You didn't get 100 hours of playtime out of SC2? What did you do, clear the single player campaign then never play online at all? If so you are voluntarily skipping most of the game, which is your own choice and not Blizzard fault. Maybe it is what you say, its simply not targeting your demographic.
I did multiplayer and found it lacking... Every game up until platinum is rush or be rushed. It gets old after the 12th time. I miss the old map setting mini games from SC1 (I was big into making maps) I didn't stick around to see if they added that feature into SC2 (they primarly focus on pure match making). The achivements in single player kept me going for a bit but not much of a challenge, except that damn arcade game
I have to agree, I hate the early game rush as well, but you simply need to figure out how to avoid it. Once you do that its much more enjoyable.
I actually only lost a couple of those rush games because I anticipated people would rush... well 12 games in a row was my breaking point.
SC1 had good practice nothing like a 1 V 5 comps, you really had to prepare for rushes and still pulled that shit off. I will admit I'm not the best at the game, I have excellent macro management but my micro is terrible and what keeps me out of the realm of the better players. Point is if I have to deal with rushes EVERY single game, how will I get any better?
i got sc2 for the campaign and the custom maps. blizzard just ruined the latter for all of us who played and loved wc3 just for the custom maps. campaign was fine though even if one usually only plays it once.

The exact same way everyone else got better, practice.
Dealing with rushes has always been a part of Starcraft, always will be.
It's a part of Starcraft but it shouldn't be the preferred attack (more noticeable in SC2). I'm sure there are ways to incorporate a Zealot warp gate defense rush without tanking your economy for mid game, but again what’s the point since there is no mid game.
I prefer getting WTF pwned by a MMM ball (mid game) than play a 5 minute game of who is faster. Overall your point is right, but referring back to my demographic point, I'm not into the virtual penis games therefore I don't apply to the need to rush or use disconnect hacks so I can rack up my rating. I know the SC series is about virtual penis waving but there were options to bypass this in SC1 it was called playing ladder games. In SC1 people could control the games/rules, this does not exist in SC2... much like what PvP will become in D3

lol WTF are you talking about?
Ladder games in SC1 were by FAR where most of the rushing happened.
If you dont want to play Ranked games in SC2, they dont force you too, they even have "No Rush" maps available to play on. (With rocks block all avenues, preventing early game rushing)

I didn't play ladder how would I know what happened in those games? My rush point is now invalid, ah well. Is the pick map option new, because I never seen it. All I saw is how many players you want to compete with, i.e. 1V1, 2V2 etc...

Just go to "Custom Games"
From there you have a very, very large amount of options to choose from.

You can even co op vs AI if you want to.
I vaguely remember a custom games section but I didn't use for some reason.... it's been too long to remember. Well that sucks I may have potentially lost out on some extra gaming due to oversight. Haha I look like a retard now ... oh wait I think I recall reading that Blizzard had to approve your custom maps or something silly like that. Maybe that was what threw me off (probably not even legit).
