Hola. Just wondering how you gear up alts or new main chars
I recently changed from Demon Hunter to Wizard. I find the gameplay on the demon hunter to be too boring.
The way i have been gearing up my Wizard is Running torment 1-2 rifts. Which i found to be too slow. Now im running greater rift rank 1-20 ish on the wizard which i can do fairly easy with 0-2 legendaries per boss kill and some shards. Im also farming t6 on my DH (aprox 500 shards per half an hour) and spend the shards on my wiz. And from time to time. Leech into my friends t6 rifts. Hoping for full firebird so i can start doing some real wizard playing on my own. But this far. Ive got 3 pieces in a little under a week so i'm turning more and more emo
Thats my method of operations. So, how do you do it ?
When I want to play a different class, it's because of certain items/sets. I never play those classes before I have the sets. The two ways I go about gearing is 1) gambling, i.e., getting as many bloodshards as possible on another class with which I can already clear T6 really really quick or 2) loot sharing. For example, if I have a perfectly geared monk and I want to gear my crusader, I'd find crusaders who want to gear their monks and play with them, and we'd just give each other the loot we find. This, plus gambling, gets you any class geared up really really quick.
If you play a DH without M6 in pursue of getting M6 it takes so freaking long and by the time you got the set you might just not have any interest in playing the class anymore, so for me personally it's not worth it. But that's very subjective, some people like to do that. I personally think you're wasting way too much time playing a class on T1-T2, where the loot, blood shards, and XP are really really low compared to your fastest farming class.
I do rifts with my strongest character on T6, collect blood shards and once I get 400+ I switch to the one I wanna gear up and gamble for set pieces (and offhand) I am looking for. Once I got all set bonuses I wanted I play that char and get the rest just by playing. Now in 2.1 I do low level (up to lvl 15~20) Grifts on this char and cross fingers for weapon and jewelery.
Same when trying to get act1 bounty ring. I do about 10 bounty runs T6, keep all the caches rewarded in stash and open them one by one on character that's looking for the ring.
I do think, you'll get bored the same way you are with the DH if you wait for a full firebird set before playing the wiz.
Wizzard is strong because you can actually smash a difficulty with low gear & proper spec. You should try different spec depending on the gear you find, it's really easy to itemize.
But if you look for easy gear, just farm T6 with your main try to group up with well geared wizzard and ask for item they don't need. You'll get a good start in a few hours. Many wiz wants to reroll dh because they think firebird is boring, less efficient. The irony.
I am playing my Wizard aswell. Running a light of grace ray of frost build. Can do t4ish with unity. But spending days without much progress is kinda boring no matter what class you play

And may the odds be ever in your favour.
