I've a 150k barb with 5.8% leech and kill getting myself kill. Does anyone has any solution beside a 10% leech?
Try some Life on Hit gear (LoH). Pretty sure Life Steal (LS) still has a 80% nerf playing inferno MP. Buy a simple blue LoH piece to see what it does for you or specifically look at the Barb forums.
Increasing armor and physical resist also helps to reduce the damage taken by damage reflect. That and increasing your LS amount is the way to go. Extra LoH will help but LoH won't scale with your dps like LS does, so if x amount of LoH works now, if you double your DPS, you'd need 2x LoH to compensate, roughly speaking.
At 150k dps, 5.8% life steal is more than sufficient for reflect dmg. What you need to do is adjust your play style when running into a champ pack with this affix. I admit I usually realize a mob has this affix after dying super fast.
If you have Rend:Bloodlust, kite with it active. You just need to be more patient with this affix and whittle them down until they can be bursted to death.
Gear with +health from globes is also usefulwhen you're low and running around waiting for your health to crawl back up.
With my Exploding Palm build, there is absolutely no way whatsoever to mitigate RD. I could have 100% LS, 2000 LoH and I would still die. I'm all the time blowing up entire champ packs simultaneously and being made to pay for being a johnny badass.
It's a broken mechanic and needs either heavily nerfed or removed altogether. You shouldn't need temp invulnerability to survive an affix in order to use any specific skill. I've gotten better at identifying RD packs and trying to save my Serenity for the kill shot, but in group play it's hard to manage the exact time of death for a champ/Elite.
IMHO the reflect damage affix is there to force people into making their style of play and the way they gear their character a bit more versitile. You can't just gear up and have 300k plus DPS and run through Act III without getting killed fast but your own doing. You need balance.
The problem is that it was originally designed without monster power in mind.
The reason for reflects damage packs was to punish players that go glass cannon. When mobs die quickly due to low HP, it was less of an issue assuming you weren't a glass cannon. Smart play could reduce the difficulty of reflects damage as well(spirit walk, diamond skin, etc.). However, now that the mobs last a lot longer on higher MP levels and it changes things entirely.
The problem is that now, even if you are at a slight health loss per second vs reflects damage, you will die. It will take longer before you get possible health globe drops and it will be longer until the mob is dead. With high MP levels, you will require a gear level that makes reflects damage no longer hurt you and forces you to play using certain builds.
They should have done more testing with MP levels before releasing them. Reflects damage with high MP levels is an obvious problem if you tested with a Wizard or WD (or even a DH due to the requirement of Gloom due to RD packs). The skill needs to be reworked or removed due to how it interacts with high MP levels.
What is your armor/resistances? Pre and post War Cry? Armor and resistances reduce the dmg dealt by reflect dmg (I think it's physical type dmg) as well, so maybe you're taking a bit too much dmg because of that.
Reflect damage is broken. I cannot even play my WD and I have 2500 life regen. When I see a reflect damage pack, I have to kit like 2 minutes to kill them.
I think the barb has about 600 RA and 5500 armor pre buff. I think that's more than enough. It just reflect damage is broken. If I swap the skorn with a DW (110k with 9% leech) and I will survive. But DW sux, I have a echoing fury, and it blows.
im barb with 5,70 ls and 680 loh and i don't die from reflect damage.
I have about 600 res.
Too little information. If you don't mind me asking, what is your armor? What is your unbuffed resistance? What is your EHP? What DPS are you running? Any more infor for those posting might help out a bit.
Basically more resistance/armor, loh, life steal is the only way. If you have enough damage to steal (with just the ls, ignoring the loh) more than they deal, more damage obviously helps too.
I've noticed some packs with reflect damage seem to reflect much more than others, even on the same monster power level.
Also, a lot of times while you may still heal by attacking reflect packs, due to reflect you will heal a lot less than you normally would and thus their other abilities would be more difficult to mitigate and you'd actually have to try avoid them more than you normally do (aka stay out of molten/arcane/etc).
It's all about the balance. It doesn't matter that you're recovering 15k HP/sec if you're losing 20k hp/sec. You're still going to die in 11 seconds (with 45k HP). Of course some skills tip that balance in your favour (Serenity, Revenge, basically healing skills) - but you got the idea.
Add 1-1.5k armor and 150-200 resistances there and you should do a lot better. Maybe instead of that you could get something like 800 LoH. Who knows, maybe even both
Yeah, I know, that's not easy (or nice), you might even have to give up some dps, but that's how the game works

6k armor is your weak link. With your DPS, 6k armor is more than enough i am sure for regular mobs but get it up to 7k-8k at least [unbuffed] and you should be able to breeze through RD mobs.
With my perma bears+ BBV+ Mass confusion build there is no way to not take huge damage from reflect, i just got used to dying a few times to this kind of elites.

Takes longer, but I survive.
Reminds me of iron maiden from D2, see the 'thorns' above your head, ww'ing through a pack and boom instadeath.
So RD and Shielding, 2 of the most annoying affixes
