Hey all - hope i'm posting this in the right place. I have a brand new computer I got for diablo... When i'm playing, I get a pop up message that says that windows doesnt have enough memory to run d3. I dont have many programs running in the background that I know of - any suggestions on how I can tell what's causing this?

1) We're a fan site, not the official forum. If you want Blizzard employees to help you out, you need to ask here.
2) As TheWrathoGod said, some technical details would help a lot. Easiest way to do this is to hit the Windows key and type in "msinfo32" (yes, even on a 64 bit system). That's for Windows 8 though - not sure right now off the top of my head how to get there on other systems. Similarly, the performance tab on the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) helps to shed some light on this issue.
3) Could you take a screenshot of the error message? Don't take screenshots of your entire screen, hide personal information. You can use the "Snipping Tool" in Win7/Win8 to make screenshots of only parts of your screens. Then upload them to imgur.com and post the link here. Same upload procedure for the aforementioned info in 2).
hey thanks for the clarification - i know nothing you guys say is 'official' but i trust you guys (more than blizz lol) - i'll post the specs of my computer once i'm not at my work computer. not that i'm posting onto a computer gaming website while at work or anything wink wink.
and to keep with the theme of my posts - if anyone needs help hit me up in game on US servers.

I had the same issue, apparently it's a known problem with Windows 8 and gaming. For me the solution was to change the resolution of D3 to my desktop resolution.
THANKS!!!!! did what you suggested and it worked perfectly. I knew I came to the right place. I had asked both Dell as well as Blizzard, and they didn't have a clue. Much appreciated
I owe you an uber run if your on NA servers.
