My Pig Sticker was awesome, it meant some damage loss compared to my former wand, but it came with an amazing healing boost that I was needing. And the sound makes me chuckle every time...
Maybe if you guys start thinking about the game as a game instead of a math test you'll enjoy more
Well, i could understand that if the items itself were bad. But in all three cases those items are very good (if not extraordinary), even if very very specific.
Slorak's Madness can give you up to 30% damage to Disintegrate. 30! I don't think there is a lot of disintegrate builds in the end game, but that weapon is certainly something that could make you consider one.
Pig Sticker gives you +30% damage to beasts/humans. While obviously not very common enemies in the game, there are some including almost wholeWhimsyshire (or even whole? I'm not sure about the flower enemies). Again, it is very specific as probably not many people visit Whimsyshire, but it can certainly may give you a push to do so if you'll be able to clear the place 30% faster, can't it?
And as for The Paddle, while it doesn't have any game changing stuff, it still have guaranteed: +Damage, +Damage %, LoH and Dexterity. Isn't that a nice combo that could practically guarantee you a high damage? That is if the 2h weren't bugged as they currently are (or so I've heard, I don't play them myself).
That's why i still don't understand the hate. The orange text may be funny but the items certainly are not. Their uses are fairly limited, but so are all items that boost one certain skill.
As for the fourth wall, I guess that depends on the person, as it doesn't really bother me too much.
nope you're absolutely right about that the 30% boost in both of those weapons is incredible. the comical affixes im sure appeal to LOADS of people...
but my stance is kind of personal and tricky to articulate...and is only being showcased for the sake of the discussion...
as far as the new affixes in the 3rd overhaul of legendary items are concerned, a lot of them are amazing. but they are only "amazing" when compared to the shit from the previous 2 revisions. the first being the first iteration of all legendarys the second being the first overhaul.
taking the past 2 years into consideration has a real souring effect....
30%weapons that increase a damage type or a skill type by a percentage, like Slorak's or the pig sticker etc...should be showcased before the game is released. not experimentally rolled out 2 years after the release.......
but this is just in response to the "hate" perceived when viewing the legendary item landscape. when i hear the word "hate" I imagine my own personal hate. and thats what it actually is item wise; that the first 2 years of the game (its mostpreciousand populated) were basically billions of items in all colours being rolled in the field, identified and thrown into a shit filled toilet.
my VERY first legendary was 140 hours into the game struggling through act 1 inferno as a demon hunter. how much dps did it have? 165. bleed damage? 28-34. I should show you, i kept the screen shot......
So yes hate is hard to describe. and when I do it its really based on my own perceptions. but I can't help but feel that those perceptions are shared among many many people. even tonight after work....I'd love to go into the game and try out the new patch.....but any 2 handed legendary item that drops is glitched. it is known about by developers it will roll broken and grossly underpowered stats and won't be fixed for god knows how long.....
so taking the past into consideration and then having a legendary drop with a comical or non character improving or altering stat which of course will probably work flawlessly (LOL)...........is just.....ENGENNNEEEGGGH@!!!111

I found a legendary ring with Int, Vit, Armor, and Block %. I just stared at the screen, not knowing what to do besides get frustrated and blow it up.
Justice Lantern is a damn fine ring in HC play if you use a shield.
I'm seeing one issue already. People are so cynical, they won't take the time to understand the "depth and complexity" they've been clamoring for.
I don't play on HC or use a shield. I understand that it could be useful in that regard, maybe. There's still probably a better ring to use than that though.
It looks to me that people want new stats but then complain that the item does not have the main stat, vit, crit chance and crit damage, and the couple of other stats.
I guess they just want those stats but much higher.

Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

I stand by my statement. People wanted more depth and complexity, they got it. Yet, when folks find an item that doesn't serve their playstyle/character class well, they often fly-off hollering that said item is junk.
To respond to your last line; HC isn't a DPS race like SC. In HC, when you find a ring that adds to your block percentage AND it comes with vita, Main stat and armor....... There may not be a smarter choice for the HC player.
Point being, you made it sound like some of these items are a mistake. As if these items dropping for you is irritating and something should be done about it.....whatever.
Let us not forget, Diablo 2's itemization is championed here by many as the high-water mark of ARPG's. There were many Friday nights and freezing cold Indiana winter days where I would do 50 Meph runs, only to be prized with Isenhardt's, Griswold's Armor, Bartuc's etc etc etc......
There is no rush when you find a great item if you haven't found a hundred pieces of shit just before it. Bad drops (perceived or real) are what makes great drops....well, great. People should keep that thought in their minds when blasting their critique.
