[UPDATE]: Looks that Blizzard hotfixed this tonight during maintenance. A great stop in the right direction I think, big kudos to them for being so on top of it with the fix.

I've been debating saying anything because I don't want tons of people suddenly taking advantage of it, but I realize it'll become widespread knowledge eventually and I'd rather Blizzard correct it now if they deem it worth messing with.
This isn't a bug or exploit, just probably not something that is 'working as intended'.
In Act 2, take the waypoint 'Path to the Oasis' (or whatever it's called at the oasis entrance).
Immediately scope out the area to the NE of the oasis entrance. You're looking for the mini-dungeon event entrance labeled 'Ransacked Cellar' (you might see 'Rotting Cellar' as well in the same spot, it's not the one you're after).
Go down and there's a very fast little fight and an NPC opens up his basement, there are two chests -- 1 normal and 1 resplendent that always has good loot; I tend to get 2-3 blues, sometimes a rare, at least 2 gems and 1-2 artisan pages every time. There's a resplendent chest in this cellar 100% of the time.
I'm pretty sure this pops up somewhere in the oasis every single generation, but it often shows up very close to the WP entrance which makes checking for it there very quickly very easy. Quite simple to check for it, run it if it's there, and then TP, exit game, Resume game, check again. You can do it 12-15 times an hour without even trying to be fast.
I don't think it's quite gamebreaking but it obviously lets you pile up some nice drops very quickly. I'm worried about more spots like this becoming known / farmed / botted, so here's to hoping Blizzard tweaks this ASAP.
Honestly, that doesn't sound all that OP compared with some of the other things you can farm, I'd expect to find 12-15 unique opponents/hour anyway.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.
Yeah, but you actually have to at least fight and kill those champion packs.
I'm looking more forward to Inferno, where this will be stupidly broken. You can conveivably run past even champion packs in the very short trip from the WP to check for this, and farm an exceptionally good loot table with almost zero danger / effort. It may not be broken in Normal / NM but it's going to start looking that way in Inferno very quickly.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
Hi, kindly close this thread. Everyone do it now even on livestream inferno mode right now! Do you encourage players to abused this unintentional faulty mechanic?!!
I don't see how this is any different from classic Diablo farming.
It's not, which is why it's crummy and how we know to a pretty good degree of certainty that it's not 'working as intended'; the devs have stated over and over D3 is not supposed to function the same way (i.e., farming one area / boss forever).

Unless we are 100% sure of the math behind these chests we can't say it's not working as intended, i don't think all resplendent chests are the same.
These farmable chests probably can't drop elite legendaries, have a limit on the modifiers of rares, etc.

I remember in the beta one of the 3 defiled crypts would always have a replenishment chest in it. Towards the end of the beta they made it not spawn all the time. I would say places that are spawning chests 100% of the time will be changed in a future patch.

Yeah, they have very, very good loot tables, don't kld yourself.
Even if they never dropped a legendary or rare, they consistently drop good gems / artisan pages, which is OP enough without the rares and legendaries that do indeed drop.

Yeah, both Kripparian and the Method crew has been doing this for quite some time today while live streaming.
i hope these guys get banned/characters wiped for this. i took a look at the stream. its a joke. they run seperatly past all the mobs then the first one to get to the chest they all port to that ones game. its messed up. theyre even talking about how easy it is... this is obviously an exploit to get to the chest every time even though it is an error on blizzs part to put it near a WP.
The devs literally said that anything can drop anything, it's all a matter of percentages and odds. Do you like your odds better farming this chest in Act 2 (not Act 1, you don't even know what you're talking about) Inferno or trying to down really brutal champion packs that might not even have a better chance to drop the elite-end legendaries? In the time to kill one nasty champion pack in Inferno you could hit this chest 2-4 times. Even if you're right, you're wrong.

Considering the amount of gems/pages needed for upgrades, i don't think it's that OP, at all.
I'm watching method stream, i can't really see if the rares droping are gamebreaking.... ofc, the chest might need a tweak, but it's hardly an exploit, as most people *cough* wow players *cough* think it is.

I said act 1 as an example, did you seriously thought i confused the acts?
easy accessible chest = poor odds, chests you find after bosses = higher odds, is it really that hard to understand?
it doesn't matter if they are getting 2 rares a run if everything is crap (btw, their drops so far are more like 1 rare every 10 runs, which is WAY worse than any D2 run). It's like farming pindleskin in D2, you would always get something out of him, 95% of time it would be junk.

Also, in case they decide they don't want to fix it, I just wanted to share the trick.

p.s. sorry for my english.

I'm pretty sure i said ELITE (aka: godly) legendaries on my post.
And different packs of rare/champions drop different qualities of items. It's probably the same for resplendents chest.
I'm sure once we have played the game for at least a month we will have much better understanding of what the drop rates and treasure classes are.

Basically you're saying that farming a act 1 chest is the same as farming one in the room before you face Diablo.
This not only make any sense, its not how it worked throught out the series, different chests drop different items.
