For last few weeks, there's been heaps of spam in General, Trade and Looking for group channels. Its unbearable for i had to leave the channels. I reported all of them for spamming but it looks like it doesn't work. What do you guys think, are you annoyed by this? Does blizzard know what happening to the chat channels??
I did the same thing. i actually maxed out my block list on spammers and continue reporting as soon as they start posting nonstop. But to no avail.... Its been out of hand for weeks now.
these days i just stay in rift runs and rift it forward and a couple other smaller channels. No more spam and still enjoy the game.
It's bizarre. I left the general channels (literally) years ago. But a workmate of mine has just picked up the game and was bitching about the amount of spam. I couldn't believe it - I thought the removal of trading and the AH would have killed the possibility of goldselling, yet when I looked over his shoulder, there it was. Endless goldselling spam.
How is it possible for people to be selling gold??
Well I think an easy way would be filtering the spam messages by keyword on the diablo servers, just like the swearing filter.
They tried that on WoW, just led to the usual sort of obfuscating tricks like "w w w . d o m a i n n a m e . c o m" in the spam. You don't want to get into an arms race like that with spammers, it never ends well.
Make Dyes vendor for 1gold each, problem fixed, well part of the problem atleast.
I couldn't agree more with this. With no auction house, there's no need for as many gold sinks as Blizzard originally implemented, so making these cost little to nothing makes perfect sense...especially considering they serve no purpose outside of changing your character's aesthetic appearance.
I have experimented with leaving General chat but for some reason, unless I am not in General, I get disconnected from bnet every 20 minutes or so because I 'timed out'
Note: BNET, not the internet.. fkn annoying.
My next best fix is using the arrow in the top right of chat to move to party or clan chat and effectively hide General whilst staying connected.

Dyes should be removed from the game alltogether and just give the mystic the ability to color our gear for a reasonable cost.

I read about it on another thread some time ago. Effectively, they give you loads of dyes (worth ~5k gold each) which you can then sell for gold.
lol.. just lol..
It's just whack-a-mole with these assholes isn't it? I'm sure we'll see dyes patched to be untradeable, and then they'll find some other way..
Yep, they are akin to cockroaches.
So long as people keep in mind that it is exactly these sorts of reasons why BoA was a success IMO. Sad to say that many people have to ignore a major social feature of the game due to the throngs of bottomfeeders always trying to profit from the creations of others.
I'd also like to point out that certainly, much of the more emotional, angry dissent against BoA came from either the people whom run these sites or otherwise profit from illicit sales, or people whom patronize these black markets.
I've really warmed up to BoA as a unique concept that gives D3 it's own flare. As much as I hear people whine about not being able to find a specific item, as if it is utterly necessary to have item 'X' in order to succeed at having fun with D3, I can't help but to feel that people are thinking about the issue the wrong way.
The challenge in D3 is how well you can build around the gear you DO have, as opposed to incessantly worrying about just 1 item. If you play, you will find lots of very powerful gear, maybe not the 1 item you want, but the idea is to make the most of it until you do find specific gears. I feel the fun of this concept is lost on many folks, as we know, most people don't embrace change.
There drops so much now, I'm making more by just picking it up than I made on the AH.
And once the Goblin rifts get patched in, gold will be without value.
I know people who are still stuck on hard/master.... even though they have the gear for T5, their ability to react and move out of stuff is really bad so they die often. Their gold goes away really quickly because they don't make much from drops and re-rolling gets expensive.
