Hello,
Recently i played diablo beta which was awesome. When playing solo everything went smooth, but in a co-op game it seemed like i was walking through mud, everything was slowed down a lot. This was quite annoying. So my question is, is this because of the beta, or is my PC out of date?
The stats of my pc are:
Operating System:
Windows 2.6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1) CPU Type:
AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3500 CPU Speed:
2.23 GHz System Memory:
2 GB Video Card Model:
Radeon X1600/X1650 Series Video Card Memory:
1.25 GB Video Card Driver:
atiumdag.dll Primary Display Resolution:
1920x1080 Secondary Display Resolution:
1920x1080 Hard Disk Size:
202.89 GB Hard Disk Free Space:
92.69 GB (46%) Download Speed:
1.52 kB/s (12.4 kbps)
Would it suffice to just update a few items? Would like to hear your comments. Thanks in advance!
I am a total noob when it comes to this stuff. A former flatmate helped me building this PC about 5 years ago. So what do you think would be the best upgrade? Is it even worth upgrading or do i need a new PC. Buying a new one isn't quite option though, currently low on cash flow ;P
If you absolutely cannot put together the cash for a new PC, I'd wait for the starter edition and try that before I bought the game, or install D3 and have a friend log in their account to see how it runs.

...and if you disagree with me, you're probably <insert random ad hominem attack here>.
So i am guessing to update my PC would be just a waste of money? Already my graphic card is crashing quite often. Instead of spending money to update it would probably cost the same to just get a new one. Any ideas for what kind of system i should go, which parts? Thanks again for the help.

Upgrades typically extend the life of your pc by 1-2 years, whereas new pc's last 3-5 years. So yes, it is a much better investment. You can donate your old computer to school's or libraries so it won't go to waste.

You don't need that much graphics power for D3, so you can save quite a bit there. Use this guide for reference http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html, and you could play D3 just fine with either of the two $75 cards they mention which would get you down to $485. You can probably reuse your case which gets you to $455. You could also save additional cash by reusing your hard drive, optical drive, etc. as long as they have the right connections (IDE vs. SATA) for your new motherboard, but make sure you check that.
More money would net you a much better PC, but if you're in a tight spot for cash, this is what I'd do. It's well above D3's recommended settings, but it leaves a lot of room to upgrade your CPU when prices drop since you're at entry level for Sandy Bridge.

I'd start here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-gaming-pc-overclock,3159.html which is a $650 gaming build. (Maybe a bit more with shipping.)
