Hopefully they talk about it a bit more today. Travis Day wasn't there yesterday, and he's the man in charge of fixing this mess.
I fear that it still won't get proper coverage as it's a pretty massive topic to get into, but who knows... They keep talking about these cool new affixes (which are cool) and better drops, but it's all moot if we're still relying on finding gear with CC/CD/IAS.
I refuse to believe that trifecta is still the way to go even with RoS here.
Let's see what Travis is gonna say about it. He has to.
I can guarantee you trifecta is not going to stay the be all end all loot. It's not hard to fix, it's not hard to work around it and it's not hard to find proper alternatives.
The fact that they keep itemization such a mystery, even at Blizzcon, can only mean that it is indeed still a huge issue that is being worked on and this means there will be new and hopefully interesting affixes we see in the future. The community gave them enough suggestions and ideas.
You are wrong, it can also mean that they are not going to do anything about it :).
^Completely agree. Had sort of come to a similar conclusion with these new affixes. Everything is basically a stat stick with the affix being what you really care about. Weird.
They damn well better talk about items in some major way today. I cannot fathom how they'd manage to just brush that aside. I fear it will be just more buzz about how awesome unique affixes are however. But in about 20 min we shall see, won't we.
diablo.somepage has a vague overview of the talk...
Not too interesting or earth-shattering, but that's what happens when you follow data-mining, I guess. However, this part was kind of interesting and might have a major affect on how things play out:
They are doing Stat Grouping: Primary and Secondary stats. Primary stats are things that directly increase your power, and Secondary stats are other effects that do things for your character. So stats are broken out; stats like Bonus Experience and Magic Find don't take the place of Critical Hit and other direct power stats.
And from the sound of it, they showed Frozen Orb...so woo-hoo!

So... uh, fingers crossed here.
A few of the legs and the stats they come with.
