I've spent quite some time just browsing the forums and have not seen many threads with a positive view on the game. I'd like to see this thread used solely for people to voice what and why they love the game. I'd prefer for this thread to stay positive and not turn into a flame fest between lovers and haters of the game.
Personally, I played every single Diablo game and expansion from the beginning. Diablo 3 has given me the things I loved and added some features that really did improve the game, AH love it or hate it makes it a lot easier to access upgrades outside of the grind.
I love the events, I'm still trying to find a few I missed. I wish there were more but hopefully an expansion will bring that to us.
I love that honestly the online only really has cut back a good deal of issues Diablo 2 had, there's a problem when duped unique's become the standard currency. I know there's some issues and people will say botters are making a fortune between both AH's still. I feel like Blizz is putting forth the time and effort to take care of this as the game develops from it's current state of infancy.
I love having a follower if I choose to play single player and having options as to what type of help I need. Currently my DH has a Templar with 100k hp, getting him to that point was actually fun and seeing him survive more than 2 hits also is great lol.
While I don't love getting crappy rares to vendor, that moment when you get something that's an upgrade or that you know you could sell off for a nice profit to buy your upgrade. That's what keeps me playing. Some people love the grind and those are probably the people who will have constructive contributions to this thread. I am one of those people.
I have not had any good drops for well over a week, all vendor garbage. Still does not deter me. For clarification also, it's not as though I have made a huge amount of gold in the AH, I have 2m right now and have never had more than 3m on hand. While A1 speed runs can be tiring, A2 provides more challenge, and I'm still trying to down Ghom in A3.
Hell I've never had an auction that sold for more than 500k and that was once. So in the "2 week streak" of back luck, I think my luck has been mediocre.
I don't think that Diablo III is a flawless masterpiece, but it's still the best dungeon crawler I've ever played.
Exactly how I feel. It's really still in it's infancy also. The game has been out less than 2 months, they've already made a few ban passes against botters as well as fixing chest manipulation etc... With each coming month I really believe we'll see some nice fine tuning hit across the board to make it even more enjoyable.
I've been stuck on Act 3 also. I have been experimenting with builds and still am at a hard wall there. Hoping to finally kill Ghom tnight, he's cost me a few hundred thousand in repairs so far!
Also I have to say the Rare/Champ Soul Ripper packs are evil, just evil. I can't tell you how many games i've joined where there's a pack right at the door slaughtering everyone who dares enter. I'm thinkig if I can get some more resists or a 1200 dps weapon I might be able to finish A3.
Rethical, I'm gad you enjoyed the thread name. I'm sure to anyone who's opened this it's probably shocking to see a thread purely to express positive views on the game!
Even with all the flaws in this game I have really enjoyed and will continue to enjoy it. I do not play a lot of games but have played every Diablo release and this one is as fun as the previous. With PVP and more coming I am really looking forward to a long life for this game.
It doesn't matter what you call it, Diablo III is the best game I've ever played. Period.
Nah, I think my first playthrough of KOTOR is that one. But, D3 is a very good game. Very polished and the problems it does has are mostly minor and fixable.
You should add a comment here, after you've hit that 2-week streak of getting nothing but sub 100k gold rares and feeling like you're getting nowhere in a hurry.
I've had a two week streak of nothing but sub 100k gold rares, and I'm still having fun.
Hm killed him yesterday, with the Help from a Monk Friend...he just stood in the crap, and tanked him.
But yes, if you dont have Gear, he is pretty much impossible now after 1.03.
And I downed Ghom! 4th try using the grenading tank build. I forgot to equip my 2nd 1h xbow which is why I died the first three times.... Oops
Spent 100k for 2x 1h crap DPS but 500+ LoH each. ~375 resists, just stood there caltroppingand poison grenading. 26k HP and I never went below 1/3.
Now I can finally make my way to Seigebreaker on inferno!
I have to add, as hard a inferno is as each act progresses I enjoy having to work to be able to pass the next area. It can be a pain especially when you're not finding upgrades but the sense of accomplishment is there.
i never grind for gear more then like 1 run a day (or less lol) and use the AH.
yasterday i found a ring worth about 5-8m i gave it to a friend who havent found anything really nice ever, he was staying steady at 250k gold and wanted more... so i gave it to him, let him sell it for whatever profit he got from it
(ring had ~80-90 vit, str, dex,, 6% attack speed, ~50 all resist and like ~25 physical)
im not 100% sure on the stats as its kinda hard to rembember
I enjoy the game. I ding'd 60 with my first character today and I'm at the final act in Hell, I wouldn't come that far if I didn't enjoy the game in one way or another. I'm just not crazy about it. Diablo 3 is one of those games I have it on my playlist and I play it from time to time but it's not something I'd dedicate the whole weekend to. Not sure which crowd I belong to.
You love it because you haven't get to inferno act 3 yet.
You love it because you haven't get to inferno act 3 yet.
That keeps creeping back. At first it was still in normal, then it was not in inferno yet, then haven't hit the act 2 wall yet. Pretty good sign there I'd say.
Like this, Titan Quest, and Torchlight all for their own spin on things.
Been in Inferno since just after 1.01, only just recently got into A2 because I only spend 500K or less in the AH, and only if I go 2 play sessions without a useful upgrade. Spent maybe 5m in the AH, made back about 1.5m.
Game has/had issues, but nothing worse than any Diablo game, or any other game in the genre, had when they launched.
Will play 'til I'm bored, or until Torchlight 2 hits, and I can decide which is more fun.
Love the game. Been playing every day since launch and not even close to being bored. Got a DH to level 60 and hit the Act3 wall but enjoy the gear hunt. Identifying those ilvl 63ratess and hoping for that OMFG roll is very enjoyable for me. For the haters...move along son, your bothering me.

If you are going to call this game a dungeon crawler, there are much better games in the genre. Neverwinter Nights immediately comes to mind.
Diablo III is the best hack-n-slash game I've ever played.
