In reading what I can find about ROS I am not fully understanding some things. So I wonder if any of you could help me out and answer some questions.
I am not understanding this paragon point system thing. So. If lets say I have 1 character on my account. and it is paragon 100. And none of my other characters are even lvl 60. So does that mean I will have 100 points to put into any character? does this include new characters I make? which brings me to my next questions.
I take it there will be a ladder. And to be on the ladder you need to make a new toon. so if i have 100 para points to use. can i use them on this new character on the ladder?
I truly do not understand paragon points and how they will work. From my understanding. if there is going to be a ladder. I will just delete all my characters so will I have these paragon points?
It's their way of making the Paragon 2.0 System account-wide, without disregarding people who invested time in multiple characters. Hence they add it all together and calculate where "x" amount of experience would put you in the new system.
Also, we don't really know how Ladder is going to work. It could be based on experience, and it could be based on something else. We have "hints" that for Ladder the Paragon level is going to be reset and it's going to take into account the highest Paragon level achieved during a certain season.
But it's all speculation at this time.
I personally don't like the "experience race" type of Ladder. I like what PoE did with its "milestones" sort of achievements in their Races, and I believe a hybrid Ladder would be the best experience in D3, with both a "racing" aspect as well as a "milestone" side to it.
Thanks guys. I get it now. IMO if there is a going to be a ladder there is no point in accumulating paragon lvls. with all the new gears coming and no AH. the need for non ladder characters is obsolete. having a NL toon makes no sense.
Use this chart to help you understand what paragon level you will be in ROS, http://www.diablowiki.net/Paragon. Scroll down and you will see a easy to read chart. The 3rd column tells you how much total experience you have at the specified paragon level since lvl 0 (paragon). Simply add up these numbers for each character that has paragon experience into one grand sum. Take this value and use the brand new paragon chart found on Dfan's news and figure out how many levels you have with the amount of paragon experience you earned.
