This was one of my favorite features in D2. I think it would way better in D3- and - for an idea how to make it better: once you reach PL100, have "vanity pts"rewarded for killing other PL100 players. Vanity points could go into pick up radius, movement speed, %chance to dodge or block, or maybe even different armor dyes.... just an idea
They could add a mode that allows people to randomly join your game and "hunt" you. You would be able to choose this mode just like you can choose between a few options in 1.0.8 (currently on the PTR). Surviving a PK attempt should award you with an extra NV charge that can exceed the current maximum cap of 5. Succeeding in PK'ing someone should drop you a legendary item or maybe a crafting component that allows you to craft some cool pvp exclusive gear or something like that.
I could go on for hours and expand on this idea but i'll leave that for someone who has the will power to do so
I don't remember them saying it was too hard, though I could have missed it. I thought it was because a lot of people hated it in D2 and they didn't want to create a separate realm or game mode for people who like it, like they do with Hardcore. FYI, I'm definitely in the camp that hated it in D2 though.

...and if you disagree with me, you're probably <insert random ad hominem attack here>.

Worst idea ever, hated diablo 2 for this.
There is nothing more dumb than getting constantly killed by overpowered player who's killing you without reason.
adding a votekick or something once you get killed once could be an option... I think having a better reward system for killing someone who is higher ranked would be a better option...to keep people from "bullying"
I can't wait to join a pub farm game and someone who has better gear kills me. It's so much fun.
Oh wait, it isn't.
For arranged duels, i can agree that Brawling is kinda poor. In Diablo 2 you could choose the field of battle with your friends, but i kinda remember always doing "PvP" in front of the Rogue Encampment. So yeah, for PvP players it can be boring zerging each others in that small map that's the Scorched Chapel.
And finally, we don't need more stats as a reward for PvP, players are already ripping their eyes off to reach Paragon 100 to gain MF and Stats boosts. Adding more stats doing only PvP will force some, if not many, to do a content they are not interested in to not fall behind in the "most effective way" to play this game.
I keep trying, but I keep getting infractions from Zero(pS).
You know I love you guys
Also, you have no idea what kind of control it takes to not go around just destroying people with words. I'm a very angry guy on the inside some days (I may have a Hulk hiding somewhere).

I spent like 30 minutes typing a reply to a post the other day that got me really hot. In the end, I just deleted it and reported the post -- not that it was edited or deleted...

Working with adobe and/or java is like pushing a paper clip against a building and expecting it to move...
I'm completely in favor of hostile provided that it can't be used for rampant griefing. I simply hated all the griefing in D2 and D1. It was, otherwise, a fairly solid system.

Oh, and btw, what happens when the infraction bar reach it's limit?, just curious
I'm ok with hostile mode only if it's possible to opt out of it proactively (not after I'm attacked). Or if it's mandatory, make the attacker suffers a large combat penalty (maybe -50%dmg and life for the entire game) when he/she triggers hostile flag. Or maybe give 15 minutes warning between the hostile trigger and the time it becomes effective.
No, no, no, no, NO! There is nothing about Diablo 3 that needs or even warrants PvP. Your fellow warriors are not in the game to be antagonists ... they are there to be your companions aiding you in killing monsters in order to defeat Diablo to restore balance to the universe. Killing each other is just plain WRONG. WRONG!
This will never happen, so I won't have to worry about this system coming back in it's original form. At any rate, it was a poor system then, and it would be a poor one now. I couldn't even count how many times people would join public games just to cause mayhem. No thank you sir.
the only thing hostile would add to the game is the ability to grief. That's mostly what it was used for in D2, that's mostly what it would be used for in D3. No thanks. And thankfully Blizzard agrees and any PVP implemented will be purely consensual.
please....dont ....hate.. for my nostalgia....

That's not realy vanity, is it? WOuld make some people immortal sooner or later. Not gonna happen.

Vanity wasnt the best choice of words, bonus points maybe? Immortal has a nice ring to it.... After PL100 maybe Immortality points ...

Final Fantasy 7

I take it you're getting close?
I'm somehow at 0 infractions. I think the most obvious theory is that the mods don't read my posts.
I could go on writing an essay why that's my choice, but I guess by now everyone knows the arguments of both sides.
