So they havent banned the people that exploited after the realms coming back up from maintenance, gabynator hit 300 levels in 2 hours and is still on streaming on his account also several others. i guess blizzard is sending a message loud and clear, its ok to exploit. im personally quitting season 1 after this joke and maybe even the game. see i like to compete and there is ALWAYS exploits, when a game company is saying its okay to do these expoits on a leaderboard then whats the point of playing legitly? also i encourage anyone else who was playing legitly and got a huge setback by this quitting until next season, not only because your at a huge disatvantage now but so blizzard can see the drop in numbers and know its not ok that people are getting away with this.
Thats blizzards theme fix the problem and hope the damage fixes itself and people turn the other way because they dont care about anything but money, and time fixing this is money wow is different because they make money on subs.
In WoW I got banned because I used wallclimbing to get into unfinished zones = BANNED!
I didn't get an advantage over others from looking at untextured polygons, but hey......
You do however potentially cause issues with the server, or even see something you're notsupposed to see.
Also: People who are at a "disadvantage" would probably be at a disadvantage anyway because the kinds of people who exploited the GRift bug were the ones alreay dnolifing thru the leaderboards. So really you didn't have any sort of fair chancein the first place.
Yea, it is a real shame that Blizzard did not ban these exploiters. What strange message does that send? At least they could have done a roll-back or something..
I bet you get banned real quick if you would use maphack or similar, if there is one. And a cheat like that does not give you a big advantage compared to those exploits.
not true, i was high on leaderboards and it set me back. also gabynoator for instance, he was level like 20 now level 350 in 1 day. if hes on the leaderboards 1 day which he will be, then yes it does have an affect and thats an example of 1 player. but hey, i guess who cares if you start late on seasons if you can just exploit your way back to everyone elses level and compete. its not fair to everyone who worked so hard to get high levels and try to compete. theres people that didnt even sleep some nights just to get ahead, and for what? to have someone who cheated beat them on the leaderboards?
and even if you dont think this is a big deal, what about next time? what if theres a gear exploit? they clearly sent a message, theyre not fixing the damage from exploits. and in fact they didnt even ban the people that advertised the exploits "streamers"
It's Season 1. There are hitches. They'll be fixed for next season. It' not like the exploit will do anything to majorly affect any final rift rankings for dedicated players.
Litrally the only negative effect is top Paragon level among players. The real epeen goals have nothing to do with that. Banning people won't really have much of an affect, because as I said, the majority of people exploiting are already nolifing anyway so they'd be at the top of the boards either way. And the people who aren't nolifing and exploited will fall off the top spots in time.
Pure levels are barely an advantage, yes even 300 of em. IFthe exploit was "so this and drop perfectly rolled items" then you can rest assured, that stuffgets banned real quick.
Drama Queen;A person that reacts theatrically to minor difficulties.
DO NOT pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes. You have no idea how they may choose to handle this. My prediction is that they may call an early end to the season, and perhaps at that point, they may take action against any obvious offenders.
I think it's best that Blizzard take all the time they need to react appropriately. Wide-spread reactive bans can be akin to casting a large net, accidentally reeling in innocent people. It is far worse to convict an innocent person than to allow the guilty to go free. You understand all this clearly?
Just because they haven't been banned yet doesn't mean they won't be. Bliz will want to double and triple check who was actually using the exploit before they bring the hammer down. People got banned for duping gold well after the fix went into place.
its not hard to figuere out who the exploiters are when theyre sitting in town getting 70 bill exp an hour for hours on in im sorry. and if they were gonna ban people, they wouldve already im pretty sure. also paragon levels are a HUGE deal. i doubt anyone will hit 800 before seasons end and anything below that like cooldown reduction crit chance crit damage recource cost life per hit, you might as well be handing them better gear.
its not hard to figuere out who the exploiters are when theyre sitting in town getting 70 bill exp an hour for hours on in im sorry. and if they were gonna ban people, they wouldve already im pretty sure.
Oh you are, are you?
Why are you sure? Inside information? Keen knowledge of Blizzard's past practices? Are you SURE you know without a doubt that it's as easy as clicking a button to reveal exactly who exploited purposely?
Of course the leading streamers are an easy catch, but you have no idea of the logistics of this matter, that is a fact.
No paragon levels are not a big enough deal to significantly affect things like T6 Malth kill, Highest GRift, or speed running (which is actually a matter of effort put in not doing grifts more than anything else).
Exactly two "leaderboards" have been affected significantly. Levelboard (which was a non-constest for 90% of players anyway) and DPS (which hell, do they even display that?).
DO NOT pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes.
Isnt that what you just did?
No. I gave you an alternative to your over-the-top reaction. You are wholly ignorant to the goings on, as am I. Relax, enjoy the game and ignore the silliness of this event. There's much more to ladder play than what you're proposing, as if it's all ruined now.
It is not.
Much of this reaction by the immature and angst ridden fans reminds me of when Blizzard goofed way back when they accidentally made it so people could effectively print money using the RMAH gold stack glitch.
Everybody jumped on blizzard in mob fashion for a mistake, but few players pointed out that it was the players whom we should all be angry with.
Exploits being present in a game of this nature = a mistake.
Im gonna be honest anyone that says its difficult to see who cheated and who didnt whether it was on Malth or greater rift exploits is kidding themselves. Assuming you leveled up as they wanted you to a person who was around 700 would have about 10k bounties done. Anyone higher leveled than him with lower bounties exploited malth. As for the greater rifts its easy to see just because nobody should be able to gain over 100 levels in one day sitting in town. Even easier for them to ban the streamers as they do it on a live stream with many people watching it.
aight, was planning to play seasons until we get the WoW expansion but all this exploiting nonsense means I'll be going back sooner than expected.
The diablo team is horrible in punishing people. Some streamers really went too far but the diablo team only cares about money and publicity that they get through exploiting streamers.
everyone who says its not a big deal are cusuals who dont play a lot, anyone who worked hard for theyre paagons and actually is competing gets the back end of the stick not the casuals. so please if your not even close to being on the leaderboard you have no right to say that its not a big deal. and they should be banned to send a message, them not banning them is saying that its okay to exploit in a competitive game, which it should be with the leaderboards. i understant it doesnt effect the casuals, but that doesnt mean it doesnt affect a lot of us. how would you feel if you stayed up 36 hours the firt day of release then slept 6 hours everyday since and played all the time and then have someone exploit and pull ahead of you on paragon and potentially in the leaderboards in the near future. not fun.
the exploiters knew what they were doing was wrong, they knew it was cheating, and it even made a lot of people quit and even made alot of people quit the game for good. if exploits like this keep happening and the exploiters keep getting away with this i cant see this game making another successful expansion let alone have seasons be sucessful. everyone will take it as a joke. which it kind of is right now, gaining 300 levels in 1 day. that sure sounds like competition to me.
Edit: Also, please answer me how this in any way ruins your fun in the game. Please tell me. I don't care about your spot on the leaderboard, because I don't believe you had a top spot, and being anywhere else doesn't matter. So play the game to have fun, instead of focusing on the fact that other players are outgearing and outleveling you, since it has literally no impact on your experience in the game.
I am not involved with the competitive aspect of this game, or lack there of as you opine, but I can look around and see plenty that are invested. This topic raises a lot of ire so you don't have to look that far. That competition provides a carrot of fun for some. So regardless of how ineffectual it may seem to you or I, there are those that take it to heart when their chance at being reasonably competitive is nullified.
Thats blizzards theme fix the problem and hope the damage fixes itself and people turn the other way because they dont care about anything but money, and time fixing this is money wow is different because they make money on subs.
I believe the powers that be will take measures against the offending parties. I can't believe they would sweep it under the rug. They did take actions against the AH gold abusers after all. Although that was much more immediate. Perhaps they are unsure of the rectification or punishment? Guesses on my part but I do not feel justified in going wholly cynical about it just yet.

its been over a day now, i think they would've been banned or rolled back by now even if they were taking the're time. like i said blizzard would rather just pretend this never happened and hopes you will to, and again and again. this is why i didn't wanna play seasons, the mathiel exploit was out for over a month and they banned nobody, same with the gold exploit, and running t 6 rifts on lvl 1 chars then switching back to theyre 70 for max blood shards. you can do any exploit youd like and blizzard would not ban you if enough people do it. it takes time, it takes money, and they dont wanna waste money. i think them not doing anything proves that. theres people that cheated and are paragon like 600. not to mention theres a website that monitors paragon and people like to compete on that as well. thats completely ruined now. paragons are definitely enough to carry you an extra few greater rifts levels.

Id roll their accounts back to 2.1. They should have their nazi forum mods handle this.
