Ok so basically me and a few friends (who I've been gaming with for years) were planning on doing a 24 hr marathon when it releases in the states. Unfortunately our Wiz just got a job he has to take and does not believe he will have internet hooked up in time to do it. That's where you come in.
We are looking for a Wiz that can do a 24 hrs when servers go live on U.S times. Our plan is to do 24 hrs the first day, than sleep for 6-8 depending on where we are and how we are feeling and then go for about another 12-14 hrs. We could always go for more after that but it's all gonna be based on how tired we are and how we are ALL feeling.
You would also need to be willing to share items, any item that drops for the other class and is a upgrade would go to that class. We would obviously be giving you items as well and we have zero problem with that. We will be using Skype to communicate so you would need to have that downloaded and be a friendly person as all of us are very relaxed.
The only other thing i can think of is a strong history of gaming. We we're all high end raiders in WoW, played the shit out of Diablo 2. If you are interested at all feel free to post here or P.M me and we'll talk
Edit to say obviously if we're gonna be hanging out this long we hope to be friends and play together in the future not just this one time.
Who won't be playing for 24 hours or so to start. Most the gamers I know play a good 16+ a day and waiting for this game for so long. It will be a week of no sleep. Then next week probly the start of farming end of NM and begining of Hell over and over HELL YEAH.
I plan to play with 3 friends. Although we have about 8 doing this whichs kinda sucks lol. So wish we all could play together. All of us went to different games after D2 wow, FFonline, FPS and console crap, jobs, kids. But we all are gonna play the shit out of D3 release week.
1 Group Wizard, DH, Barb, and WD or Monk, other group. Wizard, Barb, DM or Monk and Barb. So when people go to sleep or wake up at different times we can all switch up groups a little.
Is it that healthy no but it's definatly worth it TO ME. I've been waiting for this game for years i will not be bored after 5 hours and spent many of nights staying up all night playing D2 and being just fine. You guys act like no one has ever pulled a 24hr stint for a video game before.
Lots of things are bad for your health, the question is; is it worth it?
In the case of staying up 24h straight playing Diablo 3, hell yeah!
- We're talking about 24 hours here. First 5 hours is going to be exciting, but by the end of that period you're going to have headache and dizziness. You're going to vomit your guts out and have trouble concentrating on anything. When you pass out from exhaustion, it's not going to be six hours and go again. You're going to sleep for 12-18 hours and wake up having no idea if it's morning or evening.
rofl they aren't going to end up like that kid who died from playing SC too much
I marathon for every WoW xpack release to hit level cap and it's about 18-20 hours. I'm extremely tired at the end, but as long as you aren't eating the worst food imaginable and you're drinking plenty of water...at the end you're just really tired but not sick.
Our team is looking for a Wizard as well to play the first 24 hours since we need the 4th to be a Wizard. Not jacking your thread or anything just think its odd how everything you said in yours and your situation is exactly the same as our teams lol.
Guess great minds think a like. We posted in the Wizard section though.
I might consider this, but I'm not sure my body would handle it well. Also, I'm most likely not going to be on until 10-11am EST release day due to Best Buy botching my pre-order.

I pull 24 hour duty all the time, non of these symptoms have ever happened.
They likely want separate classes to maximize group drops, ideally you don't want two people gunning for the same gear, it slows down progression. I would do similar setups in wow at the beginning of an xpac, build a group with as little gear overlap as possible to get to heroics and five man achievements quicker.
Why do you plan to play a game for 24 hours straight? It's not good for your health.
I hope you're trolling because staying up for 24 hours has little to no effect on health, especially for a once in a decade event like the launch of d3!

I'm almost certain he is trolling, hell 24 hours isn't even a long time i've quite comfortable done 50hr+ sessions of games, mostly when tryin to reach a certain point before the date in which some sort of event happens or when somthing I love first releases and i just want to play it or when u do a weekend long lan party sorta thing.. Yet i've never experienced any repercussions. I intend to spend a similar amount of time when D3 releases, hoping to hit 60 within my first session and i'm sure i'm not alone in this goal... Or perhaps I am and i'm just crazy
Thnx got having my back guys I really think some people are over exagerating the effect of staying up 24 hrs. Yes it's 1 of each class so gear is spread fairly and we don't have 1 person with super leet gear and another one doing 10 dps. Also if any other groups are doing this I'd like to get in touch with you to be able to play together and get each others info a few days in if were around the same spot.

Btw, which classes do you already have in your group?
We have a Barb, Monk, DH, and then our other guy was planning on being a Wiz. I guess WD would work as well but thats why we were looking for a wiz.
