First of all, the purpose of this thread is not to flame anyone/anything, but it's more like I'm just curious and since everyone I know left the game, and every single friend totally forgot about D3.. I don't know' if anyone is playing it anymore.
The last time I played it was a couple of weeks ago, I could tolerate it for 35 mins, then I got bored of the yellow rain and just altf4'ed.
So, is anyone actively playing this game on a regular basis?.
I currently have only a few small carrots pulling me to D3 and none are item related.. which is sad for a loot based game.
The main carrot Paragon levelling since it will be beneficial when loot 2.0/RoS hits..
However after doing 1 run of about 30mins, I am just bored of the grind and log off and play something like Dota 2 or Fifa 14.
I am having a rest at the moment but am keeping a close eye on updates/Blizzcon
After I geared my barb and easily do mp10 runs without spend billions of gold (I have nearly 50kk now and 50kk on gear on him), I leveled WD and Arcanist, put some nice gear and having fun trying builds around, nothing like paragon 100 or legendary grind. Just casting some spells and stuff.
I'm glad I can swap skills any time, or it gets boring as hell to play any of my characters.
I play in spurts of 3-4 weeks every couple of months. I get a little burnt out and move to something else. I'm currently in the middle of trying to get my barb geared enough to do MP5 and then I'll try for my first Hellfire ring.
I'm not playing every day, and only a couple hours on the days I do, but I'm far from done.
I play for about 30-60 minutes a day. Want to get 100% achievements and all five classes paragon 100 by March and I have no motivation to get there sooner than later...
I just picked up a copy myself. Actually, a customer of mine gave me a copy as a tip. Been playing it quite a bit ever since. Still find myself on D3 at least an hour or two a day though.
1 : The announcement of the ladder made it clear that anything I do now will only affect non lader. Which I will not play. So anything I do now is just wasting time.
2 : The announcement of removing the AH leaves me unsure if I even want to continue to play this game.
I play 1 to 3 hours each day (when I don't have connection issues)
I still have many goals to accomplish, usually find a worthy upgrade or two in a month for one or another of my 10 active characters, just found my 2nd set item, have yet to fight an "uber" boss let alone crafting an infernal ring.
Unfortunately I cannot play HC otherwise I'll have many more things to do.
Oh, I play SP self found till release.
After the RoS announcement, many of my friends got interested in D3 again. None of us is worried about ladder/AH/whatever crap, but just want to enjoy the game for the time being before the "overhaul" comes. I even managed to draw a friend back into D3 who has never got to 60 (left frustrated at some point in Hell during leveling).
As the weather outside gets worse and the summer is over, I'll be playing more regularly (as work permits). Been playing 2-3 times a week a couple of hours, whenever my friends are online (don't enjoy solo that much).
Seeing all the stuff about RoS, and especially about loot 2.0 not coming until then, really made me want to stop. Weirdly, though, reading all that news somehow got me back into the game, and now I'm play as much or more than ever. I also just got over what seems to be the "paragon hump" and got my main character into the p40s, and now I'm actually seeing legendaries drop on a semi-regular basis. Staying busy alternating runs with my main and leveling the remaining classes up to 60 and beyond before the expansion comes out; I figure it will be worth it just to have the paragon points to spend. Also, I found a legendary blacksmith plan the other day (my first one)!
EDIT: By the way, if you (anyone) need someone to play with on US, whether it's doing runs for paragon XP or leveling new characters, hit me up in-game.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.

I quoted your whole short post because, given the nature of peoples' responses, I doubt you're getting the answers you're looking for. Like always, your posts are extremely general and vague, and borderline trolling this forum. They're always the same, they offer very little to any coversation, and you always end each debate with "I'm just saying, I like D2 better, like...wtf." Which begs the question...why are YOU still here? You can post here all you want, I'm not saying you can't, but if you're still that unhappy after all this time, even given the coming updates...you're not likely to get much to change your mind. You ask a vague question like "is anyone still playing," but to me, it sounds like you're asking because yet again, you're trying to say, "see? no one's playing, i was right, game's crap." Besides, your post doesn't even address the updates, which likely take care of a fair amount of the criticisms you've had for months and months...even though most people who say "no" to this are simply waiting for the updates.
That all being said, to answer your question, yes, I do still play. Obviously, with the updates coming, and things getting way deeper and better for D3 in another six months minimum, and with insane games coming out like GTA5 and Watch Dogs and Beyond: Two Souls, I'm taking my time and easing up a bit. Mainly, I'm focusing on Paragon XP, so I'm mostly playing my Plvl 72 Monk, so I gain the most XP, as he can handle MP7. Since I also have the console and I'm leveling a Witch Doctor there, occasionally I get an idea for a build to try on PC, so I throw on my Plvl 8 WD and experiment, sometimes play around with some Wizard builds, but mostly I grind with my Monk so I have the most Paragon XP for when the updates come. I'm looking very forward to allocating my Paragon Points and seeing how my strong AND weak characters play given stat boosts to various places.
People are right when they say that an overhaul to loot and item quality is of primary importance, and I'm absolutely excited about the amazing things the new loot will do for my characters...but I think for me, Paragon Points edge out looking forward to great loot for now. I love loot as much as anyone, but Paragon Points are something I can play with instantly, and they're an innately earned way for me to customize my builds to work better.
I genuinely hope, Indimix, despite any arguments you and I have had here, that you've read through the updates, the datamined changes previews, etc., and found at least a few things you're happy about, and can get into this game as much as a lot of people are. Ultimately, what I want for anyone is to play games they enjoy, and not be so negative. If you're not happy with this game, then your best bet is to play a game you like more.

Simple as that.
Stopped reading after "Like Always", since, that is not the case at all. If you think it is, search through my threads and prove me wrong. The threads history doesn't lie.

I don't want to grind for a 6 CC Mempo, I want to grind for a legendary that makes gold rain from the sky.
Also, Frozen Orb.
There's simply too much awesome on the way to be satisfied right now.
Also really looking to get into ladder, almost exclusively, so yeah, REALLY no point for me now, heh. Going to be a brutal 6-12 months...

i used to play almost every day , till RoS datamined stuff ... now im just waiting
When i heard about Paragon 2.0, i started grinding my Wizard from 5 to 50 paragon, but got bored; i ran out of juice.
I'm glad I can swap skills any time, or it gets boring as hell to play any of my characters.
I'm not playing every day, and only a couple hours on the days I do, but I'm far from done.
