If mods feel this thread is unnecessary then by all means lock it or delete it, but since there are so many members who will be wanting to play D3 when it's released I thought it might be helpful to put together some information on pc specs and average framerates (maybe even compiled into a database or something.) Even the free version of FRAPS has a benchmarking feature that people can use. I was thinking of doing a 2 minute benchmark and doing a run from the start of the game (Overlook Road) through town heading towards The Weeping Hollow. This should be for Beta users only since it will give us a more accurate idea of what to expect in the retail version as compared to the emulator.
If anyone has some ideas on how to organize the data that would be great, if not I'll do what I can. Obviously many factors will come into play but the two that matter most will be Videocard and CPU. RAM will also have an impact on performance as will your OS, so maybe just those four things should be taken into consideration. Initially I'd like to break it up into (2) sets of three categories one for desktops and one for laptops with the categories being: ATI, Nvidia and Integrated Chipsets.
So, if anyone would like to help out with this, post your info in here and I'll gather it together
Forgot to mention, if you aren't sure what your specs are, then you can download a great little program called CPU-Z from HERE. I normally just get the zipped version since it doesn't need to be installed, just unzip it and run it. Here are some links for that.

If people are having trouble figuring this out, let me know and I'll do a small tutorial.
Here is an example using my work pc.
