I come here on the forums often and all i see is ppl complaining, and i don't understand why, i think if u have played d2 at all then u can see the real value of diablo 3 and how amazing it is. I love all the classes and every aspect of the game and honestly couldn't be happier with it and i feel that every true diablo 2 fan ( who would play for a month at a time every once in a wile these past years) should feel the same way.
I hope there is others who share the same opinion about the game!
Played a lot (A LOT) of D2 and I really like it. I mean it's not perfect, it's not the greatest game of all time, but it's a really solid improvement on D2 in lots of ways. I honestly can't think of anything from D2 I really miss.
Yeah, you're not even close to the only person who likes the game. I played a good bit of D2 (not, you know, super amounts, but a decent amount), and I think this is an improvement in almost every way. I like the new skills. I like the story (SHOCKER!). I like the items. I like how Inferno gives you a reason to gear up beyond just getting more.
All that said, they do have mistakes. I just feel that, just like Skyrim or Arkham City, outweigh the issues enough to make it one of the better games of the year. Probably not game of the year, but not horrible like some people who I won't insult say.
I love the game too, farmed cows in D2 for hours a day, sold a few thousand worth of SoJs back in the day blah blah. This is a drastic improvement. There is a lot of people whining and always will - it's just impossible to make everyone happy at the same time. Blizzard doesn't try to make everyone happy at once, they do what they think is best, those that didn't like it end up whining like a bunch of little girls. Those that liked it play the game hence the forums always look like everyone's unhappy, while the fact of the matter is - majority are happy and aren't whining.
There are issues, no game is perfect and will never be, Blizzard took a risk and went with a new approach - launch the game, let massive amounts of people play and keep updating / developing / fixing / etc as it goes, because that is the only way to get massive amounts of feedback which is necessary to polish something up.
A lot of people complain about no end-game content as such, but this is a hack and slash game, think back... what was the end game content in D2? What was the end game content in D1? What was the end game content in DS1 or DS2? This genre of games is not about the final destination - it's about the journey. You will certainly reach the final destination one day, just the same as you will die one day... does that make life boring then? This game has the same excitement of the process of gearing up, farming up, comparing items, figuring the way to build a stronger character with the skill / item changes, playing with friends and so on.
Bottom line really is - if you are so unhappy with this game - just don't play it. This is not a job and Blizzard is not your employee neither do they owe you anything. It was your own free choice to buy the game and to play it. If you're not happy with it - just gtfo and let the rest of us enjoy it in peace.

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
What do you mean low level uniques? The ones from Normal? They were useless. Nightmare maybe. Sorta.
I don't think it's impossible to farm your own gear. I've been doing it myself, for kicks. Diablo 2 didn't even have Inferno so if you could find gear to get you through Hell then you're gearing as easily as in D2. Inferno is supposed to take a lot of grinding.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. I'm enjoying the game imm ensely. i have no qualms with the item hunt or anything about it. it sucks that i'm stuck on Act 2 with my barb but i decided to level my DH so I could get to Inferno and farm for gear for my barb so he could progress. i like all the classes and most of the skills. It bothers me when I look at the blue tracker and see such an excessive amount of harsh criticism over something I think most people should be enjoying. I've put in at least 200ish hours so far in it. Compared to most AAA titles that is a crazy time investment since most are maybe...MAYBE 30 to 40 hour long games.
Been loving the game since day 1. My only issues are technical and some of them related more to Nvidia/ATI than Diablo 3.
All my classes are now at 60 and I've beaten Inferno on my Monk, which is, in my opinion, the hardest to progress with. It was well satisfying. Still choosing in which class to invest for my second Inferno clear. All classes right now are in Act 2.
I see the game as still in it's very, very early release stage. Blizzard games are never exceptional when they release, but this is the difference between Blizzard and all other companies. The Blues listen to fans, fiddle with settings and in one year time there is nothing that can even come close to their games. Most developers just release a product and forget about it. I've had that experience with almost 80% of all games I've played. Not to mention features will constantly be developed. Content patches maybe not, but features (like PvP) are already announced and underway.
I'm expecting D3 to go miles in a few short months. By that time the AH/RMAH economy would've also balanced itself out and every new player will have an awesome experience, that we, the 'older' generation had to go through with lots of bugs and exploits in between.
This was also the case with D2. By the time the first D3 expansion comes around the game will be absolutely brilliant.
I enjoy it too, the fact that sooo many people are still playing means they enjoy it too. Its just that they are silly demanding fools who expect the same amount of content from a once off game as a subscription game.

Weird considering Blizzard just came out saying they agree with those "fools" that there needs to be more things to do at end game.

I am so glad someone else feels this way about the game!
I picked up d2 about a month before the d3 release, just so i had a general idea about how the ARPG genre works. While playing, I found a few things fairly annoying, like how skills were used and the incredible lack of bag space and storage, and every single one was fixed in d3.
I've been immenly satisfied with d3, and I hope to enjoy many more hours with the game looking for loot, and I can't wait to see what comes in the next few patches!

"Never argue with an idiot; they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
Diablo 3 looks nice.. I won't say it's a "great game." I think if you've put maybe a month's worth of play time into D2 you might think so. There are several things that just break the fun of the game.
The UI is terrible. The original UI (which listed skills in 3 separate categories, ALL on the same tab) was stellar. It was done away with for fear that "new/casual gamers" would find it confusing.
There are no memorable items. After playing D2 for a month you could at least name 5-10 "must-have" items or at least 5-10 set/unique items. I can't even name one in D3.
You don't find your own gear. You really need to use the AH to find any gear worth using. The best thing about D2 was that you could go kill Mephisto and find a Shako or an Occulus and almost wet your pants from excitement. I see now why they took out unidentifying scrolls for D3. Because if I had to spend money to unidentify so many useless items I'd go berserk.
Now along with the bad I will mention the things that I like, so my comments aren't completely nonconstructive.
I do like the fact that you can pick any 6 skills you want, at any time. I also like that there are a lot more champions/elites wandering around (even though your chances of finding anything good from them is rare) I also think the characters look pretty cool as you gear up, and having dyes does help. I'm also a big fan of being able to teleport to wherever your friends are in the game at any time.
And, with Blizzard's track record of slowly improving games post-release, I have no doubt that D3 will eventually be just as great as people remember D2 being. It just won't be that now, and some people really want that (and they're entitled to that opinion).
I have issues with plenty of things with D3, but none of them are outright gamebreaking, and most of them have been acknowledged by Blizzard and are being worked on in some capacity. That's enough for me to see past "today" and realize that "tomorrow" is going to be great. In the meantime I have 3 more toons that aren't 60 and that will hold me over for a while, and there are plenty of other things I can do too like work on my project to collect lots of data about mob affixes!

Ha. Bagstone.
Wow...new to gaming?

Above average, yes.
