as for the jade set, ye it is op, but that's because of how creeping death works with it and as op at it might be, lets be honest, getting 5 parts takes so much luck and gameplay that unless blizz will buff the drops they can let this unchanged.
I agree that the pet build is not "OP" although I would like to mention that I think it would be more acceptable if the fetishes were from Fetish Sycophants so that the WD actually had to attack to maintain the army as opposed to from Fetish Army whereby the WD doesn't actually have to attack to have them active. That would not be a major nerf in terms of DPS, but it would be a major nerf to mobility which I think is more than fair for the pet spec.
As for the DoT spec, I'll reiterate what I said before. I don't think ANY ability should be able to one-shot elites on T6. So I think the way that the Jade Harvester set coupled with Creeping Death and the mask works should be revisited so that soul harvest can't fuck things up to that degree. It would ultimately be a "nerf" but I think that having a "no ability can one-shot elites on T6" philosophy is a good thing for ALL classes.
I will agree that most people just don't have the gear to support this kind of thing. I have two very-badly-rolled JH pieces and a mediocre mask myself. I'm ages away from being able to do this and I do think that people who get the "rarest of the rare" gear should get to feel pretty damned powerful (Earthquake set + Lut Socks is a great example of that kind of power too). So ultimately I don't think it's a HUGE deal.
Perhaps the JH set allows for too much +damage to elites from other pieces?
They are insanely OP. Pets just scale to well and they have an abundance of OP items.
I switched from a Crusader to a WD and absolutely love it. I was extremely lucky and got 3 pc Zunis in my first 20 hours of farming and be able to do T6 in that short amount of time (makes up for 120 hours on Crusader and 0 set items)
Only decent pieces of gear I've got are: Zuni boots/offhand/ring (awful rolls) and a MoJ. I've spent ~13K shards on gloves so far and have got 3 frostburns but still no tasker and theo. Once I get tasker and theo i'll start trying for a starmetal kukri.
With my current shit gear i'm pulling 50M dps and 75M burst with BBV up. With optimal gear this build would be more than capable of pulling consistant 100M dps and having close to 50-75% uptime on BBV.
The items synergise so well and pets scale stupidly well.
I have 8-12 fetishes up hitting for ~7M (~12M in optimal gear). 3 dogs hitting for a pathetic 600K (1M in optimal gear) but with 10K LoH i'm also getting healed constantly for about 20-30K hps which is nice for face tanking stuff in T6. All these pets are great for tanking mobs and proper use of piranhado stuff will never be near you. You'll never die with proper use of spirit walk and the occasional spirit vessel proc. This build is all about staying alive as you can prioritise staying alive without a massive loss to your dps. Not channeling firebats is only a 30% dps loss so you can literally just afk and still be doing 70% of your maximum dps - very OP.
Starmetal Kukri is such a great item - if you're running wth 2 x Zuni WDs with it you've got close to 100% uptime on BBV which is a great buff.
CC from piranhado, pet tanks, 15% dmg (piranhado), 25% AS/30% dmg (BBV) - what's not to love about havign a WD in your party.
So to recap:
You are doing really well on your WD and have 3 pieces of Zuni, after claiming they are your only decent pieces of gear. You have also rolled enough shards to get 3 Frostburns which are incredibly rare. You also state that your Crusader has 0 set items. You do realize that the Zuni set is just as rare as your Crusaders gear, you just got lucky, and have managed to quickly outgear your crusader?
It is odd how my wizard friend, who plays 1/3 as much as I do, has managed to find some amazing items (2 set pieces, 2420 damage Sever) and now does more damage than I do. Since ROS I have found exactly 1 set armor piece, blackthornes boots, so I don't think we should be declaring WD OP based on some very hard to assemble gear (yes getting 3 set pieces in 20hrs is very lucky).
Looking at the drop chances posted, StarMetal and Taker and Theo are two of the rarest items in the entire game. Players who find both should generally be fairly rare.
you are right, grave injustice IS good. but the thing is it has ALWAYS been there since launch and it wasnt changed at all. before the pet "buff" , i believe the WD was very underused due to its perception of being weak (it wasn't actually that weak). ultimately, it is the pet buff and the 2 videos showing 200+m garg crits, and 1b+ soul harvest hits that went viral and the main cause of this "OP" blame.
and now that all the bandwagonners are checking the WD out BECAUSE of those 2 things, people are only now finding that it is quite powerful especially with the pet buff. i wish they would nerf the pet damage abit and induce bandwagonners to leave and stop the complaining, beacuse i sitll would be playing the WD because it is a FUN class ever since the beginning.
i wish all the bandwagoners would just leave and play other classes.
And if you think WD is at a bad place without BiS items, you couldn't be farther from the truth.
Crusader and Barbarians who are top runner ups after WD in terms of effectiveness are both totally garbage without having multiple pieces of their BiS gear(Especially Barbarian!!!).
I think this thought should be explored in more depth. I totally get what you're saying, but the one thing I have difficulty with is evaluating how "equal" gear is across two classes.
I think it's a bit hyperbolic to say barbs and crusaders are "totally garbage" without multiple pieces of "BiS gear." Are you saying that a barb with a full Earthquake set and Lut Socks is "total garbage" if they're not rolled perfectly? Because, to me, "BiS gear" implies that not only is it the right item (Lut Socks) but also very well-rolled. To me, a poorly-rolled pair of Lut Socks is not "BiS."
So maybe there's an inherent difference in how we define "BiS" that's clouding my understanding of what you're trying to say?

Instead of reading the first few lines of my post - read it all and you'll see a few of my explanations why I think WD are the strongest class atm.
The REAL reason the Set Bonus is broken right now, is because of the way crits are applied with DoT spells. I assume everyone knows that crit yes/no is determined for the entire duration of a DoT ON APPLICATION. Creeping Death makes a DoT last almost 5 minutes (2.5 with quetz).
The damage difference between non-crit and crit for the ENTIRE duration of a DoT is...tremendous. For instance a non crit-haunt ticks for three million its entire duration (2.5-5 min), a crit haunt ticks for 20 million for it's entire duration. The difference in damage between crit and non crit, caused by this BROKEN mechanic, is ridiculously large. For instance a non crit consumed Haunt would do 60 mil (big number ofcourse), a crit consumed haunt does 800 (my highest crit SH crit has been 2.8 bil) mil.
I disagree completely.
In fact, your last sentence shows exactly what is broken.
If 6pc JH is indeed critting, that means it's double-dipping in crit damage. You get a crit dot, roll that damage up, and then allow it to crit again? There is no way that's not broken.
Now he doesn't have any appropriate weaknesses, is that fair?
Definitely not. This stems from SMK (and Zuni's) making the "pet build" centered on Fetish Army instead of Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan.
If the "pet build" required Fetish Sycophants and, thereby, required the WD to attack to maintain their pets, it would seem significantly less "OP" than it currently does. Pre-2.0 I argued pretty strongly against AFK pet builds and that is the major issue I see with this build. The player doesn't really HAVE to do anything. They can if they like, but they can feel free to go 100% glass cannon and never attack while letting their pets still do very very strong damage.
If they tweaked the items to move away from Fetish Army and towards Fetish Sycophants, most of the issue here would be solved and it would help to make the build "feel" more in-line with other builds.
The fact that Zombie Dogs aren't really used in top-end pet builds is quite bothersome to me. "Pets" should really amount to more than just Fetish Army. But, I have a pretty strong feeling that almost every set bonus is going to be re-balanced before we see ladders. It's obvious that some are really good (JH, Zunis, Earthquake, etc.) and others are complete trash (Helltooth, etc.). The "good" ones tend to enable builds. The "bad" ones tend not to - I just don't see anyone making a Wall of Zombies build even with that set bonus, for example.
