I've been browsing around in the different class forums and looking at peoples builds, there are definitely some abilities that a lot of people are choosing in their builds, but I wanted to focus on abilities that most people don't choose or consider in their builds (and perhaps discuss why that may be?)
To start off, I don't think I've seen anybody make a build with sprint in it for the barbarian. Why chose it when charge does basically the same thing in addition to dealing damage and generating rage?
What are some abilities that you have never (or rarely) seen included in builds?
I would actually use sprint marathon to get around faster since I think furious charge has 10s cooldown or runed to reduce 2s a hit but still a lil inconvienant at times.
What I don't see people using is plague of toads. Worst ability in beta so far, it's so random in its pathing that you can cast it 5 times in front of an enemy and miss. And runed, doesn't seem to offer much, you can make it rain but theres also acid cloud and you can make a giant toad eat an enemy over 5s but adds 5s cooldown... other than that everything else seems useful somehow.
Hrm.. Perfect balance... Somehow that isn't quite as enticing as it sounds.
Especially since I rather prefer one boobliebit just a bit lower/higher/flatter/rounder/innie/outie/etc than the other.
Nah Blizz said this game isn't going for balance, more about choices and fun gameplay mechanics which is why they said Diablo 3 won't have esports or competitive support.
I just saw the plague of toads rain glyph in the new WD video and I have to say, if it's anything close to acid cloud damage wise I will prefer it. It just looks so damn cool.
Horrify seems kind of pointless (witch doctor) because it makes monsters run in all directions..
Unless you enjoy some of the glyphed effects. I believe one has a chance to spawn an additional hounds if the mob dies while feared. Perhaps you have a strategy to load up the mob with dot effects and have them horrify away from you while they continue to take damage. I can guarantee this will be at least one persons preferred play style.
Needless to say the game isn't out yet and forum builds won't necessarily transfer over to the real game.
Also sprint is a cost skill with no cooldown allowing you to continuously pursue kiters, and trust me this can be quite viable when monsters/players get really good at kiting...at this point you simply have to anti-kite longer than they can kite which makes sprint great.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Blizzard used to care about releasing Diablo III, then they all took an arrow in the knee...

Things might be so very different at lvl 60 and some spells are prob situational.
Which is visually more pleasing (they all look nice) i'll choose that skill
