types of features cause more damage then they do good, the majority of the community doesn't want them, and Blizzard doesn't want them. Somehow, because I don't want to promote people that bully others...I hate PvP?
Maybe you should open your mind to the idea of casual PvP. Then perhaps you could suggest features that didn't go against the entire design of Diablo 3. However, you and those with similar mindsets seem to complain about the exact same things. It ends up boiling down to this: "Diablo 3's PvP is not the same PvP system as Diablo 2". That seems to be the main argument all of those like yourself keep throwing around (abiat in different forms).
Well, guess what? Diablo 3 is a new game with new mechanics and a target audience that favors casual PvP. You're not going to get your way because your way isn't the way that this game was designed, period. Blizzard has even posted to the effect and you refuse to accept it.
Now to your arrguments.
1. Wrong: Inferno can and will be beaten and if it can't people will give up. As for PvP there is going to be dramatically more PvP matches then there will be boss runs.
Inferno is the end~game. Sure it'l be beaten, but Blizzard expects it to be a couple months before anyone has it on farm. The average player won't likely have Inferno on farm for around five months or more. It is the designated end~game of Diablo 3. In addition, Diablo 3 isn't about farming bosses. In fact, without the valor buff, bosses are terrible to farm. Its only by actually playing through and killing champion monsters that you can actually make bosses worth farming. So it seems you don't actually understand how Diablo 3 works at all.
I only kind of confirmed what you said. If Blizzard doesn't implement features needed to allow a player~run eSport to flourish, then it likely won't. Honestly, I could care less if a player~run eSport happens. The big issue is that Blizzard is not supporting eSports in Diablo 3 and as such many of your feature requests are counter the design of the game.
5. I assume that because no one else has come forward. Point one out to me.
I don't need to point someone out. There was a ton of people at Blizzcon, assuming you're the only one on the most popular Diablo 3 forum is ridiculous. However, if you want to believe that...feel free.
Except for the fact that Blizzard has outright stated that they will not officially support eSports? I dunno, seems pretty set in stone to me. Especially when they've stated the same thing for around a year or more now.
Well, since it's Blizzard's game...seems you're actually the one that is wrong. At least in regards to how Diablo 3 should be implemented. Seems the majority of players agree with Blizzard as well...surprising. If they are wrong, why is the community agreeing with them?
9. Here again you have no idea, peoples opinions change all the time.
As for your last paragraph, if the tables were turned you would be doing the exact same thing and I think you are even doing it now.
You expect to change the majority of the community by complaining about Diablo 3 not being Diablo 2 when the majority already likes that fact? Well, good luck I guess. As for your last statement, no...I wouldn't sit here like you are complaining that Blizzard didn't make the game for me. I'm willing to accept that not every game caters to every type of gamer. Diablo 3 caters to co~op and casual PvP. It is just a fact, and I'm wiling to defend Blizzard's right to make that decision.
Ok first I was talking about how I am the only one with Diablo 3 PvP exsperiance.
PvP will keep it going to years where Inferno is only good for six months.
There is no such thing as casual PvP especially when concerning Diablo 3. Whenever two people verse it is always competitive, pull out your history book. Casual PvP was a radical idea thought up by Blizzard to appeal to the losers.
Have you ever heard the phrase " If your not with us then your against us" so stop be so contradicting.

PvM will actually get equal or more time then PvP. You realize that in order to level up you'll need to PvM, you'll need to PvM to get gear (or buy it from others that PvM for it), etc. PvP actually relies quite heavily on PvM so its not like your precious PvP will be the dominating game mode. No, that'll still be PvM. What makes the PvM challenging and fun at the end? Inferno.
As for there being no such thing as casual PvP, you're wrong. Not everyone plays PvP games as you do. Sure competition is inherent in any PvP game that has a winner and a loser, but that doesn't mean it has to be a highly competitive environment. People can fight other people FOR FUN and enjoy the experience regardless of winning or losing. Its not all black and white as you make it seem. You can have a more casual PvP experience that allows everyone to have fun regardless of skill level.
I have never won anything in my life and that's why I think every should deserve the chance to. The more competitive games the more chances there are. That's why I am not buying into it.
Also I have never compared Diablo 3 to Diablo 2 I am basing everything off of my own experiences. You only base you arguments off of Jay Wilson.
You can also have casual PvP and competitive PvP. The people who want casual just won't take it as serious.
Everything is a lot simpler than you make it out to be. You can hav PvP and PvE and you can have casual and competitive.

I base my opinions off various factors...experience with Diablo 2, experience with other games, Blizzard's official statements, community opinions, etc. Sorry, wrong again.
As for having both casual and competitive PvP. You can, but only kind of. The more competitive~focused features that are added the less fun it ends up being for casual players. Rankings, ladders, etc add incentives for harassment and bullying of the casual players by the competitive. This inhibits the fun of the casual players quite a bit. As such, many competitive features end up being negative.
Everything is simple. The game is designed around co~op and casual PvP. Simple, easy to understand...or so I thought before people like you started complaining.
yea, because guess what, PvP-ers do the most PvM if PvP is competitive enough and thus they want to min-max their characters to absolute perfection...
Why would you want to do this for PvM only, when you are at a point that you can already clear inforno without problems?...
Thus "PvP will keep it going to years where Inferno is only good for six months." is very true... those six month might be longer, but the main idea is right.
Actually, you're quite wrong. People like to perfect their characters purely for the achievement of doing so. It doesn't require PvP to enjoy such. With the addition of the RMAH as well, people will farm for items in order to sell them for money. In fact, I expect that quite a few PvP players won't be the ones doing PvM as they will PvM to lvl 60 and then buy gear and PvP.
Lets say Inferno takes the majority of players oh.. 6~8 months. Around that time we will likely see a first expansion. Inferno on that expansion lasting the community another 6~8 months perhaps, and then another expansion (I expect we'll likely see two expansions at least given the way Blizzard has done expansions in current games and the current level cap of 60). So.. that's close to two years of PvM content alone. That isn't counting newer players, slower players, additional PvM content, grinding for fun, etc.
This is of course speculation, but given the information we have...it's pretty accurate.
Wow dude your last 3 post are total crap. I give you solid evidence then you counter it, I reply then you ignore everything. Here is a famous quote by Abraham Lincon for you, " A house divided cannot stand". Do you know what that means? You have to support both PvE and PvP for the game to flourish. You can't have half a wall by only halfway supporting PvP. I have never bashed on PvE and have always supported both. You have run out of material and are acting childish and can only say "nope, your wrong". So based of that I would say I won.
We all know that Blizzard can make it an eSports and how. Now let's talk about why.
1. It would bring the lots of revenue.
2. WoW eSports is failing so it would essentially replace it.
3. It would help the RMAH because people would want the best gear to compete.
4. It would increase the life span of it dramatically.
5. It would be fun to watch.
6. It would only further improve PvE because people would need to level up their characters and farm for gear.
7. It would give them one more reason to have Blizzcon every year.

You won? Hardly. Blizzard is supporting PvP, just not the PvP that YOU want. There have been multiple players posting on Diablofans alone specifically stating that they are looking forward to Arena and appreciate that Blizzard has decided to make the focus of the game a more co~op experience. Not every game needs to be turned into an eSport. A game can flourish without highly competitive PvP perfectly fine.
As for ignoring your information, I don't believe I did such a thing. In fact I am pretty sure I responded to your statements quite well.
Now, as to why you are wrong and why Blizzard should NOT add eSport focused features...it's pretty simple...THEY DON'T WANT TO AND IT IS THEIR GAME. How hard is that to grasp? The Diablo 3 developers do not want to make competitive PvP a focus of development for Diablo 3. I could give a bunch more reasons as to why, but you really shouldn't need anymore. It is Blizzard's game and they chose that for this title they would not focus on eSport~related features and instead give a better co~op experience, with added casual PvP. Again, not every game needs to be highly competitive, games can be fun to...you know...play.

So, seems again... you're just wrong.
If PvP fails to impress me I am out of the game. The PvM is not challenging enough to keep me or anyone that dueled for real in D2 interested. PvM is a means to an end and that end is PvP.
If PvP fails to impress me I am out of the game. The PvM is not challenging enough to keep me or anyone that dueled for real in D2 interested. PvM is a means to an end and that end is PvP.
Well, you'll probably quit then. From the way you talk, Blizzard's casual PvP design won't impress you. Perhaps you shouldn't even buy the game and save yourself the money, right? For me, I'll enjoy playing the game as it was intended. The PvM is very fun and I'm quite excited about both Inferno and Arena.
Diablo is a PvE game, and for that reason alone the classes can retain their OPness, the moment you try to intervene with any for of interclass balance, the game would get destroyed.
PvP is a niche for some ADD junkies, who wants to race their epeen in anything they get into.
But not in D3, I don't want to see this game turn into the horror the WoW has or any PvP type game has. Why?
The very aspect of PvP is devoid of any RP elenment, it is a just a bunch of people trying to climb up a ladder, something easily done in FPS games. Furthermore, majority of the PvP players I have encountered have never really cared for either of quests or any aspect of the game that tied with the lore.
For this very reason, I'd rather have them make a standalone PvP game than ruining RPGs as PvE and PvP where any form of RPing is involved only ends in disaster leaving a bitter taste in people's mouth.

Yet what you have written does not account for the one simple factor that negates all that benefit:
- Balancing issues.
The moment you introduce a competitive PvP system, people will flood the forums and will bottleneck the CS with why is it the Wizard with the less l33t gear can beat your full Archon Barbarian wielding a colossal legendary weapon.
Then, they will either;
a- Leave it imbalanced, and have their nerves-wracked by a crowd of criers.
b- Try to balance out the whole game around classes at various gear and skills equilibrium points, with cookie cutters coming into play, driving the PvE side of game into oblivion making it boring to play as you end-up having only have single class replicated with different names.
If PvP fails to impress me I am out of the game. The PvM is not challenging enough to keep me or anyone that dueled for real in D2 interested. PvM is a means to an end and that end is PvP.

Nah ill still buy it and at least clear all of their content in the 2 weeks it takes me (Including Inferno), because I am a fan of the series. After that though its do or die, if I can't enjoy myself playing it then why bother staying around. Ill probably just run the AH for free cash. Just sell off all of my gear I found while I played and just run with that till it runs dry.

Sounds fine to me. Though I am skeptical that you'll manage Inferno in two weeks (unless you find some kind of exploit). I hope you enjoy your play~through and wish ya the best of luck. ^-^

No exploit needed. It is a Diablo game, and it is meant to be soloable. 3 Barbarians and a monk all veterans of the Diablo playstyle playing for at least a week straight should have no problems beating hell mode and that leaves another week to topple Inferno.

Well, since it's Blizzard's game...seems you're actually the one that is wrong. At least in regards to how Diablo 3 should be implemented. Seems the majority of players agree with Blizzard as well...surprising. If they are wrong, why is the community agreeing with them?
You expect to change the majority of the community by complaining about Diablo 3 not being Diablo 2 when the majority already likes that fact? Well, good luck I guess. As for your last statement, no...I wouldn't sit here like you are complaining that Blizzard didn't make the game for me. I'm willing to accept that not every game caters to every type of gamer. Diablo 3 caters to co~op and casual PvP. It is just a fact, and I'm wiling to defend Blizzard's right to make that decision.
So, seems again... you're just wrong.
So you got to test D3 beforehand and beaten every level of it with every available class to really know how long the game lasts?
D2 was only really hard when you were playing it in HC while hunting for those darned runes, and that was due to the quality lacking grind it imposed.
Then, they will either;
a- Leave it imbalanced, and have their nerves-wracked by a crowd of criers.
b- Try to balance out the whole game around classes at various gear and skills equilibrium points, with cookie cutters coming into play, driving the PvE side of game into oblivion making it boring to play as you end-up having only have single class replicated with different names.
I meant playing the game as hardcore(no RMAH, no shared stack with softcore chars and off to valhalla in single death)
Sounds fine to me. Though I am skeptical that you'll manage Inferno in two weeks (unless you find some kind of exploit). I hope you enjoy your play~through and wish ya the best of luck. ^-^
