Interaction with the Diablo 3 AI (PvE) can become stale easily and the item find isn't enough to keep players engaged and returning to the game since eventually players will outgear the content. Diablo needs interaction between players in a competitive sense to keep them coming back. Are there any plans to implement some type of PvP or PvPvE or type of competitive system eventually or what are your thoughts of incorporating some type of competitive system?

Yes, that is precisely what he said. This isn't documented anywhere in-game, which seems like a huge misstep to me. A simple tool-tip saying, "Hey, this does more damage than at first glance, I swear," wouldn't kill them.

Just check this in game, because why not and although on normal Thorns isn't scaling, on the PTR (I don't have beta :'() it not only scales.. it scales WELL.
On live and on my PTR character sheet my Barb is showing 1171 thorns... But then on the PTR when I actually go out and let things hit me, the damage is a little over 7000, might be worth sendinf feedback to Blizz, to see if they can actually make the character sheet show the REAL value of thorns, not just the amount on gear...
So I think it's safe to say that with a full Thorns set you could actually do VERY nice damage... Just a shame Iron Maiden the Crusader Thorns passive is such balls

So the passive does not scales with the mainstat? Maybe thats a bug . They need to scale it
after all thorns values(passive included) are counted for and then * the scale value
I can't say for sure, because I'm not in the Beta
But When I said the passive is balls, I meant compared to the Warrior passive Tough as Nails(25% armor and 50% increased thorns damage), the crusader version is super weak (~6k thorns) Now of course Iron Maiden becomes alot better when you count scaling into that, as the 6k damage becomes a far higher number after the main stat damage increase, BUT if you were going for a serious thorns build the 50% increased damage from the warrior passive is still better at high thorns values.
I think the best solution is the one Mannercookie brought up in his latest Crusader video, change iron maiden to something along the lines of 25% increased Thorns damage and turn Thorns to Holy damage, from Physical.
Nice math there Randomice, I could see a Barbarian thorns build being fairly viable, HIGH Str, get the armor set that makes your Thorns AoE and the bracers that let your thorns apply on every swing you make, get a super fast weapon, stack attack speed and defensive stats... Could be fun
