I like this one because it's not huge (like other vengeance memory); I plan on using a big Noctua CPU fan. It's 1600 with a cas of 9 and 9-9-9-24. Costs 99.99.
"The results weren't very stimulating, were they? Just as expected, gaming with faster memory just doesn't make any notable difference. I could have potentially lowered the resolution and settings in an attempt to produce some sort of difference, but I felt that testing these games at the settings they're most likely to be played at was far more enlightening. If you want better gaming performance, the GPU is the best component to upgrade—no news there"
The 2700k is just slightly clocked higher, but not a bad choice for only another $15.
Edit: You only need a different CPU fan if you plan to overclock your system. Otherwise the stock fan will be fine.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"
I think I'll go cheaper ram, saving me 50 bucks, and that money towards the better CPU... while still having 35 dollars left to improve other components!

This one is 1866 with a cas of 9 and 9-10-9-27 (not sure if this is better than 9-9-9-24). Costs 159.99
I'd prefer something faster, and more reliable. Which is it? What would you recommend?
On another note which core i7 should I go for?

To those who reply: I'm working on building my first full computer myself. I really do appreciate all the help and insight you provide. Thanks!
Though from a gaming stand point, system memory is rather insignificant.
