I am a lil curious, I thought Blizzard said they did not plan on having world first achievements in Diablo 3. Did I miss something? Without having the achievements, how would you even know you were the 'world first'?
As for being a D2 Hardcore player having anything to do with hardcore D3, I'm also a lil confused. Sure, they both have the whole die once, dead for good aspect...but we haven't even seen all the types of monsters, content, etc. Expecting any kind of fast run through is probably just asking for failure. Blizzard expects 3-4 months before inferno can reasonably be beaten regularly. I think hardcore will be a challenge that you're seriously underestimating.
I don't think they do have world first achievements ecutruin, but they do have date stamped achievements so I can prove when I became 60 and see if anyone did it earlier than me. As someone said in a different thread, people who make it a goal to do something first want it to be known.
I thought the implications of being a HC D2 Veteran was obvious but I guess not. You're right, we haven't seen all the monster types or content, but that doesn't mean I don't know what happens in HC when you rush in recklessly, blind and unprepared. You don't really understand how careful you have to play if you don't actually play HC, and being careful is equally applicable to D3 as it is to D2.
I think a lot of people assume rushing means playing recklessly. That's pretty much the exact opposite because as Ecutruin points out, we don't know the content, especially the first playthrough so my first playthrough each difficult is going to be extremely cautious and controlled. We're going to be going as fast as we can in that regard (ie as fast as viably possible).

This poor guy... all you naysayers need to stop trying to hijack his thread with "YOU CAN'T DO IT" posts. You think someone that goes slowly, approaches every champion pack carefully, and moves methodically through the game will get world first. How do you know this guy will not take that approach?
Just fuck off, seriously, and let him recruit the people he needs.
Thanks for the support Pskfry, but I've got a solid group of 8 people (actually got a 9th and I'm debating putting together a 3rd group) and one of them will be streaming. We've got all the details sorted out and are patiently awaiting the launch of the game
We actually did a few full Naked runs in the Beta and running through the beta with no weapon or armor can actually get challening, there are times we had to run back to town to heal I think we went through 30-50 potions during the course of the entire playthrough, when was last time any of you needed to use a potion in the Beta?
LOL
Op, you forgot to say what region you play in.
I think WF level 60 hc is doable if you have 3-4 groups, play non-stop and is really careful on hard. Now Inferno....i guess your team will die pretty soon if you attempt it right away.
We're all just guessing at this point but I think world 1st will be someone who takes it slower and plays it extremely safe, slowly surpassing all the "Rush projects" that will most likely fail later on.
Maybe they won't fail. It all depends on how the game will be and we don't know it before it's out.
The rush projects may succeed or fail, but for someone who's chasing wf you gotta try rush as soon as the game comes out, and if it fails start safe mode.
Purpose: Rush HC, 60 and Inferno as fast as viably possible (ie world firsts) At Launch: 72-96 hour marathon session (ideally getting to 60 before sleeping) Commitment: 1 straight week of HC play, 12 hours a day minimum (I'll personally be doing 5 weeks) Voice Chat: Skype Groups: 2 full (4 player) groups (so when people start dying off/falling behind there's still a full party to progress) Request: 4 more people able to commit to the above Contact: If interested contact me at DarkPhenomenon@shaw.ca
Thanks!
Yo, when you find out you are sleepless for days and have remade new characters more times than you know what to do with... please do NOT start crying to blizzard or posting here about how the game is TOO hard. It is insulting you are saying the game will be such a breeze.
I just really do not see the rush to get World first in a game where it does not matter.
I would suggest not to play for that many hours straight. I find it better to take breaks for a few hours here and there. You will need your Brain fresh and doing the same thing for that many hours will make it more difficult for your brain to focus and losing focus in HC might mean death.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

Thanks for the flames, I'm well aware of how difficult the game can potenitally be, and crying? lol okay buddy.

I've done it several times before without issue so don't worry about it.
Isn't it best to first try and finish the game at inferno in softcore to at least know what to expect at hardcore?
Depends on what you mean by "best". It would most probably prevent many deaths on HC. But many HC veterans just don't enjoy playing on SC, so it's better to enjoy the game you play, right? Also even if you die in HC you still achieved a lot for your next characters (gold, items, BS levels, etc), so in terms of time invested it's still better to get, let's say, to the last boss on HC and die there coz of unknown mechanic, and you know it now, rather than get aknowledge about it on SC and then anyway start new character on HC, but w/o any items, gold, etc.
yeah it is best to let others finish first before us. oh wait, the title said world's first. derp! it is absolutely necessary to do HC first. our group is looking for the challenge, the thrill of expecting something that would just one-shot-dead us any minute, using our experience in various games to try to beat the game as intended by the developers.
i didn't say all of us will be successful or all of us will not die. that's the beauty of being in a large group, the cummulative experience and skill of every individual will get us closer to the goal. we help each other, suggest good builds and farm for each other. because at the end of the day, that feeling of finishing inferno in hardcore would make you wanna go outside and feel like..."oh yeah i'm the most awesome nerd on the planet!"

If your goal is world first you'll achieve it easier if you spend your time first at softcore. This will help you much and you'll still be able to claim your WF. Just suggesting. Have fun in any case.

*shrug* I didn't post this to be understood, I posted it to find likeminded people (which I've been successful in doing)
