Treasure Goblins are super fun to kill and sometimes offers some great rewards.
But to spice it up goblins up without getting lucky enough for the Rift here's a simple but fun idea.
I have noticed there are now "purple" named goblins, these goblins are bigger and seem to have slightly more health.
Upon killing them they should have 3 random rewards aside from dropping there bag of loot.
1. 60% chance to drop a Radiant chest on the ground. (Loot with Chest)
2. 39.5% chance to explode into 3 smaller goblins. (Loot + 3 more goblins)
3. 0.5% chance to find a legendary artifact when used the next elite, champion or end act boss has a 100% chance to drop a legendary (Double if first time killing the boss.)
These goblins are rare enough to find and the rewards are even rarer. So rare to a point that it would be impossible to single handily farm these guys.
As long as they have random spawn points like goblins do atm, I think this would be a great addition.

This sounds like a great idea. I'm not sure how rare they are, but if they're quite rare the artifact could be 5% instead of 0.5%. Or something to make it rare but not too rare.
Yeah, I have already found 4 legendaries on the ptr (new character), so a 5 percent chance to find a legendary off a goblin that doesn't spawn very often? A bit underwhelming.
I say, these goblins just drop a legendary when you find and kill them. They are a bit tougher to kill, so you may mess it up if you are at the edge of your difficulty envelope.

Drop chance for legendary items on PTR is really REALLY low imo. Blizzard said it would be 6 times more drop chance for them. Currently I'm seeing 60 times worse drop chance then live. I've found 3 so far, it's ridiculously low drop chance, and seeing how many legendary items can actually drop getting a specific one might take months of not years, let alone getting the stats you want. I think it's probably just this low on PTR, it must be. Cause 1 legendary drop every few hours is no 6 times more drop chance then live, when I find 5-12 an hours, with probably an average of 7~ in total. I've only seen 2 purple goblins so far on PTR, so I guess they're quite rare. So yeah a guaranteed would be alright too.

I think this is a great idea. If it's done in a good way that it's rare enough yet rewarding... Which is kinda hard but you know, might work.
