I got tired of everyone calling me softcore, so I sat down and just played through the game on Hardcore setting. I didn't die one time, and from what I can see the mobs are actually easier than in Inferno.
Yeah i think inferno is more of a challenge than hardcore, having cleared inferno and also being able to say there is no real long term goal to hardcore, just live as long as you can, knowing eventually. you WILL die.

game doesnt really kick into gear until act 3 of Inferno, That is a place where you might actually die before than just common sense and normal careful play like you should do in Hardcore will keep you alive for most of the time.

Only goal is to beat inferno before the nerfs and do it in hardcore. I am sure it has a fair chance to happen from Kripp. just gotta gear out the 2nd barb more and with some good luck and no soul rippers it might happen
You realize that Inferno and Hardcore are two completely different things?
Hardcore = a game mode in which you can only die once.
Inferno = a difficulty setting.
They aren't even mutually exclusive: you can play in inferno while playing hardcore mode.
The mobs are exactly the same in hardcore and softcore.....
Yeah, this makes no sense. Inferno and hardcore are not mutually exclusive. If your point is that hardcore normal is easier than inferno then yes, thank you for pointing out the obvious. Hardcore is not a difficult, it is a mode in which you lose your character if you die.
People may still call you "softcore", but now they will likely call you an idiot as well.
I had the same experience. I'm on regular Act III inferno right now having my butt handed to me, getting frustrated, and then spending more time on the forum than in the game.
The hardcore forum is full of people that act like hardcore mode is for real men and regular is for carebears. With my Act III inferno barb driving me nuts I went ahead and rolled a hardcore monk, it couldn't be any worse than dieing every ten seconds right?
It was WAY easier. I could literally stand and tank Diablo, I didn't even move for fire. The drops sucked though.

Both.
