I'm using some speakers hooked up to the onboard audio on my Asus M2N32 SLI deluxe Motherboard.
About a week ago I was on my computer and noticed a popup that kept appearing asking which jack I intended to plug the speakers into, I kept hitting okay and everything remained fine. Finally I got tired of the popup appearing (after it happened 20+ times) and I disabled the popup by checking the box on it so it would not appear again. After that I noticed that my sound was gone. It has been gone ever since.
I have made sure that everything is hooked up correctly, I have checked all my audio settings to make sure that they are right and should be working properly, and I also just reinstalled my audio drivers. After all of this, my speakers are still not producing sound (I have tried two different sets of speakers). What could this possibly be? What should be my next step to get this issue resolved?
Thanks! ;D

Is your audio output set up to use your speakers? Some software packages give you options, such as using a headset or external speakers for your primary output.
It should be. Everything that I have gone through seems to be set up correctly for using speakers. Where specifically should I look to double check?
Windows xp btw
Take a look at your volume control options in the Control Panel. Make sure your mixer device is the sound card with all the options checked and not something else.
Ah, I got sound now. Apparently it wasn't detecting the speakers in the jack so I had to jam it in harder and wiggle it. However, I am now only getting sound from one speaker (the main one with the volume control). The second speaker is hooked up properly but isn't making any sound.
Hmm..w/e, I'll take it =P
