No sane person will play at monster power 10. Unless you 1-shot everything at monster power 10, you'll farm far faster at monster power 9. If you don't 1-shot everything at monster power 9, you'll farm much faster at monster power 8, etc etc. Since most won't 1-shot stuff at monster power 1-2 that's where they will be farming.
I really wish the game would encourage us to beat a challenge rather than make it completely not worthwhile. It's really about the same as if they buffed the drops in hell to have the same stats as the inferno drops and drop almost as often.
Well they finally released their own numbers and made this post somewhat useless. I suppose it's not all bad, though, as this gave everyone a preview before Blizzard finally got their own blog out. The one new piece of information that I found surprising is that there's a bonus chance for items to drop with higher MP. That makes farming on higher monster powers just a bit more efficient than previously guessed. Not a lot, but it is something.
Finally we also get 100% confirmation that each level of MP increases the chance to find ring parts, plans, and infernal machine pieces by 10%. I usually farm at MP3 so that means I have a 30% chance. That's not too shabby. I think I'd rather get 2 or 3 30% runs done over a MP5 50% chance that takes me 4 times as long from having to get NV stacks.
The bonus item makes it slightly more efficient, but still far from efficient even at the top gear levels. I don't like spamming a link to my own thread but then again I also don't like repeating myself so I'll link to it again here:
This includes a calculation of your efficiency relative to your MP0 efficiency, taking into account all relevant factors (which you can adjust for your own character if you download the excel file).
I don't think we will know with 100% certainty until the Infernal Machine blog, but my guess based on they way they've worded it the last few times is: Yes. MP is the only thing that will affect the chance that you will get a key or ring part. 10% with every MP level.
Well, for a start, how about the 99% of us who wouldn't have a hope in hell of actually succeeding at top difficulty?

I look forward to finding out for sure.
