I would really like to see legendary items that are super good ultimately adding a lot more fun to the game. I used the Shard of Hate "bug" when it was still unpatched not just because it was super powerful but because it was very fun and efficient to go around and completely destroy monsters to a certain extent. Seeing items added with super fun and powerful procs is still something Diablo is missing and I would really like to see something of the sort added.
I dunno; I think the trouble is "mandatory" or "overpowered" legendaries is that while it may be fun for the people who find them, it causes a lot of butt-hurt for the people who don't. Variety in legendaries is good. Overpoweredness, not so good.
SoJ for example, should have come with EITHER high elemental damage OR high elite damage; it coming with both makes it a far superior choice for *most* builds. Which means people still hunting for one, or needing one on an alt, are left feeling impotent until they find one.
I agree with that, but farming is the name of the game. The more you farm the better the gear. The SoJ besides the point isn't what I was shooting at, the old Shard of Hate was fun. The game is lacking a lot of that aspect.

Absolutely; and the trouble with having outstanding legendaries is that people who don't farm as much have *better* gear because they are lucky. By having them more in line with each other, the player who plays more is more likely to have the better gear; rather than the person who lucks out and gets something like Shard of Hate or Wand of Woh in their first rift.
Incidently I have nothing against players being lucky; and I'm not particularly trying to complain about that. But I certainly feel the frustration that my friends feel when they are left farming for one last rare legendary that is so strong it will make their build twice as effective. I'd prefer to buff the underpowered legendaries to be as strong as the outliers than any nerfs I'm sure a lot of people on this forum want "higher quality" lgendaries (Flavour of Time anyone?)
thats the thing i actually miss in RoS atm, the feel i got playing my old 400k dps unbuffed perma wrath ww barb.
now that was a feeling of power that nothing else in the game so far has captured. im not saying they should bring back the old ww barb or anything, just a few items to capture that feel again. my wand of woh did it a little, opening up a new playstyle while adding some power to my character. but i feel there are way to few items in the game like that.
Why not just turn down the difficulty level if you want to feel ridiculously OP? Have you played Normal difficulty lately?

Are you talking about the Wand of Woh and Furnace? Those items especially the Wand of Woh only work to a certain point. The furnace is only good for elites. The other rare swords like the Shard of Hate and Thunderfury aren't actually that great.
There needs to be more items that are capable of taking the worst skills in the game and making them viable, rather then finding most of the uninspired junk that drops right now. Example, I found a belt, it's legendary unique ability is that it casts haunt at 5 enemies when you open a chest, WHO THE FUCK CARES!
Why not just play normal in T6 gear? I feel incredibly powerful walking to a group of monsters and have them fall over just because I'm getting closer...
I agree with AeneasBK, the problem with super powered legendaries such as the prenerf Shard of Hate, or even the SoJ, is that they're pretty much expected at high end. Do they feel great? Sure, but people whom are unlucky are left feeling like they're simply being carried in the game. Player A and Player B being exact duplicates except player A has an SoJ and player B has any other ring, Player A could be doing 50% more damage to elites... Cause of one item.
Is the SoJ great? Of course. Is it perhaps too powerful? I think so. Legendaries in general need to have a fairly close delta to keep legendary drops interesting. If a legendary ring drops for me now, I don't care at all unless it's an SoJ, Unity, or RRoG so I can potentially get a better version than my current ones. The other rings offer nothing that can even begin to compare. They may as well be white items. This is a problem imo. Pick any other ring, give it the most opitmal, max stat rolls for my Crusader, and I wouldn't take it over my optimal, less than max stat rolls of my other three (four counting the one on my follower).
We already have people crying foul when you find a build that works well, just imagine someone finding these super duper legendaries? I think the game is fine where it stands, you can stack 60%+ ele dmg, 50%+ elite dmg it just takes time piecing everything together. I already have no issues in solo or group play on T6, I would get VERY bored if it got easier.
No. Sets are so slick right now, when considering the rorg, that Leg armors are falling by the wayside. Specifically the armors (chest/pants/bracer/shoulder/belt/boots) just cannot compete with most classes set bonuses when considering the rorg. My 6 piece Akkhan/3 piece Captain Crimson bonuses make any consideration of replacing them with standard Legs impossible.

So you just said you agree with me with the fact that there are already "super powered legs".

talk about missing the point
What's the point that I'm missing?
Oh, I know what it is. When you say that you miss that feeling of power, you don't actually mean that you miss that feeling of power. You mean that you want to feel that feeling of power whilst still getting the very best rewards the game has to offer.
Well, tough. You say you want insane OP'ness. So play Normal. But you won't get the l00t that you really want.
