hmmm oke, i wont lie, i will play softcore with my wizard first and finish the game completely and then do a hardcore Barb or witchdoctor...havent figured it out yet, i just want to play the first char nice and easy and pay attention to the details and story not having to worry about being killed
I plan to play both, one of each class, in each mode. SC when i feel like just playing without caring too much. HC when i want a challenge, or sense of danger. Probably SC first to get familiar with the game.
I didnt vote since there isnt a both option. Since i plan to play both and continue to play both depending on what my friends are doing and what i feel like when playing solo.
I considered that but if the game let's me play HC right away I'll go for it. I remember when I started leveling my first HC character in D2 - as soon as I logged out and saw the toon next to my SC characters, I simply didn't give a shit about them anymore.
Softcore, at least until I get a decent overview over all classes and game modes.
At the time I'm done with that though, I guess I'll want to perfect my char, soooooo.... I'll propably stay softcore ^^
I will be a SC player for a long time but, like d2, when and if i get bored I will undoubtedly dabble in hardcore as well. The only drawback for me in HC is the lack of rmah, not to buy but to sell.. Even if I can make some extra spending money on the rmah creates an incentive not to play hc. But at the same time, real men play hardcore LOL. Honour demands at least one level 60 HC character.
i dont like loosing time like when im dying in HC so i will play softcore. also finding loot is fun enough on SC without the thrill of dying ...
The 'wasting / loosing time'-argument doesn't really make sense to me. Once you stop playing Diablo 3 in, say, 3-5 years, you could say the same. Basically, as long as you're having fun, it's not wasted imo (granted, the dying part isn't that much fun in HC, but I always got over it 5 mins later and restarted).
If I do buy D3 I will likely be playing both since I do belong to a D2 clan and they likely will be playing softcore. If enough of them play HC then it will be HC only. I will be playing HC alone for all 10 characters first anyway and then I will delete them and start again.
I will not be trading or use the auction house only use what I find or create. I will drop or give things for free if that character does not use it. I will not even give the item to my other characters. Each one will have to find their own stuff.
I also plan on doing complete act clears just like I did for D2 and not do any boss runs.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
I lost a Hybrid zon with Windforce and StormShield/Nearly perfect Titans to an instagib from Gloams at entrance to ToD in Hardcore.
A pally ran in to loot me, and he died too. Looking back it was hilarious but at the time, it was a sad moment. I stared at the screen for at least 40 minutes, trying to rewind time. I failed.
I know, it's pretty frustrating at first and then it turns into a great memory. If you played SC, the perfectly-geared toon would 've remained in your roster until you stopped playing and you would 've probably forgotten about it.
Hardcore is all fun and games until you die to lag. D3 is no exception. I'll pass.
I'm really hoping that lag won't be as much of an issue. I lost plenty of chars to lag. Granted, that was 10 years ago when Bnet was absolute shit in Europe and you had lag spikes of 10 seconds or complete timeouts. Always fun to log back in seeing a robe.
