I was just making a comment that enchanting is expensive and wasting gold on obsolete items now seems such a waste unless you bought gold or were a AH baron.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
Whoever is in favor of this decision are complete and utter FUCKING RETARDS who have not played a single moment of Beta.
ONE single REROLLED vanilla item makes it into my T4+ builds. that item is an SoJ. And even then it is only used in ONE build. And that is because i have not found the beta version yet.
The stupidity of you people belongs on the official Bnet forums with the rest of the trolls and QQ'rs over there.
Let me give you one clear example of why this is an utter disaster of a decision. What they have in effect now done is make the Wizard class even more crippled than they already have by not letting the new leg's roll APoC. And now we can't reroll Vanilla wands to be used is a fucking joke.
There is literally 0 people in this thread who have a clue about what they are talking about.
People who spend their times on forums regardless of which forum seem to share this issue.
Blizzard made a decision to effectively remove enchanting from the game outside of ROS items.
This is not the issue.
The issue is that they made this decision based off incorrect information/feedback.
Something they've made a habit of doing over and over again due to the strong vocal feedback of a small group of players who do not play this game at all, actually let me rephrase that, people who have no understanding of this game.
If you actually played the ROS beta and actually took the time to understand the itemization you would understand that 60 items do all get replaced and have little value but they allow players to easily transition past the meaningless difficulties (Under T1), which in my eyes isn't a bad thing considering it will be a small % of players who took the time and effort to progress in preparation of ROS.
This was a design feature they have been promising us all along, similar to how they promised so many features that were never implemented into this game (looking for threads like this will edit in later).
You guys can cry and troll at me all you want, at the end of the day, nearly every single person that posts on this thread are looking from the outside and coming to conclusions with incomplete information, blizzard included.
Do you guys even think for a second if you were someone who has been playing this game all this time then a bunch of new players who don't even play this game comes back and say I'm so glad all your gear and progression is useless TROLOL.
I just don't understand people like this, there is a simple solution that allows everyone who enjoys the game to do so. Why do you really care that someone has an advantage over you in ROS? It's well deserved if someone put 1000s of hours into their character and you have not.
Why would you want a core base of players who has kept this title going and improved the meta of how this game is approached so that all players enjoy it better to be literally abused where the sun don't shine. Why is there even hate towards people who spend time playing D3 in the first place? So once you guys start playing the game and when this happens to you, I guess you should all stfu and stop crying too with the logic you guys all seem to share.
At the end of the day the only people who truly lose are your so-called "casual" players who don't keep up to date religiously on fansites or bnet forums. People who are only paying attention to blizz updates and are late to this key information change.
I personally find it very amusing that this announcement wasn't made on the battle.net front page for D3 so that as many players as possible saw this IMPORTANT information.
Why post this game-changing update on a 2 week old thread where only ROS feedback players can post, and on top of that I think by this point 90%+ of the beta testers don't even post there because of all the clutter in the forums.
Jealousy and envy only get you so far in life gentlemen, another pro tip.
[Level] 60 items do all get replaced and have little value but they allow players to easily transition past the meaningless difficulties (Under T1), which in my eyes isn't a bad thing considering it will be a small % of players who took the time and effort to progress in preparation of ROS.
This was a design feature they have been promising us all along, similar to how they promised so many features that were never implemented into this game (looking for threads like this will edit in later).
You're not wrong, it is a good thing for Level 60 items to be upgradeable. Thing is...Blizzard is doing all they can to get rid of the added advantage the Auction House afforded, or at least, if not get rid of it, minimize it where they can reasonably. What you're not getting is, those AH campers who are pushing over 800k DPS will still be able to farm high Torment levels IMMEDIATELY when Patch 2.0.1 goes live.
Meaning 2 things:
1) They'll still have a pretty considerable advantage over guys like me, who self-founded my way to barely being able to handle MP7, and will need considerable gear upgrading before I can handle even Torment 2.
2) Within even ONE LOUSY WEEK of Patch 2.0.1 farming, those AH campers will likely find a ton of Loot 2.0 quality legendaries, complete with new and shiny legendary effects, and will be reworking builds before Reaper of Souls is even released. Yes, they may only be level 60 items, but if they come with nice effects, they still might be build-changers that are hard to move away from. Plus, as the Blue post says, Patch 2.0.1 items WILL be Enchantable. The ones that won't be is Legacy gear, BEFORE the Patch. So like I said...unless people are refusing to play anything but RoS, people will still have gear to Enchant, provided they have the mats for it ready to go...which they might not.
That's the part of the "itemization" that all of us lowly mortals don't seem to understand, yet you don't seem to be explaining beyond "60 items have no value."
Do you guys even think for a second if you were someone who has been playing this game all this time then a bunch of new players who don't even play this game comes back and say I'm so glad all your gear and progression is useless TROLOL.
Really...I don't understand? You mean like how I'd go to the official forums for the past year and a half, talking about how much healthier a way to play self-found is than camping the AH, and having rich jerks bitch at me that my gear looks like it's owned by a poor person? Especially people who, when I look at their profile on D3, DWARF my dps after only 100 hours?
Yeah, I have no idea what it's like to have new players tell me my gear is useless. No friggin clue...
Why do you really care that someone has an advantage over you in ROS? It's well deserved if someone put 1000s of hours into their character and you have not.
It probably doesn't show on my online internet profile, but I've put over 1500 hours into my live game account. Feel free to call me a "no-lifer" over that, but I have put tons of hours into ALL my characters. And I don't mind other people having some level of advantage over me. It's the reason I had no problem when people were BEGGING for there to be a full, complete, 100% account wipe when the expansion goes live. I've hated the AH for a while, yet I don't care about AH campers having an advantage over me, because it's not as much as it seems to other people...ya know...like the people who actually have that advantage, and are afraid of it not being as strong as they originally thought it was.
Got any other raging that needs getting done?
At the end of the day the only people who truly lose are your so-called "casual" players who don't keep up to date religiously on fansites or bnet forums. People who are only paying attention to blizz updates and are late to this key information change.
Not going to comment on the rest of your post, but this is completely wrong. The 'casual' player you mention will not be affected at all as they just won't have the gold that would have allowed said re-rolling, and certainly won't have the absolute perfect BiS items that will be viable at lvl70 with a good re-roll.
I would almost certainly come under your definition of causal player and playing the PTR with my best char I had found 2 upgrades in 20 minutes.
Just saying but I'm not going to even bother responding to people who don't take the time to read what they write before posting it nor properly take the time to understand what exactly is going on in ROS beta before commenting on how ROS is.
awww...poor widdle stweamer realizes no one gives a crap about his opinion and it carries no weight. I hope you enjoy all that AH trash you have stockpiled too.
If you have good gear already you should be doing T1 from the start. I dunno how different T1 is on PTR than Beta but it's fine even without the rerolls... It just takes time to kill since you need to stack ehp...
I'm in favor of the decision. They had to clear the loot palette.
Any game that increases the level cap usually means that the top is no longer the top... everyone moves ahead and finds new and exciting things.
It's good and keeps things fresh. Sorry you feel jipped because you spent a ton on hours in D3V, but what were you gonna do in RoS? Just faceroll for another 2000+ hours? Where is the excitement in that.
This all is coming to back to it's a GAAAAAME! L2 have fun!
You mean in a new game (or half a new game if you don't want to consider an expansion a new game) you expect to roll T6 off the bat? Wow, I mean that's like going into MP10 once you hit 60 at release (even though that mode didn't exist, who even remembers how impossible inferno was at release?). I have to farm items and progress through all the T's.... what BS is this? I thought the point of games was to get everything all at once and move onto the next game in 40 hours.
Have a feeling I need to bust this photo every few posts the way things have been going... So be prepared.
Mocking aside. I really am surprised that this seems to have shocked so many people. Most of the these people, even if they won't admit it played WoW, and know it has been Blizzard MO pretty forever to render pre-expansion gear useless in every new expansion. It should have been especially obvious since Blizzard is purging the AHs and is trying to remove the bad effects they have caused. On an unrelated note, I also find it strange / funny / sad that people are now complaining that you need RoS to get the extra stash slot. These are the same people who are saying how the expansion isn't worth it, yet they are the first ones to complain when things are expansion exclusive. Is it really any wonder Blizzard barely talks to us?
If you have good gear already you should be doing T1 from the start. I dunno how different T1 is on PTR than Beta but it's fine even without the rerolls... It just takes time to kill since you need to stack ehp...
This.
On the PTR, I can easily do T1 or 2 w/all of my pre-patch gear (haven't found any upgrades). I faceroll mp10 on live.
T3+ becomes a grind...I still don't really die in T3+ b/c of life steal (which I know will be gone when I level.
I basically agree that if you're well geared enough from live, that you can do T1 no problems. The only hurt for me is that my traditional WW Barb is gone. I've come up with a pretty solid build on the PTR that's pretty efficient though. The people this no enchanting thing hurts are the people who can't do higher mp's now - because enchanting should easily allow them to at least T1 -- I'm assuming this, because I'm not in beta and haven't enchanted, but that's what I'm gathering from what I'm reading here and on the official forums.
However, my philosophy for Diablo has been this "I don't care how ANYONE else plays this game. I play it to have my own fun." I feel like most of the people who make these complaints about "being behind other people" and "unfair advantages" are MMO players. I'm still a firm believer that Diablo is not a multiplayer game (even though there's incentives) and how anyone else plays shouldn't bother you. Look at console! So many saved game hacks so ppl can be god like -- I don't see the point in being the best right away and having no real reason to farm, but I don't let it bother me because I play my own game.
I'm not upset with the change to no enchanting on legacy items, but to do it because a specific number of items are OP seems kinda ridic. Blizzard always go to extremes - they need to learn to find a middle ground.
btw guys, you do realize that T1 is basically instantly on farm as soon as you walk into the game, having BIS 60 items doesn't change a whole lot.
you guys really need to do research into what is happening with game development right now and realize that they are making decisions based off wrong information/feedback.
I know though, it's so hard to resist trolling on players who play the game you guys are planning to play in the future.
I personally love how people who support this, their #1 response is, hey look at all the silly d3 players who actually play the game and got shit on.
So basically, you guys have 0 plans to play this game in the future or you actually think it's amusing for this to happen when you are considering coming back to the game in the future.
Whenever they make a change like this, they are just abusing the general population of the player-base that has played the game up to that point.
Do people that have put 0 hours into this game really think that despite all these changes you can simply just come back to ROS and actually be able to compete with vanilla players?
Reality check kids, actually look into the game and learn about what your planning to buy before just trolling on forums non-stop about how people who play the game losing all progression makes you happy and amuses you.
diablofans.com forums are pretty much resembling what bnet forums are right now, full of trolls and players who have 0 understanding of the game.
