I just wanted to post this as a warning to all Diablo III gamers out there. My friends account got permanently banned/deleted some time ago for using third party software. Funny thing is.. he doesnt even know how to install games on his computer and doesnt know much English. No one else has access to his laptop and every single time his Windows gives any sort of message/notification he calls someone and asks if its ok to choose yes. Also I checked his computer after he said he cant play Diablo III anymore and there werent anything (as I believed before I checked) and no viruses either (scanned his hard drives over LAN connection with my laptop).
Let this be a warning to you all. Be prepared to lose everything at any time until Blizzard figures out what causes false belief that some users are so called "botting" and have those players data backupped and able to be retrieved. Thou I am certain the usage agreement contains information about Blizzard not having to keep any data or that they are allowed to permanently delete anything they wish.
Cheers, Antti, Finland (IT specialist and a *LONG* time WoW and Diablo gamer).
There has been many false positives caused by unknown reasons in recent ban waves, but unfortunately Blizzard is not reversing any bans at the moment. All you can do is try to appeal but don't get your hopes too high.
All these "my friend cannot even install anything" stories are so funny. really.
If your friend is really such noob, then i am not even surprised that after first hour in game he got bored, then immidiately went to google, and entered "how to get 1000 paragons in diablo fast", download bot, turbohud and all kind of programs. Then went to youtube and looked at some guide "how to setup a bot for diablo". And then BAAAAAM. He got banan and used nothing this season....
