Everyone knows, people are botting right.I mean they cant not see this. They just banned a lot of people for demon buddy in hearthstone. Why dont they do the same thing for Diablo.İts kinda unfair.Thoughts?
Botting doesn't affect other players. No one gives a shit about what gear a botter has or what paragon level they are. Botters aren't topping the leaderboards. Botters aren't getting as much out of the game as other people.
Botters are, in effect, punishing themselves by botting. Blizzard doesn't need to step in.
Players get banned all the time outside massive waves, which doesn't seem like the case lately. Anyway, players do get banned. It's just that Blizzard doesn't have/need to announce to the entire world that they banned three players today, one yesterday, 17 last Tuesday, and six on the last full moon.
Players bot for all sorts of reasons. That's the risk they wish to take for the little gain they get in the current iteration of the game.

Theoretically botters could play normally during their available hours and bot all other hours of the day. Pure upside which does in fact have an effect in the leaderboards.
Botting in WoW has more effect on Diablo than botting in Diablo. In that game it actually affects other players and blizzard resources are used to deter it, resources that could go elsewhere in the company for production and development.

Yep. And for this reason, it would be a good idea to do a sweep and permaban a bunch of botters, just to send a message. But I would say that it is rather less important in D3 than it is in WoW or Hearthstone.
You don't really get an unfair advantage aside from time played. I doubt a bot is smart enough to clear leaderboard topping grifts. Hearthstone is a very competitive game. Any unfair advantage should be bannable as it effects everyone playing, botting in D3 doesn't really affect anyone other than the botter.

Where do you get this "doesn't affect anyone" thing? I really don't get it. I myself like to compete on the leaderboards. My playtime is limited nowadays but still doing pretty good by my standards by having 2 characters in top 100.
A botter compared to someone like me has the following advantages :
- Unlimited trial rift keystones . While i have to spend 1-1,5 hour to collect 15 of them. Those things run out easily if you're trying to get a good map at 40+ and you don't have a lot of time to farm regular rifts.
- Much better chance at getting good loot since he's on 24/7. Still no Furnace on my Crusader. I bet a bot could have found me one!
So you're complaing that you actually have to play the game? Are you going to complain that someone that has the time to play 10-15 hours a day has better loot than you too? Again the bots are not going to land them on the leaderboards and it's not that hard to get rift stone fragments. So what if the bot has 500 fragments and 20 furnaces, that doesn't really hurt you. Sounds like jealousy. I don't condone or agree with someone botting as it's not how the game was meant to be played, but it has little to no effect on the majority of the player base. The player still has to utilize what a bot gets and have the skill to hit the leaderboard, and if they are botting, they probably won't be in the top 100. In the current phase of D3, with no market or trading, and the severe amount of RNG in the game as a whole, botting isn't that big of a problem. You're not facing someone head to head in a match, grifts are not equal; they are random. If you want to talk about something that is hurting the game, talk about the shear amount of luck it takes to get a good grift with a conduit. And it's not as if Blizzard isn't banning the ones they catch. They just don't announce it.

Why do people keep making threads about this. Those that dont mind bots (or use them) dont care. Those that feel some imagined slight get all wet in the pants and freak the fuck out on every thread about how its ruining their life.
An advantage compared to what? As a person playing Diablo, I don't give two craps what other people are doing. If you have 50 trillion gold or 300 SoJ's, what does it matter to me?
i just love "the leaderboard" argument. I mean botting or not, top10 ppl on leaderboards are gonna be people who spent ALL THEIR FREE TIME on diablo. And you all sit here talking about leaderboard like you expect to be in that top10, are you ready to commit all your time to this game? If not, then why the fuck do u care about leaderboard, noone gives a shit about ppl past top10, just play for your own pleasure

You can have your own opinion, but when you start speaking for me, then that's when I have to say something;
You may not 'care about anyone past rank 10', but I personally do. Hell, I was stoked when I was around rank 500 with my sader a couple weeks ago.

They do sweep and permaban bunches of botters everyday. Just because they don't advertise the fact every morning "Hey normal players we ju7st banned 12000 botters last nite! Here's their NAMES AND ADDRESSES for proof!" doesn't mean they don't.
Blizz has a policy of occlusion when it comes to how much banhammer they're laying down. It's a solid policy.
lol bans every day. dont kid yourself. they are not banning anyone.
i dont get why you pull facts out of your ass. its certainly not true. there has been a really low amount of bans. usually its because of excessive reports or just pure stupidity like streaming on twitch while botting.
What, exactly, makes you think they don't ban weekly/daily? Are you privy to some knowledge that we aren't? You have an inside source?
You accuse others of "pulling facts out of their ass", but then you lean your entire argument on something you couldn't possibly know. I really enjoy the part where you say "They are not banning anyone".....and then immediately say "there has been a really low amount of bans". You simply have no clue what the fuck you're talking about, as is evidenced clearly by your conflicting statements.
I will say this; If people think botting is a problem now, the issue would be extreme if we didn't have BoA. Personally I've never seen a bot in action playing D3, and I do a great deal of pub games. The issue with botting is both not as bad as some make it seem, and, Blizz does more than any of us know to combat it.
Blame the players. It's "their" fault. They will never stop botting, no matter what Blizz does. It is literally a problem that cannot be eliminated. No software company has ever eliminated botting. So why hold Blizz to a higher (and unreasonable) standard than other companies?

Because no other company has the succes of Blizzard in RPG-style games? And how wound you know if someone is blaming other companies for botting or not, im sure you dont have 3000 posts on Path of exile or Linage forums

So because Blizz has money, you think money solves the issue? The issue of botting transcends simply throwing money at the problem. Where there's a will, there's a way, as they say. People will ALWAYS find a way to bot. Just like Blizz will always do what they can to mitigate a problem that is not going away, no matter how successful the software giant may be.

How does he not have an advantage over me then?
At the end of the day, it's as @Belloc said.
i.e. these threads are dumb
