Hey all, with D3 "hopefully" going to be out in the next couple months, and my tax return in, I was looking at my computer. Its only 3 years old, but I didnt buy a top of the end Computer to start with. I would like to just upgrade the video card to something like a GeForce GTX 570 which I have heard is one of the best bang for your buck cards out there. I just want to make sure the rest of my computer will keep up with the new card. My computer currently has 4mb of Ram, which I could upgrade to 8mb without any issue. Would be about 150 bucks for 2 4 gig sticks and then video card cost. Thanks for any feedback on my system and what I should do to it!
Processor-Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 8400 @2.67
RAM- 4 gig PC6400
MB-GIGABYTE GA-G41M-ES2H
Video Card-GeForce GTX 275
OS-Windows 7 64 bit
PS-650W Corsair
The thread says my video card is really good, I just want to make sure that with all of the graphic animations in the game, that I can play at solid settings and dont ever have to worry about it. Again, thanks for any feedback on a plan of attack!
If you get a GTX 570 you will be able to max the graphics settings with no problem. The 275 on the other hand, depends on your
resolution. You might have to turn down shadows or disable AA.
Also, I wouldn't spend $150 on RAM; total ripoff in my opinion. If you MUST have 8GB, why not just buy another 2x2GB set for $60?
Right, for a start you don't need 8GB of RAM, 4GB will be plenty. Your PC right now isn't "bad", and it will most likely run Diablo III at an enjoyable frame rate, that is depending on your resolution though, if you intend to play at 1080p I would suggest grabbing a 560 Ti which would be more than sufficient.

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.
first of all your pci express slot is not the newer version. you can stick a geforce 570 or w/e in there but it will be at the mercy of older technology.
you are on ddr2 system memory. it is more expensive and slower than ddr3. 4gb of ddr2 should be plenty but if you relaly want 8gb you're gonna pay. you cant use ddr3 but here are some comparisons for funz!

use your exsisting cpu on the board and anything else you want to carry forward.
like i said, it all depends on the budget. you will rock D3 with good frame rates, give me some more info and we'll figure something out.
