And i think its obvious why console game is better than PC.They want us to buy it right? So tell me would you buy the exact same game that you've played the hell out of?Or would you buy an inferior version of the game which already got so many problems?Or would you like a version that makes it more fun and makes up for the shortcomings of the pc version ie a superior version?
Obviously you would like the superior version right?
Why release GTA a full year after its console release to PC and change absolutely nothing? it has worked for many years. For many games.
Well to be honest i dont know much about GTA.I haven't played GTA 4,and i haven't played GTA 5(is it released yet?) and i haven't played many of the other games. But i've played San Andreas and Vice city.
The content in GTA is much more than diablo 3.And also playing the same game again on a console is better than playing Diablo 3 on a console because in GTA you don't have to grind, and you don't have to play every mission 4 times on different difficulties and you just can't replay a mission unless you forgot to save.Well you may not be able to understand what i said and even i have problem understanding it,so i'll give an example:-
Suppose there is a mission in GTA to kill Mafia Boss X.You go to his hideout, blast some vehicles, fight him and nail him down with a gun while he's running. You can't play that mission again and you can't grind the areas, actually you can continuously keep killing people for a chance to get 10$ from a dead man but that's not grinding.
So is there a reason to play it on another difficulty?Die hard fans will play but it is not compulsory as it does not reward you with any new guns, swords, bullet proof vests, etc. So one year later when you play it on a console you will have fun because you know how to complete the mission but it'll still be like fairly new.
Just like killing Belial for the 2nd time on nightmare was fun for me because the fight was tougher and challenging but i also knew the mechanics, killing him for the 25th time(Yes i count) on inferno was not that fun.
So maybe it works for other games.
But in diablo 3 you know all the areas because you have been forced to complete all difficulties to go to inferno to grind for the best gear.So you get bored of that fast.Hence,i don't think it would be the right formula for D3.Atleast according to me i dont want to start from the overlook road again with a barb waiting to reach lvl 3 and get cleave, which i have experienced a million times(Here i have not counted) on my level 60 barb.
But it may be different according to your viewpoint.
Well due to democracy you do have to tolerate my ridiculous tin hattery.
On a more serious note,Are you kidding me? You think diablo 3 is in a perfect state? You think pvp,end-game,itemisation are good?Seriously? And you want facts for it too??
I never, ever, said D3 was perfect. Anyone around here knows very well I don't believe that. PvP is exceptionally basic right now and I know Blizzard will expand on it. We need a game creation/listing system similar to D2 to facilitate random dueling too (among other social aspects). Itemization is being fixed. Endgame is constantly evolving, but at this point it's just as robust, if not more than D2.
I don't expect any game to ever be "perfect." In 20+ years of gaming I've yet to play the perfect game and I'm sure as hell not holding my breath. I see Blizzard being attentive - I see them listening to us. What I also see is a very vocal group of people who have their titties in a twist because Blizzard isn't fixing things in the order they deem necessary and I'm simply not willing to have a mental breakdown over that shit. It's just a very stupid thing to get angry over. I've said it before, and it's yet to sink in, but not all issues have the same ETA. Some problems require more time to fix and I have absolutely no doubt that itemization requires a lot more time than, say, adding pLvls.
At the end of the day I'd much rather play a game that is being actively maintained and updated and obviously headed in the right direction as to a game that has a 40-hour shelf life. It's personal preference, but I've already enjoyed D3 more than most games - and really that's all I ever expected. I don't get emotionally-invested in expectations/hype and, consequently, I tend to not be nearly as critical of minor things. It makes me a happier gamer because I'm not constantly on forums whining that so-and-so company let me down, swaddling myself with bile, venom, and vitriol.

I think you're VASTLY overstating the crossover market. Most of my PC gamer friends really aren't that into consoles and would never purchase the same game twice under any circumstances. Most of my console gamer frineds never bought the PC version of D3.
Why would you think that Blizzard is purposely screwing over the larger segment of their fan base to sell console copies? Hell, I don't even own a PS3, so that plan can't work on me.
EDIT
Also, as Overneathe said, this paradigm of releasing a game on one platform, then a different platform at a later date has been something prevelant in the industry for a while. Why's it only worthy of ranting THIS time?
Well firstly i have never taken a game seriously.I see people in counter strike cursing and swearing at each other just because they could not kill the other person. For some reason they forget that they're gonna respawn after a short while and have a chance at revenge.I am surprised as to why they take it so seriously.Games for me are a way to escape the competition, stress, monotony, etc of the real life. But if u r creating the same problems in the game, then why play?
But then i met Diablo 2.I started playing in 2007 even though many graphically advanced games were available everything paled in comparison. That was THE GAME for me.After 1 or 2 years in 2008 or 2009 the D3 site came out.I instantly fell in love with the game.I,like every one else got my expectations high up and bought it,but like everyone else except the developers,i was disappointed.
I'm not saying that this game is doomed or dead or something as an expansion will set things right.
Also i talked about pvp, endgame, etc cos you wanted facts.
And yeah i know the crossover market doesn't work like that but most of the buyers of the d3 console version will be those who have a ps3/4 and those who have d3 on their pc's.
The way you wrote this is like you're asking to start a flame war. You're not really worthy a response to, but the subject in general warrants one so I'll add my two cents;
Your entire point of "D3 was designed from consoles" is obviously false, because they changed MANY core elements to make it work on consoles. So a quick answer to your drawn-out question; No, it was designed for PC. It was then re-designed for consoles.
You said they changed many core elements.Just like i am saying they did.Not only did they change it but they made it better. So what's your point? You say that the console version is different, that they changed some things, that's what i said too.
Infact they made it better than the pc version using the pc version as a standard to determine what's right and implement it and what's wrong and leave it in the pc version.

This.
Ok one forum moderator quotes me on my own sentence and adds an "Ultra-Facepalm" in the end and other uses simple words like "This" and "That".
Anyway Nuvian i added a +1 to your statement just for fun.

Dear Senior Mods. thank you for your input, and what not. However, being hierarchy on this site doesnt mean u have any inside track, only that u post a lot and tend to make "likeable" statements. Fact is the OP has valid unprovable points. Like it or not.
What is a valid unprovable point? This is entirely contradictory. Anybody that isnt blindly angry at blizzard can see that the game was designed for PC first, console second.
Well, for starters we have had the game on PC for nearly a year and its still not on console. If it takes Blizzard that long to change the inputs to a controller then they have some issues with development. To those that say it looks "better" than the PC version due to certain features... you are aware that blizzard is releasing many of those on the PC too? You are also aware that Blizzard works in iterations? By iterations, I mean they constantly refine a product until it is satisfactory. You know these last 7 patches we have gotten? They have all been iterations. They are figuring out what WE want and are implementing what WE want. You know that awesome sounding patch that they are talking about now? And the patch after that? We asked for that stuff and they are putting it in.
Shut up and either enjoy the game or leave the game.

Alright, then since you chose to stay. Go make constructive criticism. Go explain what you want in the game and why in a positive manner. Do that instead of making threads complaining about your belief that this game was made for consoles when it wasnt. Stop trying to throw fuel on the fire of people riding the hate train on blizzard.
PS: You say you chose D2 earlier in 2007 despite there being graphically superior games etc. Why then do you choose to play D3 since you clearly dont care for graphics or any of that nonsense? If it is such a bad game and blizzard screwed it up so badly... why arent you playing D2 instead? You can leave a game and have hope for its future, yet you havent left it.

If you dont like a game, you shouldnt play that game. If you dont like it and still play it, you are nonsensical. You should play the game you DO like. Whether it is a predecessor or not doesnt matter because they are still different games. I hate final fantasy 13, so I dont play it. Who wouldve thought you didnt have to play stuff you didnt like?
If D2 runs pinkish, try the other video options. Also try windowed mode. It is a problem because some of the codecs (not the right term, but I am not thinking right atm) arent really used anymore.
Why the fk should i play diablo 2 when i have diablo 3.Yes i don't care about graphics and stuff but now diablo 3 is the thing to play.I don't know how should i put it in words but i'll give an example:-
Imagine you had an old model car which you loved. But now you have a new car and you drive it but its not even close to the feeling of your old car.
But you can't drive your old car because its old and the services for the car are hard to find and also its not in a good condition.
I know it doesn't explain the thing i wanna convey but that's pretty much what i am able to come up with.
And the ban thing...its just for fanboys. If you're not a fanboy u shouldn't have a problem with it.

For the sake of maintaining the discussion we're trying to let people talk what they want, but the whole quoting piramid has gone way out of hand. I'm gonna go back and remove some of those.
The ultra-facepalm was for the attackspeed statement, where you said:
The major thing i noticed that there is no attack speed crap in the consoles.Like the barbarian that was shown. He was cleaving very fast which makes it obvious that the speed of the attacks depends on your fingers. That means if you button mash you can cleave very fast.(See Video)
That's wrong in so many levels it blew my mind.
I'm not saying some parts of the game weren't simplyfied. They obviously were. Did that happen because they planned a port for consoles? Absofuckinlutely no one can tell for sure.
People can have all the concerns they want, as long as they follow the most basic logic and factual analysis. Saying the game was designed for consoles is such a logical fallacy and biased statement it's insane. The whole argument that "the game was designed for consoles" and then there's like a dozen base changes to the way it plays on consoles just blows my mind
Also, for those starting to take things personally, take it easy, shall we?
So far we've been letting this run its course (as it's a discussion in which a lot of people obviously are engaged) and we obviously don't mind others not agreeing with us; but let's try to be as civil as possible.

You should play D2 because you like it better than D3. Believe it or not, you will not like every game that you play. For your car example, that is a poor example. For a car there are external factors that prevent you from driving the old car (ie: it wont work at all), this is generally not the case for a game (though it has happened). If such a case arises for a game, you need to realize that it is not the same game (or car) and be able to move forward. No other game (or car) will give you that same feeling as that old game.
I will give a somewhat relatable example. I used to play WoW a lot. I loved that game. Then I got a bit bored with it and quit. I have tried other MMO's, but none give me the same feeling... so I just dont play MMO's anymore. I moved on because I realized that they were not for me. I have gone back to WoW for very brief periods every now and again, but I just dont like that game anymore. I played it to death.
So, I will say it again: Not every game you play will be a game that you like. Diablo 1 is WAY different than D2 and many liked it better than D2. D3 is different than D2, and many like D2 better than D3. There are also many that like D3 more than D2. It is a different game, if you dont like it then you just dont like it. If you expect it to be identical to D2, you are dumb. If you expect to get the same feeling from it, you dont understand the emotional and nostalgic feelings attached to D2.
I will give another example: I used to have a small playlist of music on my computer. I always played this music while playing games. My predominant game at the time was D2. Now whenever I hear a couple songs from this playlist, I get nostalgic feelings from playing D2... just from the music. I see myself sitting on the old computer, playing music, agonizing at the length of act 2/3. This and every other experience is mentally attached to D2, and I will never get that same experience again.
EDIT: In regards to the fanboy comment, I dont care if it doesnt apply to me. It is flamebait. It is a troll comment. It is seeking to incite a response from people. I dont understand how it is allowed.
EDIT: In regards to the fanboy comment, I dont care if it doesnt apply to me. It is flamebait. It is a troll comment. It is seeking to incite a response from people. I dont understand how it is allowed.
Just to help clarify something for any users that might also be wondering this.
There's a thin line that separates pure trolls from posts with small pokes like that; or that separates good discussions from flame-wars.
Specially in a case like this where the "flamebait" is paired with actual arguments (a hybrid post), it's kinda hard for us to decide on what to do. We don't wanna go all nazi and kill the discussion head on (by locking the thread, or infracting the user); but we also don't wanna let people have the feeling that the rules have no purpose.
Personally, I like to edit out the part of the post that's considered inflammatory (and hand out infractions, but I know I'm a trigger-happy mod so I'm always holding back as much as I can), but editing the post usually undermines its integrity and passion. And truth be told, passionate discussions/threads like this (with a "poke" at the end) are the ones with the most activity. Nice cute threads don't always have much discussion (like this one).
So I'd say we generally look at the community's response - if the thread generates enough "good discussion" (which is the purpose of any forum), then we allow it. If it turns out into an outrage and flame wars, then we step in and take action.
Just an fyi

Ok one forum moderator quotes me on my own sentence and adds an "Ultra-Facepalm" in the end and other uses simple words like "This" and "That".
Anyway Nuvian i added a +1 to your statement just for fun.

My whole point is that your title and the point of your post is to try and prove that D3 was made for consoles this whole time, when (while I didn't need the help) you helped prove just the opposite.
Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
Please Explain How.

Oh well i've chosen the first option. In fact right now im going to enjoy some pvp with my monk. Will be back in half an hour.
But the second option ie Leave the game is stupid. Why should i leave the game?Because blizzard fked the game up? I still have hope for this game,so stop telling people who dont blindly follow blizz like you to leave.

Are you kidding me?I should go leave d3 and try d2?Actually thats a very good idea.I'll install it today but still those who dont like a game because it didn't live up to its predecessor which was released 10 years ago should go play the predecessor? And people call my arguments invalid LOL.
Edit:- Oh the game runs pinkish on my laptop. But i wonder why D3 doesnt run pinkish when d2 runs pinkish??Actually i rememberd this because i had tried to install it 2 months ago when i was bored of d3.

If D2 runs pinkish, try the other video options. Also try windowed mode. It is a problem because some of the codecs (not the right term, but I am not thinking right atm) arent really used anymore.
This post in particular should warrant a ban.

That's wrong in so many levels it blew my mind.
I'm not saying some parts of the game weren't simplyfied. They obviously were. Did that happen because they planned a port for consoles? Absofuckinlutely no one can tell for sure.
People can have all the concerns they want, as long as they follow the most basic logic and factual analysis. Saying the game was designed for consoles is such a logical fallacy and biased statement it's insane. The whole argument that "the game was designed for consoles" and then there's like a dozen base changes to the way it plays on consoles just blows my mind
So far we've been letting this run its course (as it's a discussion in which a lot of people obviously are engaged) and we obviously don't mind others not agreeing with us; but let's try to be as civil as possible.
from my view the game is some how much more fun than pc version.
Just an fyi
