Q: If you got 4 character at lvl 400 paragon, they will give you about 200pts to spend in the new paragon system, but the new paragon system come out at the same time as the ladder system in the xpac.
So the ladder is suppose to wipe everything to zero. That's mean you are not gonna get 200pts to spent right???
A: please help me understand what that mean. is it worth it to farm paragon lvl till the xpac?
thank you in advance for anyone who got the answer
your toon u have now will be non-ladder and u will spend your points there. But for Ladder u start from zero.
blue post:
Paragon experience will be account but will also be broken out by game play mode. Players who play in Hardcore will have a separate hardcore paragon level from their non hardcore characters.
When a season ends all of the paragon experience you have earned will be rolled into the appropriate pool of paragon experience for the account and you will be able to start at 0 again in the new season.
This is all still a work in progress and subject to change but that is what we are currently intending.
I think you're a bit to quick to jump to final conclusion, as none of this has actually been confirmed and Travis's post is just stating one piece of information how they imagine it could look like, but it's not a given.
For example, they might not start a ladder season for as much as 6 months into RoS, to give everyone some time to explore and stuff (unlikely, but possible). Or they might start the first ladder without reset, taking your existing paragon levels into the first ladder season. Or whatever. Of course, it's most likely that if you want to play ladder-only any paragon earned now will be useless, but nothing is set in stone and if we learned one thing from this week's news it's this: never say never. (We all thought they will never shut down the AH.) Just continue playing and have fun.
P.S.: 400 paragon levels don't automatically transfer to 200 paragon points. Could be 1000, could be 100. Who knows? No one knows. Paragon levels => points conversion is not fixed yet.
I'm pretty certain there is going to be a ladder that everyone is a part of. Which is your total paragon experience earned -current seasonal ladder experience. Separated by region and hardcore/sc. When the Seasonal ladder (level 1 paragon 0, fresh economy, frequent resets)ends it gets dumped into your total paragon experience earned.
That last part was from Travis about a week ago. The rest is me basing it on what Travis said + the fact that there are separate strings for Ladder and Seasonal Ladders.
yeah everything is possible. But to get people back on D3, the one that stop playing, They will have no choice to put the reset at RoS date. I think they will give you the option to do ladder right at the beginning, if you want to play ladder. I personally not an hardcore gamer since my schedule change a lot this past year. But I remember the trill of starting an xpac and aiming for being the best ( Never happen but still lol ).
It's been 3 month that I stop playing D3, I kept getting to diablofans.com every morning with my coffee to wake me up but I don't feel to lvl paragon and more if it's gonna be worthless. but as you said, nothing is sure. I didn't think they would close the auction house, and I cant wait to trade on specific chat channel !! gonna deal with people again!!
You'll have essentially 4 pools of paragon points. HC / SC, HCL / SCL. When a season ends, all the exp you got for paragon for either hardcore ladder or softcore ladder will then be rolled into their respective slots of either hardcore or softcore, and the next season will have you start at zero again.
So if you're only going to play ladder, farming paragon right now does you nothing.
If you plan to play ladder only, leveling paragon now is waste of time.
If you plan to play ladder only, doing ANYTHING now is a waste of time.
As I said earlier. I'm pretty sure we will all be playing on a Ladder. That is nothing more than a ranking system based on total experience earned. Now if you mean the seasonal ladder, we still don't know if it's going to have any BiS items that are "ladder only". If it's the same exact items as non-seasonal ladder with maybe a different graphic (ala poe) then a lot of people will be less likely to play it. There's also the matter of how long a season is going to last and if there's a break between seasons. If so how long?
The point is Blizzard isn't about to revamp paragon and then trivialize it with a ladder system like D2. Instead they will use seasonal ladders as a complete reset, dump that experience into the perpetual paragon ladder of appropriate type. (hc/sc)
People will see that number getting bigger over time and make it a point to be #1 on it. Especially, if there is downtime between seasonal ladders. This is not d2 where the economy is so fucked and filled with hacked items that there is little reason to play anything but the ladder. I mean sure inflation is a thing, but they have the ability to reset that.

yeah that's why I will not start back =D and wait for the xpac.
