hahahahaha kinda funny he shows this fucking terrrribly geared monk trying like MP10 to compare it to the barb.
Not saying barb isn't OP.... it is. but when a video is so clearly biased and retarded it makes me mad they couldn't even do it properly. I can make any class 50 mil set and get a decent clear speed. prolly about 65-75% of the barb speed.
i could easily make a barb look shitty with the way he made that monk look. its all about perspective.
The Monk in the video has 10k more DPS and is playing 1MP higher in act 2 and yes the video is bias'ed to exaggerate and highlight the point made....also the barb video play speed is at 200%.
A skill used by noone is still better than a skill used by everyone. You have choices in one and you don't in the other.
Edit: Anything that give you something per hit/kill can and will be abused. Like how at the start of Diablo 3 people only used fast one-handed weapons to get more healing from LoH. If you change into the fray 1 fury per hit, then people will only use dual daggers to gain more fury. Even if you make it 1 fury per kill, then people will ignore defense, stack as much damage as possible, and never go beyond torment for farming just to have infinite fury.
Ya I remember that, attack speed was soooo insane. I think it was nerfed by %50.
i considered barb OP from BETA up until now he wasn't always best at everything but he always felt strongest / easiest.
The early days were interesting. Barbs (and Monks) were heavily panned by "the masses" as being completely useless. It was an absolute article of faith that melee sucked. It was only when the hardcore world firsts started getting done by melee classes that the mob sat up and paid attention.
That's what people want then let them play like that. Why do you preached choices but only allow the "choices" you approved?
Because that choice makes every other choice obsolete; and it is not a "choice" anymore. If every other thing is equal, would you take the higher paying job or the lower one? Would you buy the more expensive car or the cheaper one? The same goes for the game. If a skill gives 10 dps and the other 1000, most people will use the one gives you 1000 dps.

Exactly. Then why do you not preaching all skill give the same damage so people can choice? Why HOTA give 400+ while WW give like 150. Why bash give 165 and frenzy give 115? The whole balance speech is broken because the whole thing is off DPS. Because it is off DPS, of course, people will go with the skills give out the most DPS.
Every wizard use living lighting as a primary skill because it is AoE and put out a lot of damage. Why don't you go nerf that so it hit 1 target like her other primary skill?
Living Lightning is hardly "the best" primary. It all depends on your build and the other skills you're using. Just blindly grabbing the highest damage skills with no thought for synergy isn't the best way to approach this game.
As someone already said in this thread, WW costs way, way less Fury per damage than HotA or SS. But that goes without saying, doesn't it?

You either are really dense or know nothing bout the game. Why does hota do more weapon damage than WW? WW has a much bigger AOE and hits faster than HoTA, so the skills are balanced. There are give and takes, if a skill hits harder its usually slower and/or hits a smaller area.
And living lightning doesnt do a lot of damage, people mainly use it for its proc rate.
Ras, there is no sense in arguing. Save your energy for the upcoming addon. You, the other experienced players and I will have to bear enough as soon as the addon is published.* See you probably in the next PTR RoS patch.
I hear ya, I just couldnt help it. One more month to go!

Do you have a learning disability or something?
HotA has a smaller area of effect, cannot be cast while moving, and costs more fury than WW does. They're called tradeoffs and they may not be PERFECTLY balanced, but this has very little to do with WotB which, even given some bit of variance among skills being inevitable, along with Archon, was so ridiculously good that aside from some specific applications for HotA specs, there wasn't much reason to be anything but WW at all times.
This has a tie-in with resource generation and that's why you're seeing them try to figure out how to make Barbs, Wizards, and WDs play more like monks and DHs in that they don't simply try to circumvent the resources at every opportunity.
If you think the only part of "balance" among skills is the % weapon damage their tooltip shows... then you are simply too uneducated to speak to the subject. By that logic, Pile On would clearly be one of the best skills in the game. But it's not. Why is that?
