I'm sure this question has been answered, but I'm curious to hear it from a blue or some source. Personally, I prefer to play games on my TV than my computer, and I find that if the two servers are not transferrable, then you're pretty much forcing users to play PC when they would rather play the playstation.
To me, that's like saying, "Hey guys, we came out with a better product for people to use, but you can't transfer all your work over if you're using the old product." Very limiting, and completely not fair. Why do ps3/4 users have an edge on this aspect over PC users?
I'm sorry, is that not a legitimate claim? Some of us prefer to hold controllers over mouses. You guys are so bias, speaking from a PC perspective. It's apparent that you guys prefer the game on PC, but if I had a choice I would play it on the PS3. My concern is, why do I have to start over to put my 400hours into the PS3. If I had a choice, I would have started the game on the PS3/4, but since I've already put 400 hours or so of my time on the PC version, it's kind of limiting me of making that choice, whereas people who have not played get to start fresh on the PS3. Just because the game wasn't offered on PS3 when I started, why does that leave me so limited?
Edit: Also, another concern I have, I think putting the game on the PS3/4 is a shitty ploy for Blizzard to get more money. Let's fix the problems that exist with the PC version before we mass produce the game on other consoles. You're supposed to learn from history, not repeat it. That's another topic for a different day, though.
400 hours spent on a platform you don't like? You must be the biggest Diablo fan ever.
Besides, this is common practice (as the blue post also says) and it's done for a good reason - different platforms should stay separated. It would crush PvP gameplay and the economy.
I got a feeling these are going to be 2 very different games on 2 incompatible systems.
That's the impression I get too, while the content will be the same (depending on how much patching/x-packs the PS gets) the control system will likely make the game feel quite different.

"Hey guys, we came out with a better product..."
You gave yourself away right there. The product is not even out and you already say it is the better version. Nice try troll.
So trusting the forums names beyond any doubt is the way to go eh?
That makes you either, a stone made for carrying around in a bag, or a city?
Touché. Or it could be a typo of Bastogne. But to be honest, I have no idea where it came from, when I used it the first time I didn't know any English at all, but for some stupid reason I never changed it.
Anyways, his nickname makes perfect sense. He's just playing us, look at all the contradictions in his post ("I love PS", "It's a mistake to bring D3 to PS", "I would have liked to see D3 on PS first", etc.). He's not looking for a discussion but (successfully) trying to pick up a fight.

since there are people who like consoles way more its going to be a better product for them. period.
The point is, the game for consoles is not even out yet and yet he says it is the better product. It's an assumption based on console bias and that alone is enough for me to call him out for trolling. Sure he loves the console but the love of another platform does not instantly make a product (yet to be released) better than one already released... Just saying.
As for me being a douche bag, only to people who are obvious trolls. Maybe you should think next time before posting. You might sound less naive...

Looking from this perspective, what you say makes sense. You really should write this on the official forum (without the hater stuff, keep it constructive). While Blizzard can't make the game cross-platform anytime soon, they should at least allow the controller-friendly design on PC.

Since he doesn't like playing on PC (and/or with keyboard+mouse) it is safe to say that Diablo on consoles will suit him better. For him it will be the better product, without having to see it first. Yes, it is an opinion based on console bias, but he was quite clear about that.

While we think cross-platform play would be awesome, there are currently no plans to allow connectivity between PlayStation Network and Battle.net (this is pretty standard for most games that have PC and console support). As a result, the characters on your Battle.net account and PlayStation account will also remain separate.
In terms of allowing an analog controller hookup for the PC, we don’t have any plans for that kind of support right now. Similarly, since Diablo III for console was designed with a controller in mind, the PlayStation version of Diablo III will not support USB mice or keyboards.

He doesn't like playing on PC but spent 400 hours on Diablo 3. Good lord, that's a lot of time spent on something you don't like.
You guys turned a legitimate topic into a flaming thread. Good job. If there was some type of confusion with my answer, you could have asked me to clarify. Instead, you guys think I'm trolling/flaming. I bet you get really far when talking to people face to face. Anyway, since nobody seems to share the same opinion, I think I'm done here. Thanks for the input from those that decided not to flame/troll.
seriously guys? i just cant believe the amount of narrowminded bullshit you guys say.
you should have waited? mods should ban... and also this is what corporations do ( please google 10 things a fanboy might say).
since everyone here seems to be 1337omgPCisSOawesome kid i cant understand the intolerance.
im a console player, ever been. and after getting to know diablo 1 back on the ps, diablo 2 was the only game i have ever played on the pc( well not the only but no other to that extend).i really think the OP is right, because i play d3 since release, i wont most likely start all over again.but i would prefer console above pc.
well thats what i think.
also please someone show me a near-to-release post where blizz says that they are going to bring d3 to consoles.
Call me a fanboy all you want, i am not debating the game or the company, but the general business practice, so i am a fanboy of the gaming industry.. i can live with that.
What he said, could basically be boiled down to, the notion that expanding your market is a ploy to make more money.. Which is a lot like saying snow is cold and rain is wet.
What do you expect? i have already agreed it would be nice if we could transfer over our progress. But there are far to many sensible reasons as to why it is not happening. you can bad mouth blizzard all you want. but the reason we wont see shared progress, is first and foremost, that playstation network does not allow it.
So from the very start, blizzard has no say in the matter.
I can´t find a link, not that i tried, but watch the youtube vid of blizzcon before the game was released.. They mentioned it, literally over 20 times that they had a console version in the plans. They have also been hiring console developers from before the game was released
Now, if Con Artist want to be taken seriously then there is a few points you need to elaborate.
What makes the console version a better or Superior product? - 1
What about this serves as unfair? what aspect exactly, is favoring one side over the other? - 2
What is shitty about releasing a game on multiple platforms? -3
When were you ever forced into playing diablo on your pc? was there a gun involved - 4
I think the problem here, is not that we, or i, are fanboys. but that Conartist is a complete idiot.
1.) If I said that I felt PS version of D3 was a superior product, I meant to say that PERSONALLY, I prefer my games on the console over the PC. That's what makes it superior to me. Superiority is a matter of opinion.
2.) What's unfair is, for those of us who prefer games on the PS, and would rather play the game on PS, are not rushing to do so because that would involve reinvesting our time and starting over.
3.) What's shitty about releasing D3 on multiple platforms is, Blizzard is trying to market a game that technicially still isn't marketable on the PC. They're too concerned with making money than they are with making their current players happy. Although, if they made their currently players happy and fixed the game, I'm sure more people would come back and more things could be sold on the RMAH. In general, it's not shitty that games come out on multiple platforms, that gives more users more options, but I'm pissed that they think it less a priority to fix their current game than to release it on more platforms.
4.) When I say forced, I mean to say, limited choice. I'm limited developing a new account on the PS because I've already invested so many hours onto the PC. If I switched over to the PS, I would be forfeiting so much time invested. Thus, because of my investment I feel forced to stay (or limited to choose) on the PC. Think of it as, 16 years in a company and you have 4 years to retire but feel miserable. No one is forcing you to stay, but chances are you're probably going to stay, just because the reward is greater at that 20 year mark.
He doesn't like playing on PC but spent 400 hours on Diablo 3. Good lord, that's a lot of time spent on something you don't like.
400 hours compared to people who I've seen play 2000 hours? Really not many hours in comparison. Dare I ask some of you folks to pull up your WoW hours; pretty sure you could get a year of your life back.
This topic certainly did not grow well. Locking it.
If you have any further questions about the topic OP you can either create a new topic, or, advisable, check to see if there aren't any other that already discuss it. We have a good amount of console topics here.
