hardly believe it was a bug, though. I'm not very conspirational, but peaks of hype and "secret info peaks" were always one of Blizzard's favorite marketing strategy.
So they've closed the beta for like half a day just because a "couple" of people without beta access played the beta ?. I suppose at least 50% of the beta testers don't play it anymore, so whats the bad thing in letting people who haven't tested the beta do it for the remaining week (or 12 days, bleh) ? Evil Blizzard is Evil!
I think it would be a little more than a couple of ppl:D Either way I don't see any reason why they couldn't just do open beta for those last 12 days and see how the servers perform when the flood gates open. It's either now they see it or 15th of May. I suspect on15th of May it might be very difficult to enjoy the game with all the Battlenet crashes. Let's hope I'm wrong.

The fact that unauthorized people were able to login is actually an extremely bad bug and shows that there was something seriously wrong with their authentication checks.
Whats wrong with people just walking into your house, sitting on your couch and propping their feet up on your coffee table if you leave your front door open? Evil portugese is evil!

Because we don't need more jackasses posting bug reports about bugs that are known issues.. or non issues.
Take for example - idiot that posted a bug about the templar not following him in public games. Or the Idiot that just posted about how he can't get the client to work after switching the language ... when its been floated around since the day after patch 16 that changing language in beta = bad. Or the idiots that complain about their Radeon 2600 not handling diablo 3?

They should open the beta to everybody that purchased the game, so that would be a kind of closed super stress test

Or they should not. Yeah lets go with not.
How much of a fucking logistical nightmare would that be to have to go track down receipts for everyone and anyone that preordered the game from all retailers that have copies... from all countries that have copies.
I wouldn't say it was so much of a bug, It was more of a Patch 17 is basically the final retail patch, and they were testing the starter edition to make sure it worked like it was suppose too, and forgot to take it out, which is what is happening right now, that is no way official and only my guess.

When i said purchased the game, i meant ppl who bought the digital copy from blizzard, like our bud Cannonrock said

Then comes the issue of the over 1mil+ AP holders, do they get in as well? I'm almost possitive that would be well over 2.5mil-3mil, the beta servers wouldn't beable to handle that.
Keep in mind the Beta servers are not the new servers that the live region servers will be on, they are very very weak compared to the power house servers that will go online for May 15th
Yep... No reason to ban for unharmfull thing
They have literally 0 incentive to do that.

What makes you believe that? how is it a good marketing strategy to not let people play.
