You think every Act of every difficulty will take 1.5 hours each to complete? I hope you're trolling.

He's probably pretty close on his time estimate of Normal but each difficulty after that will get exponentially harder, thus taking more time. I don't care how good you are at the game or how good your gear is, you will die. That's more time. Also, nobody has any idea just how much xp scales as you get closer to 50. There could very well be "hell level" type scenarios at certain levels.

It must be fun being an anonymous troll.
no troll, just realistic

Diablo doesn't work like that. Every difficulty adds more mobs and skills, where you would be facing 5 mobs at a time in Normal you will be facing 10-15-20 in nightmare, hell and inferno. Harder mobs, more to kill and harder to rush.
Blitzing in Hell is pretty much going to be impossible. And they also stated you need to grind a little while in hell before hitting 60.

This coin has two sides: you're declaring that you can get something done you know absolutely nothing about as well. I hear a lot of talk and feel a lot of hot air on my face, but until I see it then you're just flapping your gums.

Nothing that I said had anything to do with what any developer said. I'm going off of past experiences with Blizzard's games and data on mob hp/dam scaling for each difficulty.
Maybe I am wrong for assuming that act 1 on hell and act 1 on normal require different amounts of time to complete. Maybe I am also wrong for assuming act 1 and act 2 will not be the same size and will not take the same amount of time.
Seems this math is shackled with lots of assumptions as well.
For the sake of numbers, let's assume the OP's guesstimation was accurate. I know a bunch of people want to race to 60 as fast as possible and be the first people to chop at inferno mode and begin their theory crafting and stock up on endgame loot all before they've let themselves sleep. They'll be the 30hr people. Me? I'm probably going to be in the 60-80hr category because I want to....you know.....play the game and explore all the little nooks and crannies and listen to the quest text and drink in as much as I can and just all together take my time during the honeymoon period while I'm still starry eyed by this new game that I've been waiting on for over a decade. I don't want the small window for first impressions to be sullied by trying to optimize my speed through the main storyline, end game content isn't going anywhere.
(as a side note, I don't know about you guys but 30 minutes for the beta seems a bit fast anyway, let alone using it as the general coefficient for the measure of 1/3 of any act.)
No way it will take 30 hours, 60-70% of the community is going to marathon at least for 12-20 hours, we plan on playing until we drop, which is around 30-40 hours. I doubt we will hit 60 so fast.
Its going to take you at least a week for the super hardcore players, and about 3 weeks for the semi hardcore.
You're forgetting movies, listening to quests, talking to npcs, salvaging gear, training blacksmith, putting stuff on AH.
People who plan to rush to nightmare to get good gear are idiots.
They won't pass the gate of nightmare with the crap gear they will get, or by missing those 3-5 crucial levels of finishing everything.

A WEEK?! I think that's an overestimation, but we'll see.

Did you even finish Hell? You should know from that alone it's going to take some time.
