I might add that when this creeps up all tracerts and pathpings indicate that it's a node on AT&Ts network that has very high ping and packet loss. I really hope this isn't a case of AT&T trying to get more money from Blizzard because that would be truly a sad day for the internet.
Well I started this thread and thought I would up date my status since then.
I lowered my sound channel to 16 and that helped but I still come to a stand still a lot and the biggest problem is that Every game I get disconnected. I can not even make it thru one act, some times I barely get started.
Because of the disconnects it is not worth playing, I just hope something is done by time of ROS launch. But I am not holding my breath on that because the slack response from Blizzard on this issue and the many people having the same problem means nothing much is being done about it.

It's an issue with a handoff between XO Communication and AT&T. Almost everyone's tracerts and pingpaths are showing massive packet loss (and latency) at a singular AT&T node. Unfortunately Blizzard cannot fix this. But as such a large customer they obviously can call and complain and I sincerely hope their complaints (and technical know-how) doesn't fall on deaf ears... but it's AT&T so who the hell knows?
That being said, they still should be communicating better with us. This has been a week-long issue that really is making things miserable for players (I was going to level every class to 60 in HC because of the 50% XP buff... that didn't pan out very well because lag killed me more than once). And it's simply not good to let something like this go unaddressed with a huge expansion on the horizon.
This is a prime issue where information flow would make things seem much better... even if it means Josh has to make a forum post or tweet in between pints of green beer.

I've been lagging and getting disconnected for days.
Game is near-unplayable since 6 PM (EST).
I totally was looking forward to getting some Paragon levels tonight.

2 PM EST, though, and it's all back.
And here I was actually ready to pre-order and play RoS. /meh
