While were down again - sigh - I thought it might be entertaining to see what combinations of abilities on rare spawns have given everyone the most trouble. If your going to post one please also include the mob it spawned on and a short reason why this combo of mob/abilities made them so tough.
Heres a couple of my hardest.
Act 1 Inferno - Mob: scavenger (burrowing leaper) - Abilities: Fast, Vortex, Jailer, Waller
This was unbeatable for me after multiple attempts on my Wiz. I could not kite them at all and they hit too hard to stand still for any length of time. You literally could not get any distance on them at all.
Act 4 Hell - Mob: Morlu Incinerator - Abilities: Illusionist, Mortar, Jailer
Wow - nuclear meltdown! My screen was covered in so much red shit falling from the skies it was painful to look at! I can only imagine inferno giving this group a 4th ability.
Act 1 Inferno - Mob: Unburied - Abilities: Extra Health, Health Link, Fast, Vampirific
Impossible to kill - nuff said.
Act 3 Hell - Mob: Phasebeast - Abilities: Invulnerable Minions, Teleporter, Vortex.
This guy was such a pain in the ass it wasn't funny. All the jumping around of high damage guys that you couldn't kill was fun enough. Now try to keep your eye on the boss that you can damage in the middle of all this.
I can't think of anymore that have really caused me nerd rage like these ones. If I run into more I'll add em. Feel free to tell us your champion-caused tales of woe.
Act 2 hell - land shark things - I forget exactly - shielded/plagued/vampiric if I remember right. 30+ minutes of kiting in a circle. Had to coax them out of the ground for 1-2 hits at a time.
Anything that can hide from you naturally suck (those nagas who go invisible, the land sharks, the frog scavenger dudes) as elites.
Then again, I love getting:
waller/firechains/plagued or something when it's a melee group. The waller actually hinders their other special abilities. It's very nice.
Or mortar on a group that is relatively stationary. That's 1 less affix to worry about. Just stay in that dead spot.
Invulnerable minions is the worst one of all the affixes. The one you can hit always seems to hide behind the others - I assume it's part of the AI. Making that fight just take forever.
Avenger, I've found is stupid. I don't fight it any differently. It's always easier to have fewer dudes coming at you, even if that last one is a little stronger. The difference it's super significant anyways.
Ghouls with Fast, Frozen, Shielding, don't remember the 4th ability, but I do remember them blocking quest path and me wiping about 30 times on them.
Act 2 Inferno:
Them spinning monstrosities, met a boss pack with Arcane Enchanted, Jailer, Invulnerable Minions + if I remember correctly, Vortex. They also take less damage while spinning. Insane. I have Act 2 on farm, but this is the pack that I skipped.
Act 3 Hell: Soul Lashers: Fast, Fire chains: teleporter
try and get far, 2 of them licks you and if you don't die instantly you get killed by firechains, you managed to get far enough so they don,t lick you they teleport and still kills you, and due to them being fast naturally being added ''fast'' only mean you can barely see them move now
Inferno Act 1: pretty much every champion group in the lvl before the butcher. It does not even matter which Affixes they have. They hit just way to hard for me atm. I skip all of them and run straight to the butcher
Most packs that keep on running away from me .... hate them.
Like mentioned already ... unkillable minions -.-
i know the feeling i'm playing a barb farming act 1 inferno. Those guys that have the big maces that glow before they hit. I had a pack the other day that i ended up skipping. plague, arcane enchanted, jailer, extra health. I couldn't do anything against them with the duel wield frenzy/wotb build i was using. I couldn't get more then a few hits in at a time because i had to avoid the plague, sentries, and their glowy extremely painful attack. Every now and then i'd get jailed without a CD up and i'd just get obliterated.
Worst i've had was act 2 nightmare, the wasps, firechains/vampiric. Never died so much to a single pack of mobs. The little bugs they spit was bad enough, getting surrounded with firechains constantly was also painful. Add vampiric and i couldn't even dent their HP. Everytime i got one down to about 50% the other 2 would some how get me into the chains and their HP would go back to full T.T.
as a monk
Act 2 inferno - Wasps: illusionist, arcane enchanted, desecarator, jailer
I managed to pull them one by one so that made the fight a bit easier, but still it's such pain when it splits and flyes over the unpassable rocks or off the map.
These bitches would teleport to my melee range, jail me and then shoot those piece of shit little wasplings and run the fuck away from me at high speed while those little wasps tear me a new ***hole. And I encountered them in the canyon at first quest. No where to run, no where to hide, no where to kite...

"The first three were dead before they hit the ground. The others weren't so lucky."
Shielding demons in act 3 with Nightmarish, Invulnerable Minions, Extra Health. The minions had natural knockback and he kept his own shield up, so I had no option but to skip.
I'm a Barbarian, though, so I just leaped across a gap to get away.
I also loathe the infernal act 2 wasps with Jailer, fast, molten, illusionist. Dodging anything is impossible.
Act 1 inferno Barb... 5 Zombies: Molten Plague illusionist jailer. Fun time for a barb. I love hitting them turning them from 5 to 20+ then just being jailed in molten plagued area. worst part it was in the dank cellar so no room to kite.
Okay I just ran into another champion pack from hell. The little burrowing creeper things again (they really suck) just outside of Queen Arenea's cave after you finish her fight.
They had Mortar, Plagued, Horde, Illusionist. My screen was covered in shit to the point I thought I was going to have an epileptic fit. You couldn't stay at range and you couldn't get close. Bascially you were fucked. Gave up after about 10 wipes and just made a new game.

They'd mortar, run up close, knockback, then mortar where you land while you are slowed. I stuffed em in a corner after too many tries.
Act 1 inferno - unburied - fast/frozen/vampiric/shielded
