I loved Diablo 2 as a kid and play HoN, WoW, and LoL currently on a gateway laptop on lowest settings.
I want Diablo 3 and so I am going to build my own gaming computer (I hear it’s cheaper to build myself).
I have never built a computer or even modified one before. I found a tutorial on Newegg.com and think I can do it myself.
Could anyone on here please make me a parts list of what I need to order to get a new pc up and running?
My Budget: $800.00 total after taxes.
My Goal: Build a computer that can play Diablo 3 and starcraft 2 on max settings and will be able to play future games on max settings for a while (few years?) down the road.
Does that monitor come with cables or do I need to order them separately?
The Amazon page lists it as containing a DVI and VGA cable. So you should be good to go. Use the DVI cable to connect it to the rest of your computer when you finish it.
All high quality parts; this will yield a gaming system that will last you years to come. Some considerations with the build:
Blew the budget. Total is $921.93 (as of now). I'm not sure what I can cut out to yield a good savings without compromising the system's gaming capability.
Micro-ATX case and motherboard. You don't need a full ATX motherboard with only a single GPU. If you decide to switch it out for a full-ATX board anyway, you'll need to pick a different case.
No optical drive. You'll have to do a USB Windows installation and download all your games from Blizzard/Steam/Origin/etc.
It's slightly less CPU speed and somewhat more GPU speed than the one I listed. I'd say it's better balanced than my build
Unless I'm missing something, I don't see a case... I supposed you can just lay out all the parts on a desk and forget the case... but I hope you don't have any cats

So far I have ordered: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VH236H-Inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B002453K5G
Does that monitor come with cables or do I need to order them separately? I paid $150 for that, and it’s not included in my 800 limit.
So PLEASE help me I am lost. I don’t even know what site to order the parts from. Thanks in advance guys!
Building your first computer can be intimidating, but after that it's easy
