I didn't hear anything about 1.5 hours. I heard they found 6 in a play through of Act 3. Who knows what they did during that act. They could have explored every inch of the map and done all the dungeons that spawned. This was also before they removed MF, judging by the puzzle ring in the video. He said the character was a level 40 paragon, so you're missing a 120 to MF that you used to get from paragon right there. This video is also 7 months old and before the beta.
Legendaries did used to drop a lot more. It's just that 99.9% of them were trash and even the salvage wasn't that useful.
Now we get far fewer legendary drops, but they're supposed to be "legendary" rather than "probably crap".. but.. that's a slightly different subject.
Anyway, yea.. when you have 300%+ magic find and you're able to kill hundreds of mobs in seconds, legendaries are going to drop. Doesn't mean their affixes, rolls or over all itemization is any good... but they did drop a lot more then, than they do now, for some people. You had to have enough MF and the ability to go through the content fast enough to really get higher drop rates per hour.
Where did he say 1.5 hours. He said a run through act 3.
How long does it take to clear Act3 from start to end?
Right around 1 Hour to 1,5.
But if you want to compair your own Numbers to those from the Blizzcon Announcment, i dare all of you:
Run a simple Act3 with all Quests etc, write down your drops... and post em here.
Act 3 clear through, no idea but why would I do that? If we remove that aspect of what hes saying and simply thought about how you farm now which is rifts then I would say those numbers are about right. Since the 100% buff yesterday me and my friends have played maybe 10 hours, yes we have to much spare time and between around the 15 of us we've averaged 8 legs/hour so it's actually higher than what hes saying and yes 150 hours isn't a huge pool of information when rng is considered but it's all I got.
Sadly though, I am feeling the effects of no trading now as i've only needed a few items for about a week meaning i've salvaged everything i've found which is getting kinda dull I don't even get excited when I see a leg drop anymore as 99% of the time it's just another soul.
Dude why are you wasting your time on this? The drop rate is fine. Do you expect to be fully heard a few weeks after the expansion? Finding good gear takes time. I play 4-6 hours a day and I find between 5-10 legendaries a session. Thats pretty good I'm my eyes. sometimes you will have and luck with drops. Get over it.
it's all random. You could run A3 all day and each run you will find a different amount of legendaries. Theres will never be "if you play this long you will get this many legendaries"
Bullshit - the loot drop rate sucks now period. It was fine before that first 25% bump up to Rifts. Now even after the 100% bump - it still sucks. I go DAYS of playing 3-4 hours at a time without seeing a SINGLE damn Green drop. None. Its the same crappy trash 2handers over and over.
Its not all Random. This isn't gaming in early 2000s.
They can fix it if they want. Gaming Technology today can assure its NOT random and instead drops follow a consistent flow rate -- there is no reason for the drops to not be consistent for everyone, PERIOD. Why the F*&K do you deserve 5-10 Legendaries during your play, but the next guy/gal doesn't?? It can be corrected if they want too.

This wasn't a Blizzcon announcement. This was a Gamescon announcement almost a full 3 months before Blizzcon.

Its called RNG - fact
If playing makes you this mad then diablo isnt for you, it should be fun to play. Not to cause you and others around you to think you need to chillax.
They could fix it, but theres nothing to fix. Rng is Rng
Lol. Okay so lets just make e very drop a legendary then. Once you're done finding items, whats left? I swear people will just find anything to complain about. It shouldn't take you a week to deck out an entire character, it should be a continual process.
I've done 4 rifts and gotten only 1 forgotten soul from a rift boss and thats AFTER the changes. I've also done nearly 3 full clears of all act bounties and gotten only 1 shit legendary as well AFTER the buff. RNG is RNG stop the moaning.

I disagree. I have yet to go a night without a legendary drop. Seeing a green drop is not how you should base you're legendary drop rate. People doesn't deserve jack it's just luck. I've hand my good nights and bad, where I find 1 in a night.
It can be corrected? what are you talking about? if everyone got the same number of legendary drops every time they played this game would be boring and you would get BiS gear way to fast and then the game is done. You have to have times where you get a lot of drops and times where you get very little. It will keep you playing for the nights where you are showered with legendaries.
Random means random. If you want a guaranteed 6 legendaries every 1.5 hours then you are playing the wrong kid of game.

This whole thread comes down to using old dated information to try and prove Blizzard is out to get you. We should debate whether the sun revolves around the earth or the earth revolves around the sun, it would be a better use of time. Just let me find some really old scroll stating it real fast.
They have a system for that in place. If after 2 hours no legendary has been found, steadily increase drop rate over time. I haven't gone a single playthrough without getting one. At LEAST 1. sometimes i'll find 2 or 3, maybe this time i found crafting mats instead. It's random what you find but how often you're finding what is considered to be a legendary is pretty good imho.

Wait one damn second. 6 legendaries per 1.5 hours is 4 legendaries/hour.
The issue is that YOU are interpreting what timeframe "an act 3 clear" means. Neither you nor I know what Blizzard was thinking when they said that. Although I have to say that it seems reasonable that they were thinking closer to 3 hours and not 90 minutes. Four legendaries/hour seems a bit... overkill.
Why you'd get so hung up on a pre-alpha slideshow from before they had all the features fleshed out, let alone implemented, is beyond me. For example, I'm pretty sure they didn't have Kadala at that point, yet she clearly contributes to your legendary intake rate.

There are no lies but guys like you who complain way to much over stop rates.

Here is the blue post on it.
You're not going to go 3 days without finding a legendary, not a mat, a legit legendary slot item.
