this is jut my viewpoint. and I didn't read other replies, sorry.
>HCPlayer A runsabout how he gears his character and up to a point feels like doing greater rifts up to a certain point where he fears he can't risk any further, let's say at GR20.
>HCPlayer A looks at leaderboard and sees someone reach GR21. He then develops his char more and plays up until GR20 and feels ready for GR21.
>He finishes GR21 just about in time so he opts to end.
>He is now #1. Now everyone else is gunning for GR21, and then GR22... so on and so forth.
competition would be much fiercer imo. Anyone can stretch their limites easily in SC, whereas in HC, it's more grindy and cutthroat. There will be more planning in HC whereas in SC it feels like it's just trial and error.
whether others would prefer to go back to SC, HC just takes it up a notch competitive wise.
Im so happy atm, blizzard for once, took in basicly every single input from the ptr regarding "Greater Rifts" and made it much more sustainable, no jumping 10 levels anymore, damage and hp are more "in-line" with the avg mobs in the Greater rift etc...
Thx for everyone posting their oppinion, or voicing the matter to an extent where we played a part in getting blizz to listen, and make the game in terms of hardcore, a more viable place for "avg joe"
But i DO mind realm of trials which is kinda silly in hc. I am planning to play ladder on friday and before that i went to test things out on live. I went with friend to realm of trials and we were just annihilating packs until on wave 34 i got almost one shoted. I obv died since i had no time to react.
Now i feel bad for players on hc that will do this for the first time on ladder. They have no clue when to stop killing waves. This system is not really HC friendly. Good thing i tried before doing ladder since i now know when to stop :p
